I've been thinking about ORV movie adaptation and I have a really deep internal conflict TwT

Like

Part of me wants the movie to be a great adaptation: the characters' acting all nicely, good CGI, seeing my favorite scenes on a big screen and all, a nice and faithful script

B U T

Part of me wants it to FAIL MISERABLY

Like, some fans were discussing that the actors are being casted by popularity and all to gather more poeple who would watch the movie for the actors themselves and all

AND WITH THIS THEY JUST SCREW THE WHOLE SCRIPT AND CREATE A BRAND NEW PLOT. IMAGINE, LIKE, THEY PULL A FUCKING YAOI TO ATRACT FUJOSHIS. JUST ADDING A FREAKING RANDOM ROMANCE OUT OF THEIR ASSES. I WOULD DIE. I WOULD LAUGH SO MUCH. IMAGINE SEEING EVERYONE COMPLETELY OOC AND YOU ARE JUST THERE WATCHING IT ALL HAPPEN LIKE "bRO TF IS THis LMAO"

It would be a complete disaster, and that's what would made the movie epic too. Just straight up hilarious. I would piss myself in the movies. And it would be one of the best experiences of my life.

But a faithful one. WITH THE ACTING AND THE LINES. I WOULD GET GOOSEBUMPS. Amazing, epic, memorable.

I feel like I'm going through all the stages of grief with Yuri On Ice - Ice Adolescence cancelation.

At first I was like "oh nooo, I really wanted to watch this movie". And then, by seeing everyone making art and talking about how much this story meant to them, I got reminded of that too. This story is really meaningful and remarkable, and really, really great. I got reminded of all this love and excitement, patient waiting for more.

I'm so angry at MAPPA, who had their chance for 7 years to work on it. Way before they started getting busier and busier with more and more works to adapt. Waaay before.

I'm also very, very sad. I love this story. I still feel the rush and the chills of listening to the opening, remembering the characters and the memes and all the amazing art the fandom - who loved it with their whole hearts - made. You can feel the love and care and endearment for the characters by their arts.

It's so unfair. We waited. We were patient. We celebrated when the official arts came out. We hoped. Just for canceling it at the end. You really, really could've done something, MAPPA.

It feels like an ending, and I hate this.

Yuri On Ice, you will always be loved. Always.
