Yeah so today I had to go to court and appear in front of a judge who, ever since I started practicing, has despised my very existence and finds a way to dress me down whenever anything goes haywire (or doesn’t go haywire, because that’s my fault too).

But anyway I was dreading going to work and it struck me that this is probably the way Mammon feels when he does some clownishness and is about to get the riot act from Lucifer. So I was like, hell with it, I’m gonna slap on my crow earrings and my gold eyeshadow (and some blue for big daddy Luci) and rock this appearance like I have all the confidence of a scummy tsundere second-born. And you know, it is kind of silly, but it did lift my spirits and made me laugh a little bit.

All of this is to say, I appreciate Obey Me! and all the awesome fans out there, because this year sucks and it is really very nice to be able to escape for a little bit into a fun game and see some great art and read some fluffy fics. It means a lot to me since most of my coping mechanisms like gym time and travel and bar-hopping are still shut down where I live. From the devs to the VAs to the fans, you never fail to brighten my day. It really makes this time bearable - and even fun!

And for that, thank you.

I feel this about the set MC appearance (and one reason I like Obey Me! is that they don’t do that). I got a boy cut and no curves and I dress like Saul Goodman on drugs and I want my androgynous representation GOD DAMN IT.

But also I’m trying to learn Chinese so props to AL for helping inspire me to study.

• nightmare events. the rates are unfair, and only depends on luck (i have shit luck)

• favoritism. they play favorites with the characters AND players.

• new lessons. they’re great, but the amount of strength is ridiculous. its becoming to where you HAVE to spend money to play.

• events. theyre great, cards are amazing, but the prizes and amount of event points you need is becoming bullshit. 93k points? 127 points per battle, 3 plays a battle. its becoming insane.

• ap. the ap doesnt need to take 5 mins to get just 1. its insane as well. takes like, 8 fucking hours to get full stock.

pros ;

• in different languages (chinese, english, japanese, korean, thai(?)) for players around the world (mainly in asia & countries with english as a main language) can play

• dont play favorites. they’re equal with characters AND players. (for download milestones, you get 10 premium tickets but have to log in at a certain UTC time.) the characters are getting their own SSR cards (i think they already have a separate SSR card per character, the rest are events).

• events. they’re easy to play through. very nice plotline, + its very long. the prizes in the events are fair.

• ap (sp in this case) is easy to get. it takes 1 min to get 1, which goes by very fast.

• the characters. theyre well thought out and have different and unique personalities. they have backstories that make them them, and are different for each character.

• there is no set dating option, just the characters & you (the manager). you can choose which character you want to favorite, but wont get really intimate options with them.

• prizes (or gifts for the characters) are easy to get throughout the levels. the levels are fair as well.

• plot is well thought out.

• side characters (nyang leader, sei housemaster (let me have sei >:() as well as the characters/animal hybrid things from the levels get introduced to the plot.

cons ;

• money prices. love the game, characters, and stuff. but the money prices, $5+ for one pull, yeah kiss my ass. 👺

• ep. why does it need to take 30 mins to get 1 refill. maybe lower it or something, to maybe 15 mins instead of 30?

• the amount of storage it takes up. stop making me fill my storage up with only after l!fe i have photos 😭 and other shit

• set appearance and gender. ok, i dont mind the gender but the appearance, it needs to stop i swear. im done with the mc having brown hair and no other hair color. its annoying. maybe i want the mc to be someone who got shit on by a goblin >:( and the gender, yeah it’ll be a bit upsetting for those who are non-binary and male.

Also, best thing for me when I was in that headspace? Find something you feel strongly about. Love bad reality tv dating shows? Hate the Kardashians? Find someone else who feels the same way and just start talking. My best friendships, the ones who have pulled me out of my deepest holes, have come from shit-talking local politicians we hate (and in one instance, from being equally obsessed with the terrible Flavor Of Love series). And it went from hating/liking the same thing to talking about other things, and being friends, and caring about each other.

Look, I love me some spicy East Asian cuisine.

However.

I’m from the Carolinas, spent several years living in Louisiana, and therefore did not agree with the options the game presented. Any Obey Me fans who want to try something approaching devildom spice need to try:

Carolina Reaper in just about anything - it doesn’t have much flavor on its own, just shitloads of heat. I’d mix it up in a vinegar-based BBQ sauce and toss pulled pork in it, and you can cut the heat with applesauce if it’s too much. Actually, ema datshi with reaper or ghost pepper would be pretty good, I should try to make that.

Nashville chicken - ramp up the cayenne: brown sugar ratio for extra spice.

Gumbo, jambalaya, boudin sausage, or manque choux - again, you’re gonna be drowning your recipe with cayenne to make it spicy, and you can throw in a ghost pepper or Carolina Reaper if you want.

Just remember to wear gloves when you slice your peppers.

Maybe it doesn't help you, but I asked my Car Friend his opinions on the car inspo and he basically said the same things you did, including the mustang front, but he said "corvette vents" on the side instead of mentioning Porsche

😯 That's very helpful actually. Everytime I look at Mammon's car, I just cannot place the vents. The Porsche mention was more so directed at the body line/style of it starting from about the door back. BUT Corvette vents!! The vents on the side are very similar to the vents on the 1963 Z06 (I had to do a bit of research to see if any specific model of Corvette had extremely similar vents- and check it out below! It should be the 3rd car here lol)

It definitely has to have drawn inspiration from quite a few cars! And at least two of them, the Corvette Z06 and the late 60's Mustang Fastback, are from the 1960's. The Nissan Fairlady Z is from the 80's.

Now, I got to thinking because of this ask, and comparing all three of our possible inspirations to the original... and I had an idea. The rear quarter panel above the rear tires... they bump up into a real pretty curve and then go back down to meet at the back piece where the tail lights are. I'm not really seeing that in any of the three we have. But, ya wanna know what it started looking like? Ferrari has produced some cars with a similar bodystyle. The 4th car below is a 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, and it shows some serious curves that I dare say are present on the rear quarter panel at least! The front quarter panel curve seems to follow more closely with the Corvette, curving down into a Mustang front end. Now, just to point out because I like writing out details, the rear half of the Ferrari is little bit longer than the car I'm so insistent on placing. Which is interesting because Ferrari is known for their mid and rear engine vehicles. The 1974 Dino 246 GTS is a mid-engine vehicle, so even with the longer rear, it's still a bit short and more similar to Mammon's car. But, Mammon's car has a shorter rear end overall, looking like it's too short to support a rear engine or even a mid-engine. This info, combined with the longer front end really says it's gotta be a front engine vehicle. This is just some small trivia I'm writing down because it might help lol

At the end of the day, all I'm saying is that it draws some serious inspiration from beautiful cars and that Mammon's taste in vehicles really fits him perfectly. We've got some heavy classic car elements going on in my opinion, and usually classic cars are already highly valued. With two of these inspos seemingly being higher end sports cars *the Corvette and the Ferrari*, combined with possibly some gorgeous muscle *the Mustang*, and of course maybe the more affordable sports car (compared to a Ferrari and Corvette, cause hot damn those are some expensive cars) *the Nissan*, you can definitely say this car was an expensive purchase. Between the possible value of the car as potentially a collectors/classic car, and probably the price he paid for it, this car is 100% Mammon in my opinion.

It's definitely gorgeous and if it was real I'd 110% jump at the chance to get my hands on it, both to drive and to possibly work on it under the hood.
