A short Dark Fantasy game made as a submission for the Spooktober 5th Annual Visual Novel Jam, being worked on during the month of September.
This game is set in an already existing universe, but can be experienced as a standalone story.

Halloween might be over, but not at WNIF! So here it is, u a second Halloween edition Issue! Next to the regular WNIF stuff we included a recommendation section full of the best games to play in this time of the year, so be sure to check it out.
We want some feedback!
As weâre starting to get a hand of things, we would love some feedback from you guys! What you enjoy, want more or less off, how we could improve... Anything goes! We even have a nifty form!

~ EVENT SPOTLIGHT : BITSY JAM ~
Fuu, already #85?
Bitsy is a little engine for little games, worlds, and stories created by Adam Le Doux that makes game making look easier than ever! I mean really! You can use it to make a game in your browser just by drawing it! Thanks to the simple pixelated graphics and limited colour palette you can make basically anything from simple short stories to complicated masterpieces.
The first jam (with a yummy theme: Breakfast) took place on April 8th 2017. Now itâs a monthly occurrence, each time with a new challenging theme that the creators themselves (or even possibly you) get to vote on.
Petrichor, temporary, intentionally bad, tomatoes, no dialogue, long distances, secret place, bitsy fest jam, lost media and waiting are just the ten most recent ones. This monthâs theme is game manual - the theme can be the core of the game, or just a small reference. Anything really. The main point of this jam is to have fun and make something! (Just make sure that your game is made in one of these: bitsy, mosi or bipsi.)
So why not give it a shot?

Phantasia Jam is a three month-long game jam to create a fantasy narrative game, with the theme of âHidden Magicâ. Thereâs 17 submissions to check out.

It come with sad news that me (Bex) is having to leave the ZineâŚ.for now at least.
I joined back in August and honestly it was crazy time, especially with the sad passing of Marjorie. I honestly enjoyed what weâve made of it and donât regret it in the slightest. Life has sadly go in the way of me and I just donât have the time to continue you this on. Iâm hoping the New Year will bring peace and with it me back to the Zine.

Spooktober Visual Novel Game Jam - Judging is LIVE!
And we got our game finished!
Hi and welcome everyone!
It's been a whirlwind this September but I'm delighted to annaounce that Travel Devil is live and a part of the jam!
It's a short VN about a botched demonic summoning turning into the adventure of a lifetime. Our host, Tornacense, finally escapes the administrative department of hell to pursue his dreams of becoming the hottest new content creator on Doomtube! But will all this exposure lead to unwanted attention from the upper echelons of demon society?
Travel Devil was made in collaboration with Robert from Valhallions. He was fantastic to collab with and got stuck in with all aspects of the game.
I worked on the coding, character design, image manipulation and GUI. I'm so glad we got it finished on time! It was a mad rush at the end and there were times we weren't sure we would make it. I'm still so tired but so happy!
Also, I can't wait to try the other entries in the jam. This is my favourite time of the year, it's going to be so much fun!

Lydia's Labyrinth has received some wonderful feedback during the Spooktober Visual Novel Jam. We aimed to make a choose your own adventure story with a healthy dose of mystery and a cute and deadly host and thanks to some helpful comments and suggestions from amazing players, we're going to bring out a game book of the story đ
It's going to be the first book in our "Choose Your Fate" series and we hope to bring many of our ideas and stories to the table under this project. The sketches above are for dividing sections of the story and feature props and elements from Lydia's game.
Thanks to everyone who has played our game! It's the most downloaded one we've ever made and it really means a lot to me and Robert.

What a wonderful night for a quick throwback! I'd like to introduce you to the game which started my Spooktober journey.
You play as Penelope, who's just about ready to give up on her dream of being a singer, until she finds an audition notice for the opportunity of a lifetime... An audition for a reality TV show on a private island which turns into a fight to survive and may see some dark truths come to light.
Truly Sublime was created for the Spooktober Visual Novel Jam two years ago and it's nice to look back on it. Back then, this was my second game that I had published so it's got a couple of rough edges but I want to leave it as it is until I get time to make a shiny, better version.
There was so much cut from the game to make it work in the jam's timeframe so it might be a fun one to return to one day and explore the untold stories, especially with the character Lucinda. She had her own story and endings planned too.
