As a whole, we should stop telling people who make art to "just do it for yourself even if no one sees it. You should only be doing it for fun because you like it". I say this because it always comes from those who don't have a passion for an art form. While yes, that should be your reason for creating, feedback is so crucial for things meant to be reacted to, specifically writing pieces. Stories are made to be read, to make people feel something. It can also feel incredibly discouraging to spend so much time on a project just for it to get lost somewhere, only responded to with silence.

For me, my writing is not complete until its been perceived by another person. i don't write to the void, i write to be heard.

specific tropes in romance that always heal something in me that it never broke

like, forehead kisses, soft love confessions, peppering kisses all over the lover's face. promises that are kept, hands those are held with a gentle love, and hugs that engulf the heart too.

or when they rest their head on your chest, or lean on you for support.

"your tears kill me," kinda thing. or when a sunshine character finally cries and bawls their entire life's hurt out into their comfort grumpy character (plus point, if the grump feels guilty thinking if they had done something to trigger this emotional outburst)

communication. no matter hard the topic is, how big your differences are.

listening to the other person yap

admiring their facial features and seeing not just the outer structure but the person that they really are.

them getting angry on ur behalf

cradling each other in hugs basically

feeling emotional walls break when you're with that one person particularly

gentle communication. yearning to do more for your lover (!!!!)

affectionate smiles and eyes crinkling with a smile that's directed specially at you.

finding their laugh contagious.

the feeling of being accepted, despite flaws and all

silent domestic acts like being in the kitchen together, dressing up together, them drying ur hair while u sit between their legs

occasionally stolen kisses

or one deep kiss that just lights your world and fulfills your soul and heart.

sleepily nuzzling into each other!!

reaching for each other despite being asleep, with mumbled endearments and whispers of need!!!

laughter coming easily by their side, like happiness is just another day to day thing (this can also be about self love. when u truly love urself and prioritize your own rights and cherish the fact that you're you. happiness becomes beautiful even in solitude)

their fingers buried deep in yo- OOPS.?! :)

hey if you're the type of writer that's like me where you tend to write specific scenes first that vaguely weave together into a plot, you might like using obsidian as a writing app.

my frustration with other writing applications is that i will write my scenes out of order and it's hard to move things around and rearrange them on a regular document.

but with obsidian there's this canvas feature where you can just write all your scenes and plot moments on these little cards that you can freely rearrange. you can color code them and connect them too.

here's the canvas i've created for my current multi-chapter fic: (if you zoom in you can see all the text in each card this what it looks like zoomed out)

Hey If You're The Type Of Writer That's Like Me Where You Tend To Write Specific Scenes First That Vaguely

as you can see, i color code them based off chapters and will group them next to a document card with the working title of the chapter. anything not color-coded are scenes that don't have a proper place quite yet or it's just world building references. this app can also be good for note-taking and collecting research!

best of all, it's FREE!!! the only downside is that if you want your stuff to sync across devices, you do have to pay for that. i constantly hop between my laptop and desktop so i pay for the syncing. but if you write on only one device it's completely free! EDIT: some reblogs have mentioned that you can apparently link your own personal cloud storage (dropbox, gdrive, icloud, etc.) to obsidian for free! that way you can access your obsidian vaults across multiple devices without the extra fee. i don't mind supporting the devs but just something to look into if costs is a concern.

i typically use it for organizing my thoughts for a first draft. once i get all the scenes arranged and mostly written out, i will copy and paste them into ellipsus (also free & highly recommended as a google doc alternative) so that they're all in one document that i can edit.

as someone with club foot, PLEASE WRITE MORE CHARACTERS WITH IT☹️ also it can be disabling, and it can affect the knees, hips, and ankles if comorbig with another condition; commonly knock-kneed. another thing though is to avoid "curled", it just sounds weird; curved is a good alternative with the same effect

How To Write Club Foot Characters

A guide to writing club foot.

To understand what club foot is, you need to understand it's causes. You can't develop club foot in your life, you develop it in the womb. It can be from how you're positioned, how you develop, etc.

Club foot is the twisting of a foot in the womb. It is a birth defect.

History (Earlier "Cures")

Note: the only reason why I put "cures" in quotes is because of continued nerve damage that'll continue for the rest of your life. However, people who undergo successful treatments can live a normal life.

400 BC: Hippocrates described manipulating the foot and placing them with bandages, much like modern day treatments.

1834: The Thomas Wrench was discovered. It was used to forcibly change the position of the foot.

70s-80s-90s: This is when surgical treatments became popular. There are a lot of methods for correcting club foot, but the most popular are postero-medial release (PMR) which entails the extensive release of the contractive soft tissues of the clubbed foot/feet. Surgical treatment can give the foot a more "normal" look and ensure that the patient can walk on the foot. This does not erase any nerve pain, though, as overtime the foot can become stiff, weak, and show early arthritic changes. This is why this practice kinda fell out of practice.

The Conservative Technique:

Casting and wrapping to stretch the foot/feet and molding the bones so that it's less painful and the patient can walk on the feet/foot.

LANGUAGE:

What language do you use to describe club foot and what to avoid.

Words to Avoid:

Gross

Disgusting

Anything related to how "gross" the characters foot looks, or how the mc wants to "throw up" at the sight.

Words to Use:

Curled

Clubbed/club

AIDE:

Mobility aide is something many need as they get older, some even use it when they're younger. The list includes:

Crutches

Canes

Wheelchairs

Braces

Walker

Please let me know if you have any questions (I'll add to this post)

It's not an "abandoned" WIP, I didn't intentionally leave it in the forest to die and forget about it, it is a lost wip who wandered into the forest despite my pleas not to. I sit at the edge of the forest every day and hear it calling for help but there is nothing I can do. It is a haunting wip

Sibling dynamics are kind of an untapped gold mine in media. Relationships between siblings can be so weird. We experienced the same childhood but in very different ways. I helped raise you. You helped raise me. You’re the only person I’ve ever really punched. You drive me fucking crazy but if anyone ever hurt you I’d chase them to the ends of the earth. You’re the only one who understands what it was like to see our parents slowly come to hate one another. Stop stealing my fucking socks.
