New Yorkers during Infinity War be like 

The perfect date!

Prompt: Genshin men and women’s ultimate idea of a date by their standards!

Characters: Diluc, Shenhe, Jean, Cloud retainer, Arlecchino, Kujo Sara, Furina

Jean

Jean ,despite her upbringing and high class education, isn’t very picky. What she values most is the effort and thought put in. To earn her heart is relatively easy. Just be a cute little thing and offer her gifts and flowers to cheer her up. Compliment her and overall just look at her with eye contact and a smile as she chats your ear off about the latest romance novel and how disappointing it was.

For you? Your best shot is to go out of your way to pick her favorite flowers, and dress yourself up enough to show you care then she wouldn’t mind where it was even if it was a picnic. In that scenario you would also have to show thought and care. You can’t just smack a blanket everywhere. You have to pick somewhere the knights are available or with a nice scenery. The tree at windrise is perfect as its already her safe spot. A picnic is actually perfect, Jean is a romantic but there’s nothing more romantic than seeing how you fret about every little detail, like a bird preparing the perfect nest for its mate, she is more flattered by effort than compliments. Even if the food you prepared isn’t the best she can see how you tried. Afterall with enough practice you could prepare it properly in the future. When she saw your effort she was starting to swoon. Keep up the effort and you’ll have her last name in no time.

As for how she’d set up the date? A casual lunch at Good Hunter and a stroll through city to Springvale because the scenery is beautiful and the wind is nice but not too cold. She’ll pay for the meal and you will make up for it by being her entertainment. But she’s also picked that route because the wind can pick uo and get a bit chilly with the lake right next to path, giving her the perfect opportunity to offer you her cloak, just like a true Gentlelady!

Diluc

Oh he’s difficult! Not a romantic, not a small talker, not too expressive, not too friendly either. You basically court him the way you would earn the trust of a feral cat who’s never been pet before. Patience and lots of perseverance. The best way to earn his heart however is to be interesting. Go to the bar when nights are slow and tell him interesting stories. Some new fact you learned? Questions that make you stand out from any other bachelorette looking to score it with him. Like “whats your second favorite color? Whats your first memory? Does his hawk have a favorite color?” I should mention to not get too personal too quick. But overtime he maybe endeared by your odd conversations, you stand out in a pleasant way that has him contemplating those questions.

Now that you’ve finally got his trust you can ask him out! Very likely he will take the reins. Likely a typical restaurant date. He picks you up, pays, coat if your cold, walks you home. He isn’t the most creative.

As for you? Well you still won’t be able to spoil him because he will pay you back no matter what. He doesn’t have expensive tastes. You prepare a nice picnic meal? You want to go on a walk through town and lunch? Unfortunately he doesn’t really like the idea because he knows it will spark a huge rumor and end up with you probably glared at by many a lady looking for his hand. The picnic idea is however novel to him. Just be sure to pick a area clear of monsters. Not that he wouldn’t immediately leap into battle to defend you but that he might burn the grass to much. Then you would have to move. But he secretly adores how persistent you’ve been, trying to provide for him, trying to handle everything. He secretly likes that. Unfortunately he has a serious poker face so you don’t notice that until later.

Shenhe

Out of all of them i’d say she’d be the hardest to romance because she’d struggle to understand when she is inlove. She likes you yes. But is it different than how she likes being around Ganyu or sitting in the grass? Overtime it does become different but it isn’t until Cloud Retainer points out that she is obviously being courted that she recognizes your efforts. So she return them.

Easiest by far because she has no concept of romance or what is romantic like everyone else but rather just that: she likes you. She likes spending time with you. She doesn’t care if you don’t get her enough flowers or you don’t pick a good enough restaurant. What she likes is you and talking to you. You could pick a dingy street vendor for a date and she’d still love it. Really its cloud retainer who would disprove. To earn her approval you must work to prove you’re worthy and trustworthy too. She won’t give her blessing out freely. And what better way for Shenhe to learn about romance than by example? But truly, Shenhe would prefer a date on Jueyun karst. With fresh flowers and a gentle breeze in the warm sunlight. Just talking to you, alone. She doesn’t like restaurants unless its a slow or quiet day but she will put up with it for your sake.

Arlecchino

Obviously she lives for the luxury. She knows time away from the children is scarce nowadays so she books a private booth secluded from the other guests, a luxury restaurant with the finest of tastes. She will ensure you don’t go away hungry or feel uncomfortable. The difficulty is the timing. The reason its best to leave her to schedule dates is because she will already have made time for such occasions. One date st least per month! Unless of course there’s complications or scheduling conflicts. Rest assured she will make it up to.

If you’re planning a date for her it would be best to follow her line and not surprise her with it because again, her schedule. The most she’ll let you do is probably make the reservation, she’ll pay for it simply because she likes to provide for you. Better to just let her because she isn’t going to let the mother of her children pay for dinner.

Cloud Retainer

Oh you want to romance a full blown adeptus? Good luck making it up that mountain alot. Your offerings do not go unnoticed by her, as she enjoys your gifts more than most mortals. She even clears out monster camps herself in preparation for your visits. As cloud retainer how ever she isn’t too emotionally available.

But as Xinyun she is far more open minded to the idea. Recognizing you as her favorite human she will humor your offer of lunch. She does prefer more traditional methods but not to a great extent. For instance, a decent restaurant with high quality food. Especially if it’s a date. You dont have to pick the most luxurious of restaurants but if you do it is a good impression to her. But putting effort into your appearance is also very important too. She doesn’t expect you to pay for her tab but she would appreciate. She will find some way to repay you.. perhaps a invention to help you in some aspect of your life? Or perhaps a kiss will do.

Furina

Little bit of a tsundere. It wasn’t actually that hard to win her heart, but she didn’t make it obvious until you asked her out. Just stick with the fancy stuff, flowers and sweets as offerings. She is very traditional in that regard. But oh Miss Furina is so lonely, the second she saw your gentle and loving smile she practically fell face first and head over heels for you.

Of course high end restaurants are her favorite. Especially for desserts. In fact you could just skip dinner and go to a bakery instead, that’s probably cheaper. If you offer to pay though do be prepared for it. She won’t spend too much since it is your money but the things she buys aren’t too cheap either. But overall the perfect date for her is mostly just.. having someone by her side. It may end up be her window shopping or shopping with you dragged along but she has a great time like. She has a great time with you by her side :> after that point the dates can be anything as long as you’re not taking her hiking through the mountains or something, she might like to go outside the city for a picnic though. Maybe even see the cute otters.

Kujo Sara

She was also not that hard to win over, but it was much harder to tell when she did. But her coworkers knew when they saw how she seemed to miss you when you left, or how you made her smile. But before you know it, she’s asking you out!

Kujo Sara will pick the best restaurant for your tastes, preferably a bit high end, and she will encourage you to eat as much as you like. Don’t eat like a pig though that is a bit off putting to her. She isn’t too great at conversing though, especiallt in non professional environments. Considering how nervous she actually is to be on a date with you too, its a bit hard to be confident in such a unfamiliar situation. Just be patient and sweet. Overtime she’ll get better and more open with you.

The Philippines just got hit by the strongest tropical cyclone ever recorded in history

Yesterday, November 1, 2020, Typhoon Rolly (international name Goni) hit the central part of Luzon, Philippines.

Like the tweet said, it is the most powerful tropical cyclone to hit landfall in recorded history. 

The typhoon has now passed, but the aftermath is bad. Houses destroyed, farmlands flooded, and many, many evacuees. If you would like to see what’s going on, check the hashtag #RollyPH on Twitter, there’s a lot, which brings me to the most important point

Whumptober - 07: Drugged

John Mactavish x reader

Soap knows that something’s wrong the moment you call him. You drunk calling him wasn’t exactly out of the norm, in fact, it was weird if you didn’t spam him with texts and tik toks letting him know how much you loved him. 

His team often sledged him jokingly for how whipped he was for you, but it was that adoration and care that let him know within seconds that you weren’t okay. There was no excited shout of his name, no blaring music that you were drunkenly singing along to and none of your friends were yelling at him for interrupting girl's night. 

There’s just silence, a terribly concerning silence only accentuated by the shuffling of clothes and shuddering breaths. He’s on his feet and crashing into the wall on his quest for the keys in three seconds flat. His shoes aren’t even on properly and he’s already in the car when he finally gets a response to his barrage of questions. 

“Johnny?” Your voice is slurred and confused in a way that has his blood freezing. You very rarely got so sloshed you couldn’t function anymore but Soap knew what you were like even then, and this was not it. 

When the phone connects to the car's Bluetooth he’s throwing his phone into the passenger seat and reversing so quickly the tyres screech in protest. He knows where you are, you were always good at updating him if you moved venues but it doesn’t stop him from double-checking. 

He has to ask the question three times before you eventually confirm that you haven’t gone anywhere, his heart rate increasing frantically with each second that passes and he’s not by your side yet. 

“Johnny? Wh’re you? I think somethin’s wrong. Don’t feel so good.” Your whimpers fill the car and Soap starts to drive even faster, blowing through two red lights and a stop sign with little concern over the inevitable tickets and demerits he’ll get. 

“I know baby. Am almost there, just hold on a little longer.” He commanded as firmly and gently as possible. “Ye in the bathroom? Locked the door?” 

Once again it takes a while for you to understand and respond to his question but when you do he allows himself to relax a little. He tries to ascertain where your friend has gone and not for the first time he wants to kill her when you tell him you have no idea where she’s gone. 

“Johnny?” you call for him a few more times as if forgetting you’ve already gotten on the line.

He throws the car into park when he arrives, not bothering with the handbrake and not caring that he’s just stopped in the middle of the road. Cars are honking and people are yelling but he doesn’t give a single fuck, his mind is on a one-track mission. 

He’s even left his phone on the seat in his haste and the door open. Undoubtedly, you’ll yell at him when he relays the details later but he’s willing to cop all of your anger if it means he gets to you in time. 

He runs past the bouncer, outpacing the shouting man and ducking past various security members as he beelines towards the bathroom. Vaguely he recognises that he’s being chased but it doesn’t matter because he makes it to the ladies' bathroom well before they catch up.

It doesn’t even register that the bathroom door isn’t locked like you’d said it was when he bursts into the grimy space because his attention and fury are quickly dragged elsewhere. Namely to the motherfucker that was sticking his hand down your pants as you sobbed and tried to get away with your body’s sluggish movement. 

He’s letting out a furious roar and when the man turns with wide eyes at the commotion behind him Johnny’s fist smacks into his nose with a sickening crack that sends him stumbling backwards bleeding and onto the tile floor. 

It’s only the fact that your legs give out without someone supporting you that stops him from beating the man to death as he grabs you and pulls you against him. 

You’re so out of it that you protest, pushing against his chest as you cry because you don’t recognise him straight away. 

It takes a bit of cajoling and pressing soft kisses into your hairline before you recognise him but when you do you completely devolve into a crying, sobbing mess, collapsing against him even further as you finally allow yourself to feel all of the overwhelming panic you’d been trying to hold off. 

Security’s caught up and the commotion they make as they barge into the bathroom sets you off even further and Soap simply shoots them a heated glare before shouldering past them with you safe in his arms. 

Perhaps miraculously, both the car and his phone are still where he’d left him and Johnny gently deposits you in the passenger seat, clipping your seatbelt in. His heart shatters a little further when you start to beg him not to leave you. 

“M not leaving ye bonnie, just need to get myself strapped in.”

“Promise?” you sound so small and Soap is now certain that once you’re safe and looked after he’d going to hunt down the scumbag that dared lay a finger on you. For now though, 

“I promise love.” When he slips into the driver's seat you’re reaching blearily for his hand immediately and he takes it just as quickly, pulling away and driving far slower than he’d gone to get to you. 

“I promise.” The words are so soft that they’re more for himself than you. They’re an oath that he’ll keep even if it kills him.

Overhaul- Kai Chisaki

I believe he honestly wouldnt mind it

He doesn’t mind taking things slow in your relationship due to his own conditions ontop of yours and will be rather gentle with his approach in making both you and him used to physical contact

Afterall he’s a virgin himself, his skin broke out in rashes whenever he touched ‘flithy’ people and he never really sought out an s/o when he was trying to take over the yakuza for his pops, that was until you arrived of course

His germaphobia keeps him from touching people as a whole so having an s/o who is as nervous at being physical in your relationship as he was- was somewhat conforting to him, he felt as though he wasn’t alone in his discomfort

He would try to slowly overcone both your fears step by step, near the beginning of your relationship physical touch would most likely be pinkies linking or a short time where he held your hand if he felt the need to

His germaphobia wasn’t an easy thing to suddenly get over, so the gradual process of your physical touches with Chisaki were initially slow

However in his eyes, you were completely pure, an absolute angel and that he had no reason to be afraid of you, so once you two get closer the amount of how much physical touch he can tollerate is much greater

Heck he even asked if he could hug you

If you’re ever uncomfortable with something that he asks then he’ll politely step down and simply ask for the next best thing that your comfortable with

“Angel would you mind sitting on my lap? My works getting rather tedious and I feel like if your near it’ll become easier”

You blush red from the thought of sitting on someones laps, insecurities running through your mind while you sweat slightly, feeling guilty for denying Chisaki on a rare occasion where he asks you to touch him on his own

“Ah- your right, I apologise, that was rather imprudent of me, is it okay if you just sit next to me then?”

He asks in a gentle tone while his eyes narrow slightly, giving away the fact that he was smilling under that black surgical mask of his- how could you even resist

You grab a chair from the other side of Chisakis desk I’m assuming he has a desk where he works at however if you believe he would work at that table and the sofa seen in the anime when he was meeting with Shigaraki then ignore this and sit next to him, eternally grateful that he wasn’t mad at your refusal to his earlier proposal

Eventually his free hand will slither down to intertwine with yours, pink under his mask while he pretends to show his full focuss and attention on the paperwork infront of him so he doesn’t scare you off by the sudden touch

Little did he know you were as flustered as he was from the small gesture

Despite this man never having an s/o in his life too busy burning bodies to ashes and other villain work hes a surprisingly good flirt

So when you two first get into a relationship and he discovers not only are you a virgin but your nervous at physical touch too?

That just makes him more determined to make you fall head over heels for him and only him

Since he’s out a lot of the time courtsey of the League, your relationship evidently becomes slow

If you ever go out with him he will not hesitate to put an arm around your shoulder or your waist if he feels like someones a threat to you or even looking at you

Dabi’s afraid of actually scaring you off because of something he did so he will ask if your okay with soemthing before doing it and while doing said request he will constantly ask how you’re feeling and whether or not your still okay with it

He just loves you too much and he would second the pain of death to loosing you so he’s surprisingly more considerate than you thought he’d be

He will hold off random ass slaps and teasing to when your relationships more steady and when your wayyy more comfortable with him

A bit like:

“Baby are you sure I can lay on top of you? I’m being a needy shit aren’t I- it’s just the League’s been making me work my ass off and-“

You interupt him with a giggle and a smile before he starts rambling and make his self doubts take over

“Yed Dabi It’s fine, now come here :)”

He lays ontop of you, hesitant at first and constantly glancing at your eyes to be met with a look of zero discontentment, face now resting in your chest while you ignore the fact that your obviously blushing, getting rid of his stress came before being embarrassed on your list of priorities, playing with his hair to distract youself, making him groan out of satisfaction

“You make me feel so damn relaxed y’know that doll?”

You hum slightly in response while you continue playing with his hair, combing out all the knots with your fingers until Dabi suddenly lifts his head, startling you

“Are you sure you’re okay with this?”

You giggle again, his hair in his face while he stared at you awaiting for your answer

“Dabi I’m completely fine with this”

“A hundred- no- a thousand percent sure doll?”

“Yessss”

You both continue to cuddle after this until you fall asleep under him, just before he sleeps too

Hawks- Keigo Takami

Training since highschool and even before that to become a pro hero he’s never had legitimate time to ‘date’ someone, so trust me when I tell you at first he was as nervous as you

He’s a pro hero and a lot of his time is consumed by his hero work, there were times when you wouldn’t see him for weeks

So he leaves one of his feathers with you on a necklace, and will occasionally make it tickle you or purposefully brush over your lips whenever he’s thinking of you during his missions

Not to forget the fact that this man literally spoils you written to compensate for the fact that he’s barely home, think of it as his own courting gifts to you despite already being in a relationship

This alone would get you slightly more used to physical touch, that and the fact that you had to admit, you missed Keigo a whole bunch whenever he left for missions and believe it or not he missed you too if the feather nuzzling you in your sleep wasn’t enough to know

So when he first comes home you both can’t help but envelope eachother in a big hug, his wings puffing up while you tell him how much you missed him

Keigo becomes extremely needy after falling head over heels with you and having his feelings reciprocated only made his desires that much bigger

However he understands how you feel about romantic contact and respects your distance most of the time

There is that small minority where hes home with you all day and will gradually go fom a simple kiss on the hand in the morning to a legitimate cuddle fest during the eavening, by slowly increasing the amount of physical contact he makes with you each hour or so

Just like Dabi this man is a flirt, however-

When you both get in a relationship his smooth talking and flirting will constantly get you flustered, little do you know when he goes back home he will literally blush crazily like a high school girl at the thought your cute face and actions throughout the day and replay it in his head numerous times

If your ever uncomfortable with something he’s doing he won’t hesitate to stop immediately and will mentally note that you don’t like it before he goes out to buy chiken for the two of you as an apology I’m surprised this man even shared with you- wow he loves you a lot

You miss Keigo too much to be nervous about physical contact since he’s away from home so much, so most of the time you will randomly be affectionate with him which Keigo will 100% accept and simply die of embarrassment later when Keigo teases you about it

Something a bit like:

You were dying of embarrassment, face burried in a pillow while your cheeks and the tip of your ears flushed in heat, flustered at what occured a few moments ago, Keigo had returned home and you suddenly hugged him while he picked you up and spun you around before planting a soft kiss on your lips, welcoming your sudden outbust of affection for him. It’s not that you regretted the action- infact you loved the feeling of his lips against yours, it’s just that you haven’t done something so affectionate for around two months since he was absent from home for his big mission and lets just say you surprised youself with all that confidence you presented in that one moment

“Whats wrong songbird?”

Keigo said while crawling onto the bed you were curled up on, his hair dripping wet from the warm shower he insisted on taking after every mission

“O-oh It’s nothing- really it’s nothing!”

Keigo squinted at you as you desperately tried to convince him nothings wrong while you kept your face burried in your pillow, knowing full well you were probably blushing

“Nothing eh? Then why won’t you let me see that pretty face of yours kid?- perhaps your embarrassed?”

You whined slightly with Keigos assumption being spot on, not surprising considering how observing he was and you lift your head from the pillow slowly, proving his point to be correct

“M-maybe I am so what!”

He smirked at you before sitting infront of you cross-legged, his wings stretching out, feathers touching with the ceiling and the walls opposite of eachother

“No need to be embarrassed y’know, I’m yours and you’re mine isn’t that right babybird”
