recommending chainsaw man to people like yeah it's this story about a boy who has a chainsaw in his head. it's a harrowing exploration of how late stage capitalism is a breeding ground for extreme isolation that leads us to dive headfirst into unhealthy and imbalanced attachments when they are presented to us as an alternative to crippling loneliness. it's about finding genuine love and care in those same unhealthy dynamics and it's about still cherishing your abusers after all they've done to you and it's about cannibalism as love and men who are dogs and history repeating itself in an endless cycle of violence and vengeance that is still worth going through if it gives us the possibility to love and be loved. haha look vomit kiss

Phenomenon I feel happens a lot

Just read the second chapter of csm part 2 today and it’s literally amazing. I love the whole concept of the war devil, a being currently portrayed as simply an evil out to get denji, who hasn’t even been introduced in the story yet aside from an intangible being and goal that these characters talk about.

Mitaka, who was just beginning to find some peace, got roped into a really bad situation with the war devil, and I’m excited to see how she deals with that. I find it interesting how we see a (main) character who is put in a position where she has no choice but to go along either the enemy, unlike how denji in the first part, who while was forced into what happened, these forces were external and able to be fought rather than the unique problem of mitaka and the war devil.

Something I noticed, was in the last panel of ch 99, was that a trio of devil hunters was introduced/created. Based on part 1’s themes of found family, I think that this could be something that happens again, or at least a similar situation, however we know what happened with the previous trio we saw in csm…
