Merry Christmas Everyone!!
...Or Holidays if you don't celebrate Christmas...
Anyway!! I have a small Christmas sketch for the holidays! :p
Introducing... GIYUU!! I put a lot of time and effort into this 7 second drawing. I mean, look at his face! It take a few tries to make it look that depressing. I'll try to get something done by the new year to make it extra special. If I don't, expect more of my fabulous sketches ✨️
I bet raph goes like 🤯 whenever April go big sis mode but Donnie AND leo snickers at his reaction as well.
Bro is NOT prepared for the little brother treatment!
YOU. YOUR AU REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF PUPPET HISTORY AND I LOVE IT SO GODDAMN MUCH!!!!!! THIS MAKES ME WANT TO DRAW THE PROFESSOR AND DR PINE OR SHANE MADEJ AND STAN INTERACT INSPIRATION HATH STRUCK THEE.
This made me go rewatch a ton of puppet history (Thank you) and now I have. So many ideas.
First of all, it’s important to note that by the time Puppet History rolls around, Stan is already retired. He started doing this puppet thing in the late 70s, early 80s, and just being in show biz that long is TAXING. Nothing really happened to Dr Pine, he just passed off the Science Teacher title off to another, up and coming puppet, and Dr Pine officially retired sometime around the 2000s. Dr Pine will OCCASIONALLY do Tv appearances, usually on talk shows or charity performances (you guys remember when Elmo appeared in congress and testified for music education? Dr Pine does that. He’ll be in a suit, fur neatly brushed, and go be a witness for science education based cases, stuff like that) but otherwise Dr Pine is kind of. Old news. He’s still beloved and cherished, remembered with fondness, but he doesn’t really do shows anymore
That being said, one day Stanley Pines opens up his newfangled laptop (from mcgucket enterprises) and finds that he’s just been invited to guest star on ANOTHER puppet based show, not Poppy Avenue. A smaller, YouTube based show called Puppet History. The invite actually comes from Chirp, (a social media platform he’s barely on) and it was more just. An open invitation sent out into the world.
No one (besides Poppy Avenue people and a few family members) actually know that Stan is Dr Pine, so no one actually knows how to CONTACT Dr Pine.
Stan very promptly calls up Puppet History, and asks when he should show up.
(To be clear, he calls AS Dr Pine. I imagine the Dr Pine voice is about as hard to do convincing as the Donald Duck voice, so IMAGINE the shock on the other end of the phone)
Within a month, audiences are straight up DUMBFOUNDED when THE Dr Pine pops up on the Puppet History show. To be clear, Dr Pine is not behind the stage, he doesn’t show up from behind the curtain, he IS a guest, and therefore is battling Ryan for the coveted cup of the History Master.
Which means Dr Pine (the full body puppet, one leg crossed delicately) shows up for one of his first media appearances in literal years, and it’s all while absolutely WIPING THE FLOOR with Ryan by answering every single question correctly. He may be a science guy, but history isn’t difficult.
Every adult on the set of Puppet History is a little star struck, and when Dr Pine drops his pen (yes it’s the PUPPET writing the answers, Stan is that good) and mutters a “oh shit-“ everyone LOSES THEIR MINDS
It’s like hearing bob ross or Mr Roger swear, it’s unbelievable
As for Dr Pine and The Professor, Dr Pine implies that the Professor was an old student of his, and that while the Professor had more of an interest in history, Dr Pine says that he’s very Impressed by the puppet history show. Shane genuinely almost cries
Dr Pine answers a few questions about his retirement (he pulls out a photo of Himself, along with two younger looking puppets, and declares them his great niece and nephew, and talks about how proud he is) about science education nowadays, and once he wins the title of history master (cmon. Of course he was going to win)
Dr Pine looks directly into the camera and picks up a jellybean, holds it up, and goes “A certain colleague of mine in the scientific community is very fond of jellybeans, but I doubt he could ever beat me in a fight for the title of history master”
The top comment on the YouTube video is Dr Stanford Pines, PHD, threatening to burn Dr Pine’s house down. (Ford ends up on Puppet History a month later, and that episode goes on twenty minutes longer than the rest because the two doctors will not stop arguing, and the footage is too good to cut)
