This has probably been done before but I’m so curious! Reblog for a bigger sample!!
HE DIED 9 TIMES?!!!! all at once?! i need a detailed description of tigerstar dying the book did not give enough
I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet. Towards the end of Guardians vol 3, when Rocket sees Lilah, Teefs, and Floor again, they're not "whole." All four of them still have their enhancements. To me, this detail is so important.
As disabled people, we have a history of being told that, when we die, when we go to heaven, all of our illnesses, deformities, ways of being in the world will be gone. We will be cured. But for many of us, we don't want to be cured. If there is an afterlife, and I'm not autistic, I wouldn't even know the first thing about how I would exist as that. More importantly, I wouldn't be myself.
Like disabled people, Rocket, Lilah, Teefs, and Floor didn't get to choose their existence, their bodies, their minds. They were made that way and, very realistically, could not imagine being any other way, despite their pain and suffering. Even in most modern media, disability is a plot device that, when its purpose has been served, gets cured or written out of the narrative. Having all four of them being disabled in the afterlife is so goddamned important.
Day 6 - Favourite Windclan cat.
« Kill me. Kill me and live with the memory. Then tell the stars that you won. » - Gray Wing
One of my favourite quote ever, along with the Sun Trail's quote. Day 6 of @otterplush 's WCTOBER.
The character here is Firestar from Warriors. I'd tentatively recommend reading the books if you haven't, but I'm not confident people will like it as it has its problems. Although most of the problems show up after the books that feature Firestar. He's supposed to be a Somali cat here. There wasn't any reason for drawing him. I just default to cats with my art experiments because they're easy to draw. And I did a study last night and I wanted to put the stuff I remembered to good use.
I'm trying to experiment with art that mimics traditional art, specifically the doodles I like to draw in class and stuff. This was really my first attempt and I think it turned out good so yeah!
Also, this is my first art piece of the year! Well, the first finished one. The New Year's Redraw is coming... eventually... I'm not too fussed about that coming out on time because I'm not usually on time with them anyway. One of them took four months and another was just never finished because it looked so ugly. This year's version will hopefully turn out very good, but I'll have to see. Anyway. Thanks to all my followers and stuff, and here's to a good year. Maybe I'll even open commissions.
And while there may be no justice for these men on land, the sea is unforgiving.
The noble Fireheart and his majestic kin
