IT’S NOT ‘PEEKED’ MY INTEREST
OR ‘PEAKED’
BUT PIQUED
‘PIQUED MY INTEREST’
THIS HAS BEEN A CAPSLOCK PSA
Something possessed me to draw a sketch for ClearSight x Listener art and I don’t know how to feel about it-
Edit: Link to the Drawing!
We just don’t think about it-..
I personally choose to believe that hive wings developed naturally overtime and would’ve appeared whether or not clear sight showed up
i havent read book 11 since 2018 but from what I remember, hivewings are literally just a nightwing silkwing hybrid right? how exactly does a whole tribe form out of that? either clearsight had to be having hatchlings with every silkwing orrr there was a lot of... sibling relationships?...
.
A tip for excellent writing I just learned: Don't introduce a character with their Dramatic Backstory. It makes readers go "oh alright this is the Dramatic Background Story Character" and establishes a baseline of Tragic, either for the story as a whole or this character in particular. With no contrast of light and dark, pure darkness isn't impactful, it just looks like the absence of anything to look at.
If you really want someone's dramatic backstory to hit the audience like a gut punch, let them get to know the character first. That way the dark backstory doesn't come off as a description of who they are, but an explanation to why they are the way they are. Bonus points for connecting it to something that's already been established as a part of the character - what a devastating blow to suddenly put together that hold on, that funny quirky thing that they always do is a fucking trauma response.
Ah yes, the peaceful noise of the city :)
trash birds being quite silly
The countdown to Invisobang 2025 begins! For those of you who don't know, Invisobang is a collaborative event for authors and artists. Over the course of several months, authors write fanfics and artists create art for those fics!
If you want to connect with other creators in the Phandom, this is the event for you!
Authors begin writing as soon as they sign up. Their goal is to write a fic with 5000 words minimum, although there is no maximum. Halfway through the event, they anonymously submit a profile of their fic.
Using these profiles, artists pick the fics that interest them the most and submit a claim. Mods will pair up authors and artists based on these claims.
During the second half of the event, authors finish their stories while artists make their art.
At the end of the event, participants share their work during posting week to create a big bang of content for everyone to ooh and aah at!
Invisobang runs from February 14 to September 7. Author and artist sign-ups are staggered, while beta sign-ups are open for the first half of the event. You can sign up through a Google Form that will be posted with the opening announcement.
Authors: February 14–March 15
Beta readers: February 14–June 15
Artists and pinch hitters: May 16–June 15
The event is hosted through the Invisobang Discord. Participants must have a Discord account and be willing to join.
Co-authors can sign up in teams.
Artists must be able to make visual art or music, although you can make alternative art if your author is interested.
All content must be made new for the event, which means no continuing posted wips. Sequels and prequels to existing works are allowed, as well as ideas you’ve had sitting on the back burner (as long as they haven’t been posted before)
See the Invisobang info doc for information on rules, frequently asked questions, and the event schedule. If you still have questions after that, send it to the blog, or dm a mod (@kinglazrus, @bibliophilea, @strawberrycamel, and @underforeversgrace).
Leo had learned pretty quickly that sleeping in high places like in trees, or in areas where he had a wall against his back like a dead in the alleyway, were the safest places to sleep.
Now he has an extremely hard time falling asleep anywhere where he can’t sleep in a corner of the room, or high off the ground.
(also, he’s now an extremely light sleeper)
Everybody share their Feral Street Kid Leo hcs pls I need more.
I’ll start- Leo fighting a monster at some point by making himself look bigger and hissing at it. Surprisingly, it works. His friends look at him like “wtf” and he just shrugs and says, “I grew up on the streets, and monsters aren’t that different from racoons.”
He also definitely fought some weird-ass racoons that looking back he realised were monsters.
Ideas for colors for ref, but when I actually color it, it’s most likely going to be darker shades, and less saturated
