“W-What are you doing?” Toya’s quick movements to shove stuff in a backpack stopped hearing Shoto’s voice enter his dark room. “Come here,” He whispered out, lighting a small blue flame from his palm to see his younger brother. The left side of his face was bandaged up as earlier their mother poured boiling water on his face. Toya tensed up, his eyebrows furrowing together at the resentment he has towards his parents. 

“We’re gonna play a game, okay? But I need you to keep this between us, alright?” Shoto nodded, his free eye shining with excitement. “You’re going to go to your room, pack some clothes and then meet me outside under the tree, okay?” Shoto nodded once more, his hands into small fists. “Okay go on,” With that, he left to his room being quiet. 

Toya opened his dresser and pulled out a box full of cash that he stole overtime from Enji. Stuffing it into the bookbag, he stood up and took a look around his empty room. ‘I have to do this.’ He reminded himself before slinging the back over his shoulder and slipping out through his window. He proceeded to jog over to the tree. Leaning against the tall trunk, he tapped his fingers against his arm waiting for Shoto. 

Within a few minutes, he saw his little brother exit the front door and jog over to him. “I got my bag ready, what now?” Toya bent over and picked up Shoto in his arms. “Now, we go on an adventure.”

The morning sun coated the town in a burnt orange color. Toya looked over at Shoto who was fast asleep in his arms, wrapped with his jacket. By now they had reached the Shizuoka Prefecture. The only town that he could access by walking. ‘I need to hurry, he’ll find out soon.’ The thought of getting caught made his blood run cold. They both endured a lot, he couldn’t begin to what would happen if their father found them. What would happen to him, to Shoto. 

Shaking his head to get rid of the thoughts, he walked to the subway station. Purchasing two tickets, he entered the cart and sat down, holding his younger brother close to him. The only plan he had was to take the train to Tokyo, Japan hoping you would be there. The fact that their future was running on pure luck made him furious but it was a situation where he had to gamble it all on his one lead. 

The other day he had seen you on the news, doing Hero work for your internship program. He tapped his foot against the metal floor, his nerves getting the best of him already. The trip itself was 4 hours give or take, but he couldn’t keep wondering what if. Maybe rest would do him good, but he refused to doze off surrounded by strangers. He had to keep an eye on their stuff and on Shoto.

Within 4 hours, they arrived at the Tokyo station and Shoto woke up just in time. “Where are we?” “Tokyo.” He kept a tight grip on Shoto’s hand, not wanting to lose him in the crowd. “What about mom and dad?” His heart tightened at his words. “We’ll see them soon don’t worry. Are you hungry?” He nodded, his bi-colored hair shaking with the movement. “Let’s get some food then.” 

They walked to the closest restaurant who was serving mainly breakfast. For it was currently 7am. Toya waved over a server to which they were seated in a booth against the window. “What are you feeling like?” He looked at Shoto. “What can I have?” “Whatever you want.” They both settled on getting Omurice and peach iced tea. A small smile graced Toya’s features seeing Shoto so at peace for once. ‘I have to do this.’ 

They continued further in Tokyo, Shoto carrying a to-go order of cold Soba. In the distance, there you were. Talking to some classmates. Your (h/c) shining in the sunlight, making you look ethereal. “(_)!” He waved his arms at you to catch your attention. Excusing yourself from your classmates, you ran over to him. “Toya? What are you doing here?” “We need to talk,” he glanced at Shoto, “Somewhere private preferably.”

“Are you crazy?” You whisper-yelled to your friend, after hearing his plan. “What would you have done if I wasn’t here?” “I don’t want to think about that.” Taking a moment to think what he said over, you watch Shoto feeding the Koi fish. A heavy breath released from your lungs. “If you’re serious about this, then stay with me. Next week I get deployed in Seoul, Korea. He won’t find you guys there.” Your last words were whispered. He nodded, taking your hands in his and squeezing them. “Thank you,” He whispered back.

You felt numb. Could numbness really even be a way to describe the painful emotions you were feeling right now? You felt as if nothing was going right for you, that things were crashing down around you. No matter how much you tried to pick up the pieces and put the broken shards back together, how painful it was for you to do so, it didn’t matter. Nothing made sense, and it was if you couldn’t get a win. You just wanted one win, just one. All your life, you always tried so hard to do the right thing, to be a shining light for people. But you felt like it was fizzing out, you felt like the light was becoming dim. 

You felt yourself get up but didn’t really process it. You felt yourself walk to the bathroom before shedding your clothes and turning the shower on, again not really processing as you sat down to let the water run off of you. You didn’t realize how long you had been in the shower until you heard the door to it open up, seeing a pair of tan boots in your line of sight before you looked up to see your boyfriend, Hawks. 

“Keigo….” you croak out, realizing that you haven’t made a sound all day while being home by yourself.

The cheers of several high school girls made its way into your ears. "Who do you wanna bet that's for?" You nudged Josuke with your elbow. He laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. "(💙)!" They all shouted, grabbing your arm and trying to get your attention. You let out a chuckle then tried to calm down the raging crowd. Unbeknownst to you, however, your boyfriend Okuyasu had fallen back behind everyone else. He understood why you had all the attention on you. Just like Josuke, you were quite attractive to other people. But it bothered him immensely how they always separated you from him just to gawk at you. 'Come on, you're better than this.' Okuyasu shrugged off the negative feelings and caught up with the rest of his friends. "Oi, Oku, where's (💙)?" Josuke inquired. "He's kind of busy. I'm sure he'll catch up soon!" The rest of the group continued on their way to the main entrance of the school.

Currently, the bell had already rung for the first period to start. The empty seat in front of him stirred his nerves. "💙?" The teacher called out for attendance. Josuke and Okuyasu exchanged a glance. Josuke shrugged his shoulders as if to say, 'I'm not sure.' The door to the classroom suddenly slammed open revealing you panting. "I'm here! I'm sorry!" You bowed your head while you apologized, then you sat down. "I'll let it slide this one time." The teacher replied and then continued with the rollcall. You turned around in your chair to get a glance at your boyfriend, who currently had his head resting on the desk. "Oi, Oku." You whispered to him. He turned his head to the side and glanced up at you. Digging through your bookbag, you took out a video game case which is why you were late, to begin with. "I got your favorite game!" You beamed at him. Okuyasu sat up immediately and looked shocked. "Where did you get this? It's not even out yet!" He took the game that you handed to him. "Well-" "Certainly I don't hear two students interrupting my lesson, do I?" The teacher disrupted you. You laughed nervously as the whole class laughed at you two. With your index finger and thumb, you traced over your own lips as if to zip them close while smiling at Okuyasu. He grinned back at your antics.

Before you knew, the school was over for the day. "💙!" Glancing ahead, you saw Okuyasu and the rest of your group at the gate waiting for you. He was waving to you frantically. You give him a small wave as you make your way to them. "💙!" Your body tensed up hearing the girls behind you. It was such a pain to escape them earlier, how could you evade them now? One of them latched onto your arm and started tugging on it. Once the rest of them joined, they began asking several questions. In your peripheral vision, you saw Oku's face drop down in what seemed to be a disappointment. You apologized and excused yourself to the girls and you chased after your boyfriend. He currently walked behind everyone else, mentally beating himself up. 'Maybe (💙) would be with someone else. Preferably someone just as attractive as him. Unlike me, no one really pays attention to me.' Okuyasu kicked a can down the road to let out some of his frustration. "Oku!" You finally managed to catch up to him and you grabbed onto his uniform sleeve. He raised an eyebrow up at you as you bent over to catch your breath. "Do you want to come over and try out the new game?" That's all you had to say for the negative thoughts to escape from his mind. Okuyasu's face lit up, you intertwined your hands together and made your way to your home.

Kicking off your shoes, Oku followed you in a familiar route to your bedroom. "Start it up whenever." You spoke to him as he sat on the floor in front of your television. "I'm going to grab some snacks for us real quick." You bent over and placed a kiss on the top of his head which caused the color to flourish on his face. He looked around your room when you left, at all of the posters you had, to the several blankets on your bed, all in a tangled mess. You soon returned with a tray of various snacks plus two of your favorite drinks. Taking a seat on the floor next to him, you placed the items in front of you two. "💙?" You hummed in response. "Do you ever feel like...you want to be with someone else?" The innocent question brought butterflies to your stomach. "Why would you say that?" You place your hand over his. "I dunno, I just think you would be happy with someone who looks as nice as you..." He ran a hand through his hair, messing it up in the process. You smiled and grabbed him, pulling him into a tight embrace. "I don't want to be with anyone else."

“YOU LOOK SO HANDSOME!” Hange basically screaming at Levi. He glared daggers at her. “I can’t believe you convinced me to do this” He grumbled. “I didn’t convince you. In fact, no-one did.” The brunette replied, fixing his suit. “You took this role by force when you found out that (Y/N) was also going undercover.” Levi remained silent, but still seething. Once Hange left the room, he took a good look at himself in the mirror. While she was right about him jumping at the opportunity of going undercover with (Y/N) as a couple, it wasn’t for the reasons that she thought. Or that anyone thought for that matter. He just thought you weren’t competent enough to pull this off all on your own. At least that’s what he’s trying to convince yourself.

A gentle knock at the door brought him out of his thoughts. “Heichou?” You spoke softly, opening the door slowly in case he wasn’t decent. “What?” “The others are waiting for us.” He glanced over at you, taking in your appearance. Your (H/C) was out of it’s usual up-do, instead, pouring over your shoulders and perfectly framing your face. You wore a simple but pretty (F/C) dress that matched your (E/C) eyes perfectly. “Oh um. Thank you for joining me.” You smiled warmly at him. “Tsk. A deep inhale arose from his slightly parted lips. The end of the cigarette became a glowing orange, the smoke filling his lungs. Holding his breath, his bright cerulean eyes bore through the ceiling. His mind was a tattered mess just like him. He breathed out through his nose, the smoke being lighter than when it first entered his lungs. A soft vibrating resounded throughout his mattress. Propping himself up with his elbows, he glances over at his device. The screen lit up, revealing some missed calls and unread messages from her. His nose scrunched up at the sight of your contact name, and he placed his phone face down on the bed. Laying back down, he took another long drag. His phone began vibrating again, only this time it lasted longer. He flipped over the phone to see the reason. You were calling. Pressing the decline button, he unlocked his phone to view your messages. Scrolling until he reaches the most recent one, he decides to reply. His heart twisted uncomfortably in his chest at the sorrow your texts conveyed. 

His message only contained an ounce of sympathy but was mainly avoidant and distant as to why he hasn’t been responding. Ending it off with a goodbye, he powered off his phone to prevent his phone from being spammed by you again. His expression dulled as he stood up and walked over to his dresser, opening to get out an assortment of alcohol. Twisting off the cap and flicking it off, he drank straight from the bottle and threw himself back on his mattress. He closed his eyes, enjoying the subtle feeling of the room spinning. Drumming his fingers on his chest, he slightly nodded his head along with the music he had blaring. The persistent knocking on his door caused him to open his eyes. His forehead creased, he knew who’s at the door already. “Dabi!” He heard your muffled cries. However, he couldn’t bring himself to get up. Whether the reasoning being the alcohol tainting his movements or the guilt that suffocated him. He knew what he was doing wasn’t fair to you. But he didn’t have the willpower to stop. Or to hold you close. His eyes darted to the doorknob that was twisting but failing to open. “Can we please talk?” Your voice tinged with sadness. He decided that it would be better for both of you if he didn’t move. His mind was whirling as his eyelids fluttered closed.

He stopped momentarily, letting his friend catch up to him. “What are we doing again?” ♡ cocked their head up at Todoroki. He gave them a small smile, “Just buying some things for later tonight.” ♡ thought back to yesterday, where he came up to them, asking if they had any plans at all. To which they responded with a shake of their head. He followed it up by asking if they wanted to hang out together the next day. ♡ agreed, wanting to spend more time with him. 

♡ wrapped their jacket tighter around their frame, as they trailed behind Todoroki in the store.”What do you have planned for tonight?” ♡ asked, watching Todoroki stare at an aisle full of different types of crackers. “Well... I wanted to try this one food I saw in a show. I thought you would like it too since you like sweets.”♡’s face heated up as he mentioned a small fact about them. “I didn’t think you’d remember...” Todoroki chuckled at them. “I don’t see why not.” He decided on a popular brand of crackers and hauled ♡ to another aisle. This time, it was full of sweets and candies. ♡’s eyes widen in awe, looking at the varieties of candy. “Pick a chocolate bar,” Todoroki gestured at the chocolates with the bag of marshmallows he was holding. Deciding on (dark, milk, white) they handed it to him and followed him to the cash register. 

Todoroki set the small bag on the picnic table. “Unpack these.” ♡ nodded as he brought out two metal rods. They unpacked the snacks, breaking the crackers in half and putting chocolate in each as Todoroki explained. “Um...” ♡ pointed at the rods, as if to ask him what he was planning on doing. He stuck a large marshmallow on the ends of the rod and created a small fire on his right hand. Once it was a golden brown, he set the marshmallow on the cracker/chocolate mix and placed another cracker on top. Todoroki repeated the actions for the next marshmallow. 

“Let me know what you think,” The two of them grabbed a s’more, and took a bite. “Wow, this tastes good!” Todoroki chuckled to himself, hearing ♡ exclaim about the treat. “I wish we could eat these more often.” ♡ shook her head in agreement, knowing their strict hero diet wouldn’t let them eat such a treat often. The two huddled next to each other, ♡ enjoying the small bit of heat that his left side emitted. “♡...there’s something I want to tell you. But I don’t know if I can,” His head tipped downwards. ♡ studied his face, seeing a solemn expression. “You can always talk to me about anything,” ♡ pressed him to continue. “Well...I have a crush on you...” He trailed off, turning away from ♡. Their body tensed up in shock. ♡ replayed his confession throughout their head over and over again. “Todoroki I-” “Shoto.” He looked back at ♡, smiling warmly at them. “Shoto, I...love you.” His grin faltered a bit. “I don’t know if we can be together though.” He admitted. ♡ raised their eyebrows at him. His heterochromatic eyes glanced at their expression. 

“Why not?” “I’ve never...actually been with someone before. This is my first time being around people my age.” ♡ frowned, remembering how he told them that he was rarely allowed friends or to even be around his siblings when he was younger since he was deemed a child prodigy by Endeavor. “It’s okay.” ♡’s hand intertwined with his, as they beamed at him. “I’ll wait until you’re comfortable.” Todoroki felt his heart beat faster. What did he ever do to deserve someone like ♡? “Thank you.” He squeezed back their hand.
