i want to experiment. reblog this with your fav tsc ship. i want to see which one is truly the most popular.
my toxic tmi trait is that i only care for simon and i hate everyone else in the series because they all have mistreated simon in someway throughout the six books just because he was a mundane/vampire. and i don’t like it took simon sacrificing himself for most of them to realize he was worth something and i think they should hate themselves a little more for how they treated the dude who ended up saving them from edom <3

Exactly! Creativity channels itself in so many different ways. If a character really speaks to you, if a story brings you excitement, then why shouldn't it be considered art when you express yourself through them? Why is this specific thing looked down apon, but when someone uses a model for their art it's not looked on the same way? It's likely because these characters and stories are already a creative channel of someone else. But no ideas have ever been born from nothing. Everything that exists is an adaptation of something existing. Did you know that every story follows the one of 36 plots? No story has ever been written outside of these plots. So why is every fiction writer held to such a high standard, when they're simply rewriting something that has been written thousands of times before? Fiction writing is no different from fanfiction writing. Fanfiction art is no different from art. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
Do you ever think you'll stop drawing fanart? No offense it just seems like the kind of thing you're supposed to grow out of. I'm just curious what your plans/goals are since it isn't exactly an art form that people take seriously.
Ah, fanart. Also known as the art that girls make.
Sad, immature girls no one takes seriously. Girls who are taught that it’s shameful to be excited or passionate about anything, that it’s pathetic to gush about what attracts them, that it’s wrong to be a geek, that they should feel embarrassed about having a crush, that they’re not allowed to gaze or stare or wish or desire. Girls who need to grow out of it.
That’s the art you mean, right?
Because in my experience, when grown men make it, nobody calls it fanart. They just call it art. And everyone takes it very seriously.
My favourite piece of fan art ever.
My best fan art medium is creating my favorite characters in fashion games
It’s crazy that Simon is supposed to be this “nerd” but he has everyone falling for him lmaoo
it's honestly my favorite thing hehe bc it was happening before the sexy vampire mojo etc. too. literally like the third scene he's in there's a literal stranger getting clary's attention just to ask about him. bc he's a cutie!!! and then you have the band stuff. like maureen had a crush on him before the series ever started. i mean come on a bass player in those stage lights?? *nods* it's the best bc he's awkward and nerdy yes but he's also funny and kind and humble and smart and determined and honorable. he has so so many attractive qualities.
but i also think to some extent he just comes off as so much more.. attainable than any shadowhunters would yk? he's not superhot or overly confident but that's what makes him more like worth pursuing yk? he is relatable in his dorkiness. he's unassuming. ik i use that word for him a lot.. but i think this is a perfect example of why. he's approachable. he's attractive if you like nerds or musicians or twink-shaped boys lol but the reason people keep falling for him is because of how quickly i think they realize how much more of him there is yk? like yes he is a nerd, but that doesn't overshadow how much more there is to him. even if he does insist on stocking his wardrobe with hot topic tees lol
Simon's mom's an alcoholic. Not a good thing, but I'm overcome with feels about Climon and the Fray family helping him and Rebecca cope. Headcannons, pleaaaase??
Oh my gosh, yes! So many. I see Elaine as what you might consider a functional alcoholic, at least at first. She drank to sleep, to forget. It was cheaper than sleeping pills, and with none of the side effects she didn’t like. It didn’t interfere with her work, usually, and she honestly thought Rebecca and Simon didn’t notice. Besides… it helped her cope.
Being a single mom with a full time job was hard, watching her husband die in front of her was harder. Drugs were a big no in their little community, her parents would have killed her, but a bit of drinking at night was acceptable, as long as it wasn’t on a holy day or anything. She moved on from a few glasses of wine to dry martinis in the evening, to settle her brain so she could get Simon and Rebecca down, to drinking mid afternoon to handle her headaches so she could get through work. It made her sloppy, she knew it, but she didn’t drive, she made sure her kids were taken care of, surely it was fine?
