It works too! tried it myself
Debora in a Fancy Getup:
For context, on the Hey Arnold Amino, I was in a private chat with some people and I wanted to show a rough sketch of what I wanted Debora to look like with formal hair. Then somebody asked what dress I would have her wear and then I did a quick sketch of what I had in mind before I even finished the hair. After I finished finalizing both rough sketches, I was satisfied with what I had, at least until I can color it in. However, Leskuh dropped by and decided to make her own aggie.io sketch of my rough design because she thought it was cute. As usual, I was okay with this because how can I say no to surprise free art of my fan characters? Leskuh lent me the .psd file afterward so I could decide on what colors I wanted. So yeah, lineart is definitely Leskuh’s, but I colored it. I wanted to show this as a preview to what I have planned for her formal look whenever I get around to doing my own outfit lineup for the character.

I already established that I headcanon Shelly and Flips' obsession with hip-hop is linked to a tragic backstory but I never had anything concrete in the details. I just pinned it down to an absentee father somehow. Now I finally got something. I headcanon that Flips' dad was black and Flips is actually bi-racial. However, because he completely takes after his mom, he appears basic Caucasian (I Googled it to make sure it was possible. It is, it's just not that common). His father died from something (very specific lol) when Flips was around age 11. So, to cope with the trauma and to feel closer to the dad and his culture, they go all in on hip-hop. No matter how hard Flips tried to connect with others in a culture he truly wanted to be accepted in, he was always seen as a poser and unintentionally offensive. So he had no choice but to accept that was just how things were and continue genuinely loving hip-hop. No one's going to stop him from being him. Anyway, that's how I'm explaining how Shelly and Flips aren't trying to be posers and appropriate hip-hop for the sake of appropriating it.
I understand if you still want Flips to just be a basic, white boy poser with no covert bi-racial genes. I just thought this idea could give Shelly and Flips interesting depth and a reasonable origin for their hip-hop obsession.
Lookie here, more lovely art by @drawthething ! I really love how DT draws Willow based on the last commission with her in it, so I asked for more. :3 I'm responsible for all the dialogue. It's just so much fun making dialogue for these two. I don't know if any of this dialogue would be canon if I ever end up making a fanfic with them involved, but they were fun regardless. Even though WIllow will never be canon in Bob's Burgers, she's canon in heart! Just as long they never show Tina and Katie's art teacher, she's canon to me. XD If that happens, I don't know maybe I'll rework her as an oc for an original series. I really do love this character design concept. Anyway, enough rambling. Thank you so much DT and I hope you all enjoy the cuteness! X3
Hooray! I finally got this out. I have been wanting to update and say that I was redesigning Debora's parents and also making her an orphan that got adopted in the process. So in short, I plan to retcon the backstory I have for Debora and will give her a new one. I was inspired a bit by Anne of Green Gables to make Debbie an orphan. Enough about Debora though here's some info about the parents before I one day actually go into greater details on backstory stuff. Zayden is an Irish/Welsh/Italian man that can play the Welsh triple harp and is a good cook. Amalie is a Swinomish/Bitterroot Salish/Black woman that met Zayden when she was abroad in Italy for college. I think I want her to be a special ed teacher for a time until she does something else, but I honestly am still workshopping that one and hopefully can think of something a bit more extravagant of a career for her. Still trying to figure out if I want Zayden to be a cook in a restaurant or he just happens to be good at cooking and does something else for money. Now for the bio parents. To make it short, they're both dead and it impacted Debora greatly, more so her mother's death. Debora doesn't have the best feelings for her bio dad as shown with the x on the photo. Sorry, I couldn't elaborate more on them, but hopefully, I can go more into detail one of these days. As for the story that my character is in, "As Time Goes By". Since that is an au version of Debora, that story would still use the old version of Debora's parents. Just makes things easier since her parents in that story are basically a more tame version of her bio parents anyway. Anyway, that's all. I hope you like the designs and I hope to develop all of them more in the future.
I have been rewatching some Bob's Burgers episodes and now I am going to show my headcanon of when Zeke first came to Wagstaff. TLDR version, I think Zeke became a student at Wagstaff between 4th and 7th grade. I think my safe bet is either 5th or 6th grade unless I find more evidence. Here's the evidence of how I came to the conclusion. So we know that Zeke wasn't there when Tina, Jocelyn, and Jimmy Jr. were in third grade because in the episode, "Can't Buy Me Math" Jocelyn immediately reveals that she remembers "the pee thing" while neither Zeke nor Tammy comment on it (Also wanted to bring up I know Darryl said 2nd grade but keep in mind he's a grade lower than Tina and the rest). Tammy doesn't because she wasn't there when it happened because she became a Wagstaff student in 8th grade. Jimmy Jr. left before we could ever find out if he remembered. Tammy and Zeke would have definitely commented on remembering it if they knew about it, one being more malicious about it than the other mind you.
So to me, I think it's safe to say that Zeke wasn't with them during third grade. I don't think Zeke was in Wagstaff in 4th grade either because in the episode, "A Fish Called Tina" We get a flashback of 9-year-old Tina with other students. Jimmy Jr. and Jocelyn are in the flashback, but not Zeke. Lastly, in the episode, "A Few Gurt Men" it is revealed by Mr. Branca that someone tried to flush down three spoons last year, which Zeke apologized for. So it's safe to say Zeke was with them during 7th grade and didn't just recently transfer to Wagstaff in the 8th grade like Tammy. So because of the evidence I gathered so far, I think between 4th and 7th grade is when Zeke moved and became a student at Wagstaff.
My guess is 5th or 6th grade until I see something that contradicts it.
Just thought of something I’d do for fun and to give my thoughts. I’m only doing Arnold and his class. I don’t want to overload myself with characters.
Arnold: I see him becoming a guidance counselor for PS118. He wishes to help bring a brighter future to Hillwood and to help kids through their problems. He didn’t like the idea of asking for so much money as a therapist. He also still helps his parents run the boarding house.
Gerald: I believe he would become the next radio DJ of MJZZ. He loves it there, but he’s also trying to offer his voice to audio books as well because he misses telling stories like the ones he did as a kid.
Phoebe: She decides to become a college professor to help mold the minds of future world builders. She originally was going to be Helga’s editor, but life happened and she decided to live herself and give Helga time to heal on her own. She misses her, but she feels it’s the best course of action for both of them, no matter how painful.
Harold: After blowing his one shot of getting a college degree in football, he becomes the butcher he dreamed of as an early teen.
Sid: Since one of his dreams jobs was archaeology, I think he would most likely become a museum curator. I think he’s too paranoid to actually explore the world and be an archaeologist, but museum curators have to have knowledge in archaeology though. I thought it would fit, but I also think an actuary job fits him as well. XD
Stinky: After all the times he got pushed into a trash he believes it as a prophetic sign from the “Mystical Disembodied Voice” to become a garbage man (you can just hear Helga saying, “Stinky you’re an idiot.”). He still maintains a proper garden and sells the harvest every now and then, but not many people in the city would buy from a place called “Stinky’s Stand”.
Rhonda: She tried to make it as an actress, model, and even a fashion designer, but none were successful. Her parents grown sick of her wasting money on her temporary dreams, so they tell to either get a job, follow the family business in stocks, or they’ll cut off her ties to their bank account. So now she work’s at the Gammelthorpe‘s dry cleaners to pay off beauty school in hopes maybe she’ll run a beauty salon. She growing tired of broken dreams and seriously considers marrying for money every now and then.
Nadine: She becomes an entomologist. It was the most fitting since of her undying love of things creepy and crawly.
Sheena: She becomes a home health nurse because it was originally a way to prepare for Eugene’s inevitable need of constant medical attention. She eventually does it for herself because she genuinely likes this line of work with or without Eugene.
Eugene: He moves away to become a musical theatre actor in California. However, fate had different plans. Instead he settles for becoming a stunt double in comedy movies. Even if he’s no more than an in-between shot in a film, Eugene is just happy that his dream has technically come true. He still hopes one day he will be the main protagonist in a bigtime musical one day.
Curly: He ran off with Eugene to make it as a star as well. He a bit more successful than Eugene do to his over-the-top personality. He still doesn’t get the best roles, but at least he’s not a stunt double. I like to think Eugene and Curly would have an “Odd Couple” type of friendship when they’re trying to be famous.
Lila: Thanks to the help of Olga she became the famous ballerina she always wanted to be. She gets to tour with a crew and dance into everybody’s hearts. Even though her dream has come true, she misses Hillwood, even more than she ever missed Pleasantville. So choosing her friends and family of Hillwood over ballet, she quits her dream, and becomes a ballet teacher instead. She also gardens on the side. ;3
Brainy: He moved to Elk Island and became a woodsperson… (I don’t know think of something better!)
Lorenzo: He’s rich...
Helga: Not getting into the college of her dreams was one of the worst days of her life. Arnold and her broke up, Arnold left to go to college in another state, she never got to say goodbye to him, Phoebe left for the college of her dreams, and Olga was permanently staying in Hillwood to become an actress. She had never felt so low and pathetic. She was never one to wallow in her pain though, so she hardened up, and kept moving forward with her life. She went to a community college in Hillwood to have some form of education until she can figure out what she could do next. She worked two jobs, Slausen’s in the day and El Patio at night. She needed two to save up for whatever she was going to do next and pay the rent of her apartment. There was no way she was staying in the dump her parents called a home now that she was a legal adult. Eventually, she finally decided to become a teacher. She always enjoyed telling people what to do, so might as well boss a bunch of 4th grade, snotty nose brats. She also did it for the vacation hours, so she could have time to hone her writing passion and make a novel. Without Arnold in her life though, she lost any inspiration she had to write left. Now there’s apparently some new guidance counselor she had watch out for. “Guidance counselor, what a load of… Arnold!”
Since we were denied aged-up designs of the Belcher kids in "What About Job". I decided to use my models & put them in the clothes they had in Bob's story. I didn't feel like doing Jimmy Jr. since he was the only one with reused attire
I tried to give Zeke a different hairstyle for his captain attire but I didn't want to part with it. I can't see adult Zeke in anything but a mohawk now. I'll still keep my fingers crossed for the day we get official aged-up designs for all the Belcher kids and friends though.
Reblogging because the changeling post is what originally inspired me character design-wise for creating one of my fancharacters with Asperger’s syndrome and I’m just happy I finally found it again.
“If autism isn’t caused by environmental factors and is natural why didn’t we ever see it in the past?”
We did, except it wasn’t called autism it was called “Little Jonathan is a r*tarded halfwit who bangs his head on things and can’t speak so we’re taking him into the middle of the cold dark forest and leaving him there to die.”
Yay! Thank you so much I love it! It’s fine, I would of been happy with the one but I appreciate the extra! Poor Zeke, he’s great at the grappling part of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu but that’s about it.
Maybe Jimmy Jr. and/or Flips White Fudge can help train him to be more flexible. XD
Thank you again for doing my suggestion!
Oooh martial arts buddies
(He's trying to show her a cool training pose but poor boy's a little stiff)
OOOH BUDDIES
Thanks @qilin-crusader for suggesting these two precious kiddos. I would love to do your pun off idea but I'm not good at wordplay pffft. Have an extra though :D
I think after "Yes without my Zeke" Tina might loosen up on Zeke's troublemaking so he gets to stay at Wagstaff. Cuz ya know, maybe she doesn't mind too much having to "share" Jimmy Jr. Maybe she's grown to have a little soft spot for the smelly stocky boy
Just a she/her that loves animation, creating characters, and shipping a lot. Commissions are closed, sorry.
