bakugou hates it when you don't take good care of yourself. no matter whether he's your friend or a lover, doesn't matter if he's just your roommate, he can't stand it at all. it pisses him the fuck off.
he sees way more than he lets on, making it impossible for you to hide; when you brush past a question about whether you've eaten or not, he'll clock it immediately and when the bags under your eyes grow darker, he'll see that too. he notices the stupid things you think nobody would and it's weird to feel so seen by him.
he'll check the fridge and take note of the food that's still there, but he won't say anything – without asking whether you want it or whether you need it, he'll make you something on his own. he knows what you like and he knows what you don't like, he knows exactly what'll make your eyebrows raise up in surprise and what'll make your nose scrunch up in disgust. he'll prepare the meal and he'll give it to you with a huff.
sometimes he'll just let you eat in your own room but sometimes he'll try to lure you into the living room with him. and it's not even about him making sure that you'll finish it or anything, he just wants to eat with you. he's trying to be as gentle as he can because he realizes that a lecture would only make the matters worse; so, he'll simply put on a film he knows you'll like and he'll take his seat on the couch while waiting for you to join him. no pressure, no harsh words.
there are times where he'll be a bit more straightforward, though.
if he catches you ignoring some of his questions, about you drinking water etcetc, the likelyhood of him calling you out on it is high. he doesn't have time for that – he'll interrupt whatever you were rambling about and he'll demand an answer. silence will do, if that's all you have for him. he won't even give you a reaction, he'll just urge you to continue on with your talk while getting you a glass of water.
he gets straight to the point and there's really no point in trying to fight him.
you not dressing correctly is also something he'll immediately reprimand you for because where the hell are you going like that? no scarf on a windy day? he'll click his tongue and throw you his. no gloves during winter? he'll come back the next the with a completely new pair that he'd gotten for you. at the time, he might even chuck a pillow at you and tell you all about how he won't take care of you if you were to get sick.
and you'll laugh because you know he's lying, and he'll tut and avert his gaze.
because he knows he's lying.
oh, and he will nag about your messy room.
while cleaning it.
at first you think he's just there to mock you but then he's actually dusting your shelves and folding your clothes and taking away your dirty dishes and when you finally pull yourself together to tell him to stop, he gives you a glare that would seem harsh to a stranger, but you know better.
just let me do it.
if you try to thank him for it, he'll pretend like it never happened. like you don't have anything to thank him for, even less apologize for, because well... in his mind, you don't.
he isn't mad at you, he's just mad at the situation. this isn't laziness and he knows it, and so, he'll do his best to make it better, to make it easier for you. he'll make you something to eat and he'll clean your room and he'll bark at you for dressing too lightly and he'll let you fall asleep on his shoulder without a complaint because this is his way of letting you know that he cares for you.
My life now depends on this duckie 🙏
"WE'RE NOT DATING!"
synopsis: the 1a girls have a lot to say about you and katsuki's not-relationship.
a/n: hahahaha more pre-relationship just friends trope (do not tell me i do this trope too much it brings me joy) also a lot of people asked for a pt two to my unofficalbf!katsuki hcs and this isnt quiiiite that bc there's not a whole lotta interaction w katsuki but uhm its smth. i have more wips abt this tho so theres a LOTTT more where that came from!
"even if we don't talk about anything important, i want to force it to be about romance!" mina exclaimed as ochako floated off in embarrassment at being questioned about deku.
"oh! speaking of! how long have you and bakugo been dating, y/n?"
you froze. "huh?"
"i don't know how you handle him! you're so sweet and cute and he's all 'die! go to hell! i am the king explosion murder lord!' y'know?" she added.
"he's not really like that with her, though. he's always a lot quieter she's around. you can see the way his eyes soften." tsu commented thoughtfully.
they all stared at you expectantly, waiting for you to answer the question, and you could feel blood rushing to your cheeks. "uh.. katsuki and i.. aren't dating?"
a beat passed. then another.
"WHAT?!"
"no way! i thought you two were dating for sure! he's always holding your hand and grabbing at you and acting all soft with you! wait, i literally saw him carry you to his room! how are you not dating?" hagakure burst out.
"yeah! and during our movie night last week, you were laying your head on his shoulder and he had his arms around you!" mina chimed in. "we all just assumed you two were dating like a given! what do you mean, 'you're not dating?!'"
"i mean, we're not dating! we're close friends, sure, but katsuki's never, like, asked me to be his girlfriend or anything! we're just tight childhood friends, that's all! he probably thinks of me as a little sister with the way he looks out for me, or something." you explained, waving your hands in the air frantically.
"y/n, i love you, but you're being as stupid as kaminari! no boy, but especially not bakugo, would ever act like that with a girl he wasn't interested in." jirou sighed. "there really isn't such thing as 'platonic cuddling' or 'platonic handholding' between boys and girls."
"well, it's normal for kids, you know? and katsuki and i grew up together, so it just kinda stuck!" you said, making a noble attempt at justifying you and katsuki's we-are-definitely-not-just-friends behavior. they all looked at you unamused.
the girls continued to bombard you with questions, each one getting bolder than the last.
"seriously, though, y/n," mina said, her grin wide, "how do you keep it together around him? you two are always so… cozy."
"cozy?" you blinked, trying to avoid their intense stares. "what do you mean 'cozy'?"
"oh, come on," she teased, nudging you. "you hold hands, sit waaaay too close, and don’t even get me started on the whole ‘sleeping on and cuddling with him’ thing. also, i swear i saw him give you a kiss on the forehead!"
"i mean, that’s just how we are!" you said, exasperated. "we’ve been friends forever! it’s not a big deal!"
jirou raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. "i don’t know, y/n. most guys don’t carry their girl friends to their rooms when they’re tired."
you froze. the memories flashed in your mind, and you couldn’t help the nervous laugh that escaped your lips. "i told you, he was just being—"
"overprotective?" yaomomo interrupted, practically reading your mind. "yeah, that’s what we thought, too. but i don’t know, seems a little… extra for a friend."
you groaned, burying your face in your hands. “this is ridiculous. we’re not dating! he’s not like that with me.”
they all stared at you for a long moment, clearly unconvinced, when suddenly, the door to the room swung open.
katsuki stood in the doorway, his signature scowl immediately visible, with kirishima and kaminari not far behind. "..what the hell are you all looking like that at me for? you got a problem?"
the girls didn’t miss a beat. mina jumped up, eyes practically sparkling. "we were just discussing how you and a certain girl over here are totally a secret item!"
you froze. oh no.
katsuki's eyes widened then narrowed as he stared at her, his eyes a mixture of grumpiness and fluster. "the hell?" was all he said.
“you’re always carrying her, holding hands, and let’s not forget you cuddling with her sleeping on you during that movie last week. with how comfortable you guys were with it, i'll bet it was far from the first time you guys have done stuff like that, too! you two are practically made for each other!”
katsuki glared at her, his fists clenching. "i don’t give a shit what you idiots think." his voice was sharp, dismissive, and he turned his gaze toward you for a moment, his usual annoyance evident.
you let out a nervous laugh, relieved that he wasn’t actually acknowledging any of the weird feelings the group was pushing on you two.
the girls looked between you and katsuki, still skeptical, but he wasn’t having it. he gave a quick, sharp glare to the group before glancing back at you. you failed to see the way his sharp glare softened ever-so-slightly when he did so.
“you’re all so damn nosy,” he muttered, turning to leave. "get a life."
he marched off grumpily, kirishima and kaminari now excitedly talking to him about assumedly the same topic. he slammed the door in their faces, but they were quick to scramble after him.
you let out a sigh of relief once they left, but before you could even speak, mina burst into laughter. "there it is! classic bakugo. totally in denial!"
"totally!" ochako giggled.
"mhm!" hagakure agreed.
"ugh," you groaned, face in your hands. "please just drop it already!"
the girls kept their grins, but the teasing finally slowed down. "alright, alright," mina said with a wink. "we’ll let you off the hook for now."
you exhaled in relief as the group slowly started to branch off into different topics, the heat finally off of you. you excused yourself for some water so you could get some air, and began heading back to the dorm rooms.
to your surprise, katsuki was already waiting for you outside the common area. when he saw you, he gave you a gruff nod of acknowledgement.
"kats! i thought you were going to bed!" you chirped, unaware of how your demeanor instantly brightened when it was just the two of you.
"i am," was all he offered before grabbing your hand and dragging you to presumably his dorm room to cuddle and hangout.
as you rambled and chatted with katsuki, hand-in-hand, on your way to hang out in his dorm alone, the words of your friends came back to you, causing a pink hue to rise to your cheeks.
..yeah. you two were definitely not "just friends."
a/n. currently watching single's inferno s4 and this is how it's going. inspired by that exchange between dong ho and a rin. specifically, dong ho's smile during. what the hell am i talking about. (0.9k)
“you really didn’t have to drive me all the way here, you know.”
you plop down on the spot right next to bakugou, who wordlessly takes the mug of tea you’re offering with a half-hearted glare.
“then decline the next time,” is his snarky retort.
you playfully roll your eyes, burrowing further into the plush cushion of your sofa beneath you, hands cupping your own beverage. “you say that as if you’ll let me commute this late.”
a tsk. “it’s called having a heart of gold, you idiot.”
you hum noncommittally, gaze fixed on the tv in front of you. “camie sure does think you have one, huh?”
when he doesn’t say anything for a beat, you chance a peek at the man, and sure enough, he’s looking at you like you just shat yourself. “hah?”
“camie?” you repeat, hoping the creeping embarrassment isn’t showing on your face. “the girl who—”
“i know who she is,” he spews defensively, before raising an eyebrow. “what about her?”
“you seem to go way back, based on how she regarded you tonight,” you quickly explain.
he stares at you for a second, as if trying to figure out why the hell you’re talking about utsushimi camie of all people, ultimately settling with a lazy shrug. “i guess? we ran into each other a few times back in ua.”
and when you don’t immediately respond: “why?”
“nothing,” you supply, before: “i mean, i could tell she’s generally a bubbly and outgoing person just from dinner, but the way she behaved around you was…how should i say—different, i guess?”
the pro-hero lets out a grunt, which is bakugou katsuki for keep going.
so you do. “for one, she seemed eager to sit beside you, even though yoarashi-san was the one to arrange the hangout, and i think you mentioned in passing once that she thinks shouto’s attractive.”
unsurprisingly, that grants you a side-eye. you backtrack.
“not that a girl wanting to sit beside you is unfathomable, but—”
“the fuck are you getting at, dumbass?”
you huff. “i’ll get there if you just let me talk!”
he shoots you another glare, before tossing you a curt nod. “fine.”
you fight back the urge to punch his arm. “as i was saying,” you enunciate, “there was something…remarkable about how she was acting.”
“how so?”
you ponder for a moment, not minding how the question just now was too sarcastic for your taste. “well, i didn’t really see her arrive because i was at the restroom, but she seemed to deflate when i came back and took my seat beside you. almost as if she was eyeing the spot.”
“you’re fucking imagining things.”
“okay, gaslighter. anyway, it wasn’t just that. her mood went back up a notch when you introduced me—so reluctantly it was embarrassing, by the way—as your best friend.”
he scoffs. “you’re the one who tagged along.”
“shouto invited me, you dickhead.” you frown, “when he called you this afternoon and i said hi, remember? he said you could bring me with you.”
“he was just being polite, that pretty boy.”
“and you’re being a fucking downer,” you quip, before crossing your arms in front of your chest like a petulant child. “i don’t know what camie sees in you.”
“hah?”
“see?” you exclaim, flinging your arms in frustration, “you’re not getting it because you’re not letting me finish. i have no idea how you didn’t notice, but her body was facing you the entire evening! she kept redirecting the conversation to you, too, asking you all sorts of questions.”
you’re not looking at him anymore, eyes darting all over the place as you continue. “and her giggles, man, you weren’t even being funny, but she was laughing like you had keke palmer’s humor, or something.”
“i don’t know if you’re feigning ignorance or just flat-out oblivious, which i doubt you are, but seriously, man,” you rasp, “i can’t believe i’m the one who has to do this, but open your eyes. the girl likes you. and—are you smiling?”
you cut yourself off, the jarring sight of bakugou grinning at you erasing every viable thought in your brain.
if you didn’t know any better, you’d think the guy is fucking amused.
you scowl at him. “the fuck are you smiling about?”
“nothin’,” he claims, although his lips are still pulled taut to the sides.
you shoot him a deadpan look, which causes him to let out a soft chuckle.
he shakes his head, shifting in his seat. “it’s just—i don’t know…”
“don’t know what?” you ask, brows furrowed.
“don’t know how you picked up on all this shit.”
your response is instantaneous. “it’s called having eyes, you idiot.”
if he’s even marginally annoyed at your semi-quoting him, he doesn’t let it show. instead, you can only watch in bewilderment as a faint tinge of pink starts to color his cheeks.
“yeah, well, i didn’t even notice any of that.”
“how?”
a glower.
“because i was just looking at you, dipshit.”

[ sfw ] — fluff ; bakugou katsuki x reader
“You’re cleaning that up,” you say, fixing Katsuki with your best exasperated look as you gesture to the mess in the bakery kitchen. Flour is scattered across the counter, eggs are cracked on the floor, and the sugar jar looks like it exploded in the crossfire. The chaos is entirely Katsuki’s fault—of course it is. Only your boyfriend would think it’s a good idea to try and put you in a headlock while you’re focused on baking a cake for tomorrow morning’s lineup.
He stares at the mess for a moment, and for a second, you think he might apologize. But this is Katsuki, and instead of contrition, his sharp crimson eyes flick back to you, and he grins, wide and mischievous. Before you can register what he’s about to do, he leans in and bites your cheek—not hard, but enough to make you yelp.
“Katsuki!” you exclaim, laughing despite yourself as you push at his chest. But he’s got that feral, playful energy that only comes out when he’s really relaxed, and he just tugs you closer, burying his face in the curve of your neck as his shoulders shake with laughter.
You squirm against him, trying and failing to escape his iron grip. “You’re impossible,” you mutter, but your words don’t carry much bite. He’s warm against you, his laugh rumbling low in his chest, and even though you’re trying to look annoyed, a grin tugs at your lips.
He doesn’t let go, and you can feel the smirk against your skin when he growls out, “Sh’ddup, Mimikyu.”
You roll your eyes at the nickname, but your heart squeezes in your chest. Katsuki has a way of making you feel like you’re standing at the center of a whirlwind—chaotic and overwhelming, but also safe, because it’s him. You’re pretty sure no one else on earth could wrestle with you in a bakery and make it feel like home.
“You’re being annoying, Typhlosion,” you shoot back, your voice laced with mock irritation. You try to wiggle free again, but his arms tighten around you, holding you steady.
“Yer lucky I’m so damn cute when I’m annoying,” he fires back, his voice low and smug, and the way he’s grinning against your cheek makes you feel like a puddle of cake batter.
The flour dusts the air, the scent of sugar and vanilla is thick, and the warmth of his embrace feels like the sea breeze from Ikema Island—soft, salty, and full of life. For a moment, you forget about the mess on the counter, the eggs on the floor, and the ticking clock that reminds you the cake still needs to be finished. All you can focus on is him, the way he’s holding you like you’re the only thing that matters in the world.
You pull back just enough to meet his eyes, and they’re sparkling with mischief, but there’s something else there too. Something softer. It’s in the way his grin softens just a bit, the way his thumb brushes against your side absentmindedly. Katsuki doesn’t say things like I love you often, but he doesn’t have to—not when he looks at you like this.
“Okay,” you say finally, your voice lighter now. “Fine. I’ll clean up. But you’re buying me dinner tomorrow.”
Katsuki raises an eyebrow, his grin turning cocky. “Dinner? You’re gettin’ takeout at best after the stunt you pulled tryin’ to fight me off.”
You shove at his chest again, and he catches your wrist, tugging you forward until your forehead bumps against his. “You’re such a little shit,” you mutter, but you’re smiling.
“Yeah,” he murmurs, smirking. “But you love me.”
He’s right, of course. You do. Even when he’s got flour in his hair and he’s ruining your perfectly planned night, even when he’s dragging you into his chaos, there’s no one else you’d rather have by your side.
You sigh dramatically. “Fine, you win. But you’re still wiping up the egg.”
He scoffs, releasing you but not before planting a quick, rough kiss on your temple. “Yer lucky I even put up with you, Mimikyu.”
“And you’re lucky I don’t fire your ass from my bakery,” you retort, already grabbing a towel and tossing one at him.
As the two of you get to work cleaning up the mess (well, you’re cleaning, and he’s grumbling about how he’s a Pro Hero, not a janitor), you can’t help but think about how this is what life with Katsuki is like. Messy, chaotic, a little annoying at times—but it’s also warm, full of laughter and love. It’s everything you never knew you wanted.

IN WHICH each time your friends caught bakugou only being nice to you.
a/n: still 'fool for you' just changed the title (≧ω≦)
“i've never seen him so.. calm.”
“right? he's always so uptight.”
the two friends were peering over the couch as they watched bakugou and y/n sleep soundlessly. there was a serene look drawn on his face while he held y/n closely to him, her hand resting softly on his chest as their chests rose up and down simultaneously.
“how come he's so much nicer to her than any of us?” kirishima complained with a pout stitched on his lips. he'd been friends with bakugou way before (two months) him and y/n got together. where was his special treatment?
“they're dating duh. why wouldn't he be nice to her?” mina replied as gazed at the couple with a soft gaze in her eyes. their young, teenage love was truly admirable.
even if bakugou seemed to have a stick up his ass 24/7.
the couple twitched softly in their sleep. it had been a long and stressful day of endless amounts of training, and lord knew that they both needed a break. a thin blanket was all that covered their bodies, but anybody could make out the way bakugou held her waist and the way y/n laid her hand on his chest underneath the sheet.
the usually quiet library turned into a circus as it filled up with bakugou's grumbling, denki's whines, and y/n's giggling. the sight of bakugou repeatedly smacking denki on the head with rolled up paper was an entertaining sight to distract her from her note-taking.
“are you seriously this stupid?” bakugou growled as he peered over the blonde's notebook, erasing and scribbling over any mistakes he made. denki pouted while rubbing his head on the spot that bakugou smacked. “c'mon.. it's really not that easy!” denki whined.
bakugou's vermillion eyes narrowed at denki. “it's basic algebra! how did you even get this far if you can't do simple math?!” he snapped.
denki continued to pout as he grumbled under his breath, something about bakugou lacking basic respect.
“uh.. katsuki?” y/n called out hesitantly.
though he still kept the glare on his face, the way his body language softened was visible, and how his tone contrasted from denki to her was plain obvious. “what?”
she turned over her notebook towards him so he can see her work. “i think i did it wrong.. can you check it?”
bakugou grabbed her notebook and skimmed over her work. “yeah.. here, let me explain.” he leaned over closer to her, close enough to where she can smell caramel on his skin.
denki's mouth fell agape as he watched how the guy went from raising hell on him to looking like he was practically skipping in a field of flowers inside his head. “that is SO not fair! how come you're so much nicer to her than me?!”
“cause she's not an idiot! keep working!”
it was far past midnight, and it was already one thing that izuku couldn't sleep, but on an empty stomach? it made it far much worse. he tried everything in the book from counting sheep to counting his breaths, but nothing could beat his racing mind and the sound of his stomach growling.
izuku didn't want to disturb anyone, but would it really hurt if he just tip-toed to the common room? he sighed as he ran his hand through his curly green hair, quietly making his way to the kitchen to not wake anyone.
but as he walked through the common room, a taller figure appeared in front of him.
“GAH!” he yelped, hastily smacking a hand over his mouth as he realized how loud he'd screamed. “shoto!” he half-whispered. “what are you doing?!”
todoroki stood still, his expression unwavering. “i couldn't sleep.” his direction turned towards the kitchen. “i wanted to get a snack, but i think someone is in there.” he said.
that's odd. it was almost one in the morning, and the only people that izuku thought could be awake fell asleep ages ago. he asked todoroki who it was but he only shrugged, showing he only heard the person but never checked who it was.
he never thought he'd be met with the sight of bakugou resting his chin on y/n's shoulder as she made them snacks.
“at 12:47 in the morning? that's way past bakugou's bedtime…” todoroki muttered under his breath.
bakugou's tone was softer, softer than anyone had ever heard besides y/n herself. “you better not burn it.” he huffed.
y/n giggled, slightly turning her head to face his side profile. “i'm not going to burn our snacks,” she assured. “i'm an expert.”
“expert my ass.”
“hey!”
izuku and todoroki looked like a deer in headlights looking at the scene before them. they wanted to walk away, believe them, they really did. but the sight of bakugou being so domestic was such a rare and amusing sight to see.
“do we… leave?” izuku suggested.
“i don't know…” todoroki answered. “this is really weird.”
bakugou’s head shot up from her shoulder and turned to look at the two voices faster than the speed of light. his ruby eyes were narrowed as he glared them down as his lips curled. “the hell are you guys doing?”
izuku's hands flapped around in a panic. “w-we were just about to leave! i swear-”
“you're very affectionate, bakugou” todoroki said, as blunt as ever.
“shut up!” he yelled, his face turning as a red as a tomato and his hair puffed up. y/n giggled once again at the dramatic scene that laid in front of her. “do you guys want snacks too?” she offered.
“why are you giving our food to extras?” “suki!”
brutal wasn't even the word to describe today's training session. everyone was curled up on the ground, hands over their stomach as it even hurt to breathe. the sounds that filled the room were heavy breathing and complaints. and y/n— was nowhere to be found.
mina, jirou, and ochaco all wandered the hallways, a worried look etched on their face as they searched for their friend. “i'm really worried about her y'know.” mina was the first one to break the silence.
both girls nodded in agreement.
“so am i,” ochaco said. “she just disappeared right after training ended.”
the trio kept wandering the halls, looking in every corner and every turn where y/n could be hiding.
suddenly, through the glass window, they see their little y/c haired friend sitting on the bench, with her fingers intertwined on her lap and her head hung low.
“there she is!” jirou yelled, quickly running to the nearest door to go outside and get y/n while the other two girls trailed closely behind her.
but something made them stop dead in their tracks. the closer they got to the window, the more they were able to see someone elses silhouette sat next to her.
“is that bakugou?”
bakugou's arm was wrapped securely around y/n's shoulders, intently listening to her rambling about whatever she needed to get off her chest.
“i did really bad today.” she mumbled, her voice filled with sadness and frustration.
“and that’s okay.” bakugou comforted her. “one bad doesn't mean you suck. everyone has bad days.” he reassured her, rubbing light circles on her shoulders.
y/n shrugged, playing and picking at her fingers as they rested on her lap. “i just think i’m weak, y’know?” she mumbled once again.
“you're not- hey. look at me.” bakugou squished her cheeks and turned her head to face his. “stop. you think i'd be talking to you like this if you're so weak? hm?”
“no?” she muffled due to how much bakugou was squishing her face.
“exactly. you're strong, so stop putting yourself down because of one off day and keep training.”
“you're hurting my cheeks.”
bakugou let go of her face, lightly patting her cheeks as an apology. “my point is, one bad day doesn't mean you're weak. think about every other time you've kicked ass.”
y/n laughed softly, her face changing from what looked like a kicked puppy to her usual grin. “thank you suki.” she said.
“this is the cutest thing I've ever seen.” mina whispered while clenching her shirt where her heart is tightly.
“who knew the pomeranian could be such a romantic?” jirou teased as ochaco and mina giggled along side of her.
bakugou lightly ruffled the top of y/n's hair, lightly blushing from the way she looked at him with such a lovestruck glance. “you're strong. don't start with that ‘i'm weak’ shit cause i won't hear it.”
“you're so sweet when you want to be.”
“now you're pushing it.”
“why are you only nice to me?” the question caught katsuki off guard.
the couple had been in y/n's dorm room simply sitting in silence, with their legs entangled together and the light noise of the TV playing in the background.
he turned his head slightly to face her, their eyes meeting instantly as she was already looking at him so softly. “why wouldn't i be?” katsuki questioned as his fingers lightly played with her hair.
y/n shrugged, not having a response to his question. it just seemed out-of-character for him. he was the type of person to not let anyone change him, good or bad.
but the crude boy would come to be a puddle of sap when it came to her. even if it wasn't obvious verbally, the ways his eyes softened when they laid upon her was enough said.
“i asked you a question first.” she retorted.
katsuki exhaled sharply, his gaze turning from her to the ceiling as his heart rate sped up a bit. “you're just.. different.”
y/n's eyebrows raised slightly as a smirk stitched itself onto her face. she scooted closer to katsuki's side, leaning her head on his bicep as she stared lovingly at his side profile. “i'm.. different? there's more to that, isn't there?”
“of course there is. you just don't get to know that stuff right now.”
y/n knew that katsuki wasn't one to talk about his feelings. she wasn't looking to change that. but the simple thought of him just looking at her differently from the rest, like shes the only person in every room, made her heart flutter.
“don't think i'm getting soft though.” katsuki grumbled, an arm slipping around her waist as he pulled her impossibly closer.
“you're just… the only exception.”

fluff, married life ig, i headcanon bakugo as a snorer, crack.
Being married to Katsuki Bakugo was no different than dating him, truly, only the title changed.
You’d still bicker over the silliest and smallest things.
Like right now, for example.
Katsuki was asleep next to you. His hands were wrapped snuggly around your waist as you watched your favorite movie before dozing off to sleep.
You tried to ignore it, you really did. But you couldn’t take it anymore.
You sighed and tapped Katsuki once, then twice. He groaned quietly, opening one of his fiery red eyes tiredly to look at you. “What, woman?” He spoke groggily.
“Can you stop snoring….?” You whispered. “The hell? I don’t snore.” He replied grumpily, this time, propping himself on his elbows to glare at you tiredly. “Yes, you do!” You shot back and sat up slightly. “I can’t even hear my damn movie, Katsuki.”
“Whatever, just turn it up.” He dismissed with a grunt, pulling you back into his arms and nuzzling into your chest.
“No, ‘cause then you’ll get mad at me for not letting you sleep.”
“Woman, you’re not letting me sleep either way!” He growled and gave your side a pinch. You gasped and swatted his hand away, deciding to turn the movie off and settling comfortably in his protective arms.
Minutes passed and the bedroom was silent, only the sounds of breathing could be heard. You were slowly drifting off to sleep when—
“Katsuki…” You poked him, whispering.
“What?” He groaned, his voice being muffled against your shirt.
“You’re snoring, I can’t sleep.” You poked him again.
He grumbled, pulling you closer to his body before replying, “For the last time, woman, I don’t snore.”
“Yes you do, that’s literally why I can’t sleep.” You said matter-of-factly to which he scoffed. “Yeah? Then prove it.” He spoke, his eyes still closed.
You groaned into the darkness. “What am I supposed to do, record you?”
“Sure, make it your damn ringtone while you’re at it. Maybe that’ll shut you up.” He smirked lazily, hugging you tighter.
You could only blink in response, the audacity this man had! However, you bit back a laugh. “You’re impossible.”
“Yeah? And you’re still awake, so whose fault is that?”
You shook your head, smiling and snuggling into him, wrapping your arms around him lazily again. “Whatever, just let me sleep.”
“G’night, dumbass.” He murmured, pressing a gentle, lazy kiss to your forehead before drifting off to sleep….and snoring again.
You sighed, staring blankly at the ceiling. Tonight was going to be a loooong night.
synopsis: he owns the kitchen—until you quietly claim a corner of it, and he is enjoying it more than he lets on.
pairing: timeskip!bakugou katsuki x f!reader
⊹ ࣪ ˖ notes: been gone a while. had ran out of ideas but here we go
you don’t cook often.
not because you can’t, but because he always beats you to it.
katsuki treats his kitchen like a battlefield—controlled, efficient, and his.
he moves like he’s been doing it his whole life, sleeves pushed up, jaw set in focus, the faint smell of spices clinging to his shirt even after he’s done.
it’s something he enjoys, something he’s good at, and he rarely lets you lift a finger when it comes to meals.
so when you tell him, “i made something for you,” you expect a scoff, a teasing remark, maybe even a lecture about how he should be the one cooking for you.
what you don’t expect is for him to hesitate.
it’s barely noticeable, but you catch it—the slight pause, the flicker in his expression before his arms cross over his chest.
“you what?”
you huff, nudging the bowl toward him, resisting the urge to roll your eyes. “i cooked something for you.”
his red eyes flick down, scanning the dish like he’s assessing its structural integrity.
it’s nothing fancy—just something simple you put together while he was out. but his fingers twitch slightly, like he’s holding himself back from reaching for it immediately.
“…what’s the occasion?”
you blink at him. “nothing. just wanted to.”
his brows furrow slightly, like he doesn’t quite understand the concept of someone cooking for him just because they felt like it.
but after a moment, he exhales through his nose, jaw shifting as he grabs the chopsticks.
“you didn’t have to, y’know.”
you smile, resting your chin on your hand. “I know.”
he doesn’t say anything else before taking a bite.
the first one is quick—just a taste.
then the second comes almost immediately after, slower this time, more thoughtful. his chewing slows just a fraction—contemplative. his brows furrow, but not in a bad way.
he’s thinking.
then, without a word, he goes for a third bite.
you watch him, amusement curling at your lips. “well?”
he chews, swallows, and sets his chopsticks down with a casual motion.
“…it’s good.”
you stare.
then squint.
“just good?”
his ears tint the faintest shade of pink, and he scowls, looking at anything but you. “what, you want a damn trophy?”
you snort, shaking your head. “a simple ‘thanks’ would work.”
his mouth presses into a tight line, and for a second, you think he might just grumble his way out of this. but then, just barely above a mutter—
“thanks.”
your grin widens, warmth blooming in your chest as he goes back to eating, and even though he doesn’t say anything else, you don’t miss the way he finishes every last bite.
it happens again.
not immediately, but enough that it starts to become a habit.
one night, you make an extra portion without thinking, setting it aside without a second thought.
another night, you leave something for him when you know he’s coming home late, the dish waiting on the counter like a quiet reassurance that he isn’t alone.
you don’t always expect a reaction, but you always get one—even if it’s just a muttered “’preciate it” or the way his shoulders shift ever so slightly when he sees what you’ve left for him.
and then, one evening, you catch him sneaking extra bites.
you’re pretending not to watch, seated at the kitchen counter with a drink in hand, your body angled just enough to keep him in your peripheral vision.
katsuki eats like he always does—quick but deliberate, each motion efficient, no wasted movements.
his back is straight, his expression unreadable as he makes his way through the plate of curry you set in front of him.
then, the second you turn your head—
a blur of movement. a quiet clink.
your eyes snap back to him.
katsuki freezes, chopsticks halfway to his mouth, a second helping clearly stolen from the pot sitting on the stove.
his jaw tightens as he chews, his expression carefully neutral, but you don’t miss the way his fingers tighten slightly around his chopsticks.
your brows lift. “did you just steal extra?”
a beat of silence.
then, his red eyes flick up to yours, his chewing slowing slightly as he glares, unimpressed. “what?”
your gaze drops to the now slightly emptier pot.
a slow grin spreads across your face.
“you did.”
he scowls, shoving another bite into his mouth like it’ll somehow erase the evidence. “it’s good. so what?”
you rest your chin on your palm, amusement flickering in your eyes. “you could just ask for more, you know.”
he clicks his tongue, gaze flicking to the side, suddenly finding the tiled floor far more interesting. “dunno what you’re talkin’ about.”
after that, you start paying more attention.
to the things he likes, the things he doesn’t say outright but that you pick up on anyway.
you learn that he prefers meals fresh off the stove, that he eats fast but never wastes a single bite. that he loves spice—but sometimes, just sometimes, it even gets to him.
you catch the way he drinks more water when it does, the slight furrow of his brows when the heat creeps up on him.
“you good?” you ask once, watching as he takes another gulp of water.
he clicks his tongue, setting the glass down with more force than necessary. “’course I’m good.”
you just shake your head, amused.
even when he’s exhausted, dragging himself through the door after a long shift, he still eats whatever you make. no complaints, no hesitations.
just a quiet moment where his shoulders loosen and he sits down without a word.
and no matter how much he huffs and grumbles, no matter how much he acts like it’s nothing—
he never says no to your cooking.
one night, he comes home later than usual.
you’re already half-asleep on the couch, curled under a blanket, when you hear the door open.
heavy boots thud against the floor, the familiar sound of him kicking them off near the entrance. there’s a rustle of fabric as he shrugs off his hero jacket, the soft clink of his gear being set aside.
then—
a pause.
you blink groggily, rubbing your eyes as you push yourself upright. “katsuki?”
he doesn’t answer right away. just stands there, his gaze fixed on the covered dish waiting on the counter.
his shoulders loosen slightly, the exhaustion still clinging to him, but there’s something softer in the way he moves now, like the sight of the meal has pulled some of the weight off his shoulders.
“…you made somethin’?”
you yawn, stretching your arms above your head. “yeah. thought you might be hungry.”
he doesn’t say anything at first. just strides toward you, stopping in front of the couch, and before you can react—warm lips press against the top of your head.
it’s quick, fleeting, but it lingers in the way his breath ruffles your hair right after.
his voice is quieter this time. “thanks.”
your chest feels light, a soft warmth settling beneath your ribs, but before you can process it, he’s already moving again. he grabs the plate, lifts the lid, and takes in the meal.
then, he makes his way back to you, dropping onto the couch beside you.
his thigh presses against yours, his body radiating warmth, and then an arm drapes over your shoulders, pulling you in.
you blink, a little surprised, but you don’t resist, sinking into him as he picks up his spoon.
he eats in steady bites, quiet, comfortable. then, without a word, he scoops up another bite and holds the spoon out to you.
you hesitate for half a second. “you don’t have to—”
“just eat.”
you huff, but open your mouth anyway, letting him feed you.
the flavors settle on your tongue, familiar and warm, but you barely notice because katsuki’s watching you now, eyes flicking over your face like he’s waiting for your reaction.
you chew, swallow, then smile a little. “tastes good.”
his mouth twitches, and he clicks his tongue, looking away. “’course it does. you made it.”
