Chapter one of my new de-aged bakugou fic is posted on ao3 as of earlier today! Had it in my files as “katsuki self-love agenda” lol but the official title is frenemy is far too simple a word
Check it out if you’re interested!
Begging kindly asking for comments :)
i’ve been writing a lot of i7 drabbles/ficlets lately, and I’m open to requests! (someone save me from the stress of college pls)
the two I’ve finished so far are Ringing Hearts and Morning if you wanna check ‘em out :)
Is Izuku the anxious cheetah while Katsuki is the dog in the cage meant to make it feel safe? Or is Katsuki the cheetah and Izuku the dog?
katsuki and his emotional support dog <3
sprints are fr my life-savers lmao. it's not guaranteed, but whenever I sprint with other people, I consistently get sooo much more done than I would otherwise. I really should employ them more often aaa. I'm writing quite well these days, but I don't expect to keep this pace up forever, so I'm just buffing up my word count for the inevitable drought lol
today's word count: 1273/800
so, I think I started act 2 today? the previous chapter does very much feel like the end to act 1 lol. which is good! I'm getting somewhere! WE'RE GOING PLACES AHHH. still, the fact that I'm almost 30k in and I'm just now ending year 1 is... um... 💀💀💀 well, okay, it makes sense, BUT STILL... oh boy
snippet (for context, Quilin has a condition which makes any plant matter he eats multiply extremely rapidly in his stomach, so he's essentially deathly allergic to it):
“Yes, there are many types of mutations we have yet to encounter,” the man sighed, adjusting his thin glasses. “Say, at what rate approximately do plant cells multiply when exposed to the affected tissue?” “Quickly,” Quilin said, very clipped. “Never thought to time it, however.” On the account of being in the process of dying was left unsaid. Which, should be noted, took no small amount of self-control. The man nodded, entirely unfazed. Either he was ignorant to Quilin’s annoyance, or he simply did not care.
wdym u never thought to time the speed at which death approaches . lame
see ya tmr

for my sprint i did 25 minutes total and wrote 1,019 new words for my mha fic Short For Grenade (link to the post explaining this fic concept is here <-). honestly i was typing like a madman for this one
i added a scene set at dagoba beach (which is not covered in trash for the sake of the grenade the dog AU) and finally started writing about grenade's talent for tracking! i had intended to have kota, eri, and the kids from the island show up as characters to bicker with katsuki but ended up just including eri for now
im excited to finally start showing izuku's progress with feeling more at ease around dogs (and having his relationship with katsuki become more friendly as well!)
happy writing everyone!! im so happy to see people participating in this!
Writing sprint tag game!
(Even if you haven’t been tagged, you are happily invited to participate!)
Here’s how the game works:
1) set aside some time to complete a 10-20min writing sprint, breaking up your writing time and break time however you see fit (I’ll prob do 10 min writing, a 5 min break, and then another 5 or 10 min of writing)
*if you want to do a shorter or a longer writing sprint, that’s totally fine too! 10-20min is just a low-pressure guideline
2) complete the sprint!
even if you cringe at the words you put down, the point is simply to get more words on the page than what you started with, so write that awkward sentence! skip that fiddly bit to write the scene you have inspiration for! anything new that ends up on the page is progress and anything you don’t love can always be edited later
3) have fun :)
remember, this sprint is a little nudge to help you reconnect with your creative writing. it’s 100% low-pressure, anything goes, and we’re all in it together 💪
4) share your sprint results
this part is totally optional but if you’d like to play along, reblog this post (or copy-paste the rules into a new post) with as many (or as few) answers as you feel comfortable sharing
*and if you make a new post, pls tag me so i can clap and cheer for you!!
how long was your sprint?
how many words did you write?
*anything more than zero is great!
what project did you complete the sprint for?
what did you end up adding to your WIP (or new project)?
*no need to share specific lines since the sprint’s focus is quantity over quality, but absolutely go wild with the overview. did you add a whole new scene? a new character? important dialogue for character development? a fun side quest you hadn’t planned on? an interesting bit you have no idea what to do with?
what part of your new writing excites you the most?
5) connect with your fellow writeblrs!
tag people in your response post to keep the creative energy flowing and offer encouragement and kudos to those who participate and share their progress!
gently tagging my writing moots to get this started:
@peaceheather @antsday @moody-tortured-artist @agirlandherquill @ohromeoraine @sorrowsfallallaround
shoot me a message or comment if you don't want to be tagged in these sorts of things (or if i haven't tagged you and you would like to be tagged in the future for writing things)
Your mystery question is here! :)
Moon: Does your character have a dark side? What makes their dark side come out?
Ooh, interesting. I'll answer this one for my character, Sylas, and the answer is...yes.
Sylas is young and desperate and hurting, and that sense of desperation leads him to justify certain actions which I think can count as him having a dark side.
In the very beginning of the story, Sylas finds his estranged brother's address after years of fruitless searching only to have his phone stolen by his childhood bully/frenemy and in a heat-of-the-moment type decision where he can either save her from danger or his phone (with the address pulled up) he chooses his phone and it takes him a while to even admit to the other characters that he left her behind and she needs to be rescued
