70% of all FiM episodes genuinely bring me to tears. It's not like I'm sobbing over them, but they definitely leave me choked up. There are so many messages and moments in the show that are so powerful and resonate with me so much more now that I'm an adult than they did when I was a kid.
The show addresses themes like growing, changing bad habits, acknowledging when you're wrong, and caring about yourself, those around you, and the world that you live in. It leaves me thinking how much better our world could be if we all had a little bit of faith in each other to do better.
I just finished watching S7 E13, where we learn about Applejack's parents. That's what sparked this rant. Grandpear crying and saying "I never should've left" genuinely BROKE something inside of me. You're telling me this 90 year old man abandoned his daughter for marrying someone from a family he didn't like, regrets it 40 years later AFTER HIS DAUGHTER IS DEAD? And now he's genuinely trying to change and to connect with his grandkids. Yeah, this is a show for kids, but it's so much more than that, too.
I just think she's neat đЎđŚ

Do yâall see the irony of this scene? It genuinely had me giggling. Because in S4 E6 of FiM âPower Poniesâ, Pinkie Pie has the power of super speed due to getting sucked into a book where she becomes the fictional character Filly Second. But in Equestria Girls, Rainbowdash gains the power of super speed during Equestria Girl: Legend of Everfree. During the short âMovie Magicâ, Rainbowdash (with the power of super speed, in case you forgot) gets stuck next to Pinkie Pie, while dressed as Filly Second, who has the power of super speed. Itâs such a cool detail between FiM and Equestria Girls and itâs one of those things you have to be in the know to know, and I know so I think itâs great.
I just finished watching the Rarityâs Peak Behind The Boutique shorts, and Iâve gotta say, I genuinely enjoyed them. The shorts that are put out between seasons and movies are so fun to me! We get to see some extra filler content without it taking up entire 20 minute episodes. These shorts in particular I really enjoyed all of the throw backs to outfits that Rarity has designed in earlier seasons. I never really realized how many of her designs genuinely impact the plot!
I also canât help but think about how these shorts take place after she has opened her boutiques in Canterlot and Manehatten. I can imagine Rarityâs reaction to being featured in her own news segment or appearing on TV for up-and-coming designers. Itâs more detail about how successful Rarity has become, compared to how it seemed like a far-off dream in the beginning of the series. These shorts fuel me, I wonât lie.
In case you want to watch them yourself, the names of each short for Rarityâs Peek Behind The Boutique are âFashion Doâs and Donâts,â, âFashion vs. Functionâ, and âCustomer Critiquesâ.

Bro is leafing.
Certain bronies made it weird... Ęâ ಠâ _â ಠâ Ę
When hello kitty girls say they like hello kitty,no one bats an eye.
But when i say i like my little pony ,suddenly Iâm weird.
I didnât mean to start a debate, but since weâre at it . . . .
Starlight was a broken and lonely pony. She didnât want to be alone, and she hurt people in an obscene way to achieve that. Obviously, the things that she did was terrifying and I also think her redemption was rushed (discords redemption arc is the only one I truly adore in FiM) but after her initial redemption she struggles to fit in and cope with how terrible she was to ponies. We see how her horrible actions hurt her later in life as well. Chancellor Neigh Say literally flipped like a switch (I have only finished season 8, so if his redemption is more fleshed out in season 9 I may backtrack this opinion, but donât give me any spoilers). He went from extremely racist and hell bent on destroying Twilight and everything she has built, and one incident toppled him on his head and turned him into a good guy without any repercussions for the things he did and said and how he treated literal CHILDREN. Do yâall realize that? He chained up innocent CHILDREN. He doesnât deserve a redemption arc because his only justification for his horrible treatment of non-pony creatures was simply that. Because they were non-ponies.
If a character has such violently hateful opinions of other species and his entire personality was written around him being a pony supremicist, then no, I donât think he deserves a redemption arc. No one changes that easily, especially on that kind of opinion. If it was taken more slowly and dug a little deeper into his rooted dislike for other creatures, I could give him a chance. But not with the knowledge I currently have of him. But again, Iâve only seen up until season 8, so any actions he may take in season 9 could very well change this opinion.
I just finished season 8 of FiM.
Chancellor Neigh Say shouldn't have been redeemed.
