Right now, my idea for the story would be about Zayd's tedious repetitive life being interrupted by a chance meeting with a small group of queer people that enjoy his company and want to hang out with him, though he can't understand why.

He'll try doing what he thinks will keep them interested in being friends with him, not realizing he's sabotaging himself. Along the way he'll be learning to deal with his depression and untangling his internalized homophobia and self hatred.

I'm super early in the planning process but I like how things are going so far! I've been wanting to write a character dealing with depression for a while.

I started making miniature dioramas for fun during the pandemic, and my on-and-off project this autumn was making the k-science lab from Pacific Rim. With the exception of the dollhouse cup and books, led light, modeling clay and resin, the supplies were all found items I accumulated over time and kept in a “bit box” in my office (a la Studson Studio).

Definitely some details I could’ve done differently (the resin I tinted turned out too opaque to properly see the kaiju brain inside), but every diorama I’ve made has been higher in detail and quality, so hopefully the next one will be better.

The way the 40k setting glues skulls and purity seals to everything constantly reminds me of Decora Kei fashion, so fuck it, Decora Kei Space Marine. You're welcome.
