I have a head cannon that sometimes JJ kinda takes over every once in a while and Jason is the only one who can talk to Tim without him freaking out because all Tim can process in those moments is the voice and face of his Robin, his hero, who’s there to protect him. That’s very lightly digging into the depths of these head cannons but I don’t have enough time to go super into detail.

Jason just got so caught up in cleaning up the kidnappers that he forgot that someone (Tim) got kidnapped. This happens every other month for Tim.
