The fact that in both scenarios, Katsuki took izuku's extended right hand with his left hand so they stand NEXT TO each other instead of in front of (like how you normally accept a hand that is reached out to you to help you) is so precious. He wanted them to stand by each other's sides for the rest of their lives.
Hence:
I wonder if it was his intention in this panel too or not:
(k0fi) dabi being an awkward flirt <3
The fact that pro hero Katsuki doesn't give a fuck about the rankings anymore means that it was always about Izuku.
He just wants to compete with Izuku; it's all he cares about and always has.
Nothing really means anything if Izuku is not by his side.
That's why he spent eight years saving money for that hero suit and making sure every piece of it was perfect for Izuku.
Honestly tho downplaying the todofam's abuse, dysfunction, and trauma really irks me. Especially, like, I commonly run across people that claim Touya wasn't abused despite seeing him be emotionally and physically abused on screen multiple times. Esp with the physical abuse I see being written off or completely denied which is like.... Guys, Endeavor grabbing this small child by his shoulders, shaking him and yelling at him, or yanking him up by the arm and pulling his clothes up and clearly being in a rage is physical abuse.
Okay, he use harsh training on him, didn't smack him in the face or beat him (on screen, this is debatable esp considering how frequently Enji manhandles Touya) - This is still physical abuse. Sure, Touya didn't seem traditionally "afraid" of his Dad, even when Enji was abusing him- this is still abuse and if anything this is more alarming because it means he normalized being treated like that, being roughed up, manhandled, yelled at, basically body checked and ridiculed for self harming. Considering how unsurprised Touya acted, it's likely this was a frequent thing.
The fact people ignore or write this off because it's not directly spoonfed to them is crazy to me. The fact people insist he wasn't abused at all when he was constantly subjected to grooming, physical and emotional abuse, neglect, and abandonment basically from birth until he was 13 (where he was then subjected to more trauma at the hands of afo, and likely even more trauma after that for the 7 years he was on the street) is completely bonkers to me.

Dabihawks is not about what we get in canon (which is close to nothing), it's about the possibilities. It's about dabi being destined to be a hero like his father but becoming a villain and hawks being destined to be a villain like his father but becoming a hero. It's about both of them being amazed by endeavor and for it to save one of them and destroy the other. It's about touya and keigo who could've been best friends but dabi and hawks ending up enemies.
I'm still mad at horikoshi for dropping this art and not giving us a full-on gut-wrecking childhood friends backstory. The Touya reveal could've been even more heartbreaking (not that it is not already very heartbreaking) if hawks was counted in. Like just imagine having one and only friend that understands you, that lives through a horrible training like you and is your only source of comfort, and then one day your handler tells you with a cold voice that this person just died. No further explanations, no more informations, and then you're all alone again trying to become one of the best hero in this fucked up society.
And then during an undercover mission you notice that one of the villains in the League has the exact same eyes as your long lost friend (because the eyes are the only thing you remember), and you can't stop thinking about the possibility of him being alive but it's destroying you to think that he maybe became what you hate. But you can't help feeling drawn to him, until the betrayal and then BAM, revelation : your friend is alive but you can't save him.
And then Hawks has to live with the fact that the only friend he ever had is bound to be killed by his idol, and with the fact that this said idol is the one that hurt his friend on a so deep level that his friend doesn't even remember what it's like to feel a warm embrace or a comfort feeling. That his idol is exactly like his own father who violated him at such a young age. That the first person he wanted to save is unsavable. That the one he wanted to be a hero for is unsavable.
This would've been SO GOOD.
Dabihawks angst save me save me dabihawks angst.
breakup was so bad it was broadcasted on national television
a universe without you would be thoroughly mundane
