all thisĀ ācentering menā discourse is making me lose it i thought we were over this 4 years ago. anyway hereās the thing. even if a bi woman is dating a man or talking about wanting to date a man, sheās still notĀ ācentering menā. bi women are autonomous beings within our own lives that choose to cultivate relationships that fulfill US, that center OURSELVES. this idea that us daring to cultivate those relationships with men or reference them in any way isĀ ācentering menā is just indicative that you think of us as nothing but extensions of these men and itās deeply misogynist.Ā
yo being black and depressed is hard as fuck. being black with anxiety is hard as fuck. being black with a chronic illness or disability is hard a fuck. everybody expects you to be āstrongā at all times and no one sees black people as complex or nuanced enough to be capable of suffering. no one ever thinks we could possibly need help. and if youāre a black woman, the moment you stop thinking about others and try to tend to yourself youāre a selfish lazy ungrateful bitch.
support black people, esp women, who need help. donāt just call us strong or tell us weāll get through it, help us. protect us. uplift us. allow us to be beings capable of suffering. give us the same space youād give white women to express our pain and be there for us like you would for anyone else.Ā
Pro-homeless posters seen around Seattle. The poster message and itās design is a direct response to an anti-homeless poster campaign in Seattle a week earlier that used the headline: āSEE A TENT? REPORT ITā
