More trainees for I-LAND have been unveiled!

I-LAND is the first collaborative project under BELIFT LAB Incorporations (BELIFT): a joint venture between Big Hit Entertainment and CJ ENM. This observational reality show, filmed at an elaborate, custom studio, seeks to find the next generation of K-Pop artists.

Earlier this week, the names and stats for the first batch of trainees (applicants) were revealed. The first six applicants are between 14 and 22 years of age, and they hail from South Korea, Australia, Japan, and the USA.

Since then, twenty-one more applicants have been made public through Mnet‘s second, third, and fourth releases.

In previous days, an insider from Big Hit Entertainment said in a statement that this survival was looking to create another co-ed group just like SEVENTEEN and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, making the public have expectations of seeing female trainees joining the program.

However, everyone couldn’t help but be shocked at seeing two familiar faces; Kim Jiho (left) and Lee Minjun (right), both former contestants of survival shows, and while the appearance of Kim Jiho arouse a bunch of mixed reactions from knetizens, both negative and positive; Lee Minjun’s appearance made the public’s anticipation for this program grow.

It’s no surprise that Lee Minjun has always been a public’s favorite since survival show “MIXNINE.”
