-Part One
-Part Two
"I moved my head to look at the cabinet behind me. When I turned again Sherlock Holmes was standing smiling at me across my study table. I rose to my feet, stared at him for some seconds in utter amazement, and then it appears that I must have fainted for the first and the last time in my life. Certainly a grey mist swirled before my eyes, and when it cleared I found my collar-ends undone and the tingling after-taste of brandy upon my lips. Holmes was bending over my chair, his flask in his hand. “My dear Watson,” said the well-remembered voice, “I owe you a thousand apologies."
(this is in the Watson's Sketchbook series! but it's also a great standalone to send to your friends to illustrate why sherlock holmes is gay)
also - shoutout to @haedraulics for doing a sketch of mid-hiatus Holmes with long hair that captivated my heart so much I needed to include that idea!

THE SASS YOU GIVE THIS MAN WHEN DRAWING HIM IS GOURMET FOOD!!!!
As you might have noticed by my reblogs for the past couple of months I’ve just been absorbed by Sherlock Holmes (particularly the original books and the Granada tv show). I used to be an avid fan back when I was barely 11 years old, but back then with a very limited internet connection and only having access to a video store in a small Spanish town I only had the books to read and a couple of SH movies, mainly “Young Sherlock Holmes” and “The Great Mouse Detective”, to supplement my book-reading marathon. BBC’s “Sherlock” didn’t fully hook me up because I’ve always been more of a fan of the Victorian setting and it’s only now, after 20 years, that I have discovered Granada and the BBC Radio plays and the Soviet show (and rekindled my love for the Guy Ritchie movies). I am head over heels in love with these characters and Holmes made me remember the very first time I questioned my gender expression and orientation.
It’s a shame the t*mblr purge probably got rid of so much art I could otherwise have devoured, but the little I have seen makes me feel so warm and fuzzy, and even if I’m not very active here (I’m trying to post more art on Twitter or even Instagram) I hope you all like what I have sketched on the side.

Granada Holmes: The Golden Pince Nez
"Now you can look at me."
This scene was so precious and important. Holmes using his scarf to cover up the blood stain because he noticed how miss Dalton, the maid, was distressed by it is him showing that he sees her as a person, not just a witness to get information out of. Its one of the many little treasures that this series gave us that highlighted the kindness and compassion of Holmes that makes it so special and why we love this silly detective man.
