I had the heartbreaking revelation that Hizashi can blame himself for... all the hero deaths in the war arc.

Previously, I thought that Hizashi could realistically blame himself for what happened to Aizawa (himself being the reason Aizawa was there in the first place) and Midnight (being away at the police station instead of fighting) but he can blame himself for ALL the hero deaths.

Hear me out. He was in the front lines to destroy the incubation chamber for Shigaraki. That was his one job. He did break the chamber, yes, but Tomura still got up. The moment he broke the incubation chamber was also the moment the doctor went to wake him up. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT HIZASHI JUST WASN'T FAST ENOUGH and it isn't hard to believe that.

The main cause of death in the arc was Shigaraki's decay, because he woke up. Hizashi failed.

Now imagine, Hizashi replaying that day over and over and over again while waiting for Aizawa to wake up. Imagine him remembering that split moment and everything comes crumbling. He failed everyone.

He. Wasn't. Enough.

And so many more people were hurt and... he's sitting there...

Unharmed and perfectly fine.

Head-canon time!

Present Mic goes to visit Kurogiri/Shirakumo after the war arc, alone, because Aizawa is still in hospital. He doesn’t put his hero costume on, firstly because he’s just plain exhausted and tired of dressing up, secondly he knows this is Shirakumo and he wants his friend to see him, Hizashi, this time. Mic is quiet for a while, and then just whispers, “She’s dead. She’s gone.” He looks up at the window and says louder, “Kayama’s dead! She’s dead! Aizawa’s in the hospital, with only one leg and one eye. Please tell me that means something to you!” He jumps out of his chair, knocking it over in his haste, and approaches the window, ignoring the voices over the intercom warning him to keep his distance. “Kayama’s dead!” He shouts, quirk activating and shaking the whole room. “Aizawa was nearly killed too. And I was nowhere near! I couldn’t do anything to help them, Oboro, nothing.” He leans forward, resting his forehead against the glass, and closes his eyes. Silver tear tracks shimmer down his cheeks. “Come back to us, Oboro, please,” he whispers. “I need you to come back. I can’t do this alone.” Inside the cell, the black mist begins to wobble.

I was about to sleep, then this song played in the radio and my brain thought of them.

Midnight gives the best gifts! She understands what Eri likes best without needing much explanation

She buys so mANY CUTE ACCESSORIES FOR HER!!!

Eri thinks she's so pretty but doesn't exactly know how to talk to her after being basically only exposed to dudes up to this point

Eri attaches herself to Midnight when she sees her genuine smile- like the small closed eyed one

It reminds her of her mom :,)

Its also the one of the reasons Eri doesn't smile like Aizawa or Mic. Imagine this 6 year old with either of their smiles- I dont know which would be scarier tbh-

She's got colored nails! SHE ALSO WANTS COLORED NAILS!!!

Eri learns so much and ends the day with pastel pink fingernails with small stickers on them. She spends a lot of time just looking at them, a small smile on her face.

When they spend time together, she tells her funny stories about Mic and Aizawa when they were students

Eri just sits quietly and listens- brO SHE FEELS LIKE A DELINQUENT OR SOME- liKE THESE EMBARRASSING ASS STORIES ABOUT HER GUARDIANS- SHES NOT SUPPOSED TO KNOW ABOUT MIC DEAFENING THE WHOLE CLASS CAUSE OF AN ANT THAT TURNED OUT TO BE FUCKING LINT BUT SHE DOES NOW-

These stories help her laugh more- she was previously scared of laughing at adults, yknow?

Aizawa and Mic are glad for that but goddammit Kayama- SHE DID NOT NEED TO SEE THEIR YEARBOOK PHOTOS-AUSDHAOUH

For every event. Midnight helps her get ready.

Imagine Eri having a date. You have to get vibe checked by ALL the teachers but when I say Midnight gets serious. She gets serious.

Just as terrifying as Mic. I honestly think Aizawa trusts Eri's judgement and doesn't bother getting involved in this so yeah!

Eri goes to her for the best advice on life being a girl in general

Sometimes that means telling the truth but Eri admires the realness Midnight brings to the table.
