You know how Selene said that Dewey’s got the treasure Della never found? What if that was the love of her children.
I mean, yeah, the kids love her, but like, how you love a dead relative you never met. Donald is their parent. She ran off. Whether she meant to come back or not, she still left. When the boys were babies. They weren’t old enough to love her back yet. They can’t even remember her.
That’s the treasure that Della might never know.
The treasure of raising her sons.
Update: Got a stream! Real laggy, but let’s see how it does. Woo-oo!
...should we toast them first?
Jack! I’m hungry. What should I eat?
THE SOULS OF THE INNOCENT!
Webs, you’re his now. No more questions, good day.
1x2 vs.1x23
Ok, so you know how they’re building up Della so much, Dewey and Webby trying to find her and all that? Well what if they succeed? What if she comes back into the lives of her family after 10 years? These are my head canons of how the triplets at least would react.
He’s happy and polite, but still a bit distant. Who could blame him? He always thought in the back of his mind that his mother was dead. HE had to take care of his brothers while uncle Donald was working, HE had to make dinner in the microwave some nights, sometimes he even had to tuck his brothers into bed. His TRIPLET brothers, the youngest of which is only 13 seconds younger. So yes, he’s happy that his mom is alive and back. But she’s been gone for so long, he doesn’t feel like he’s talking to his mother. He’s talking to a stranger. I relative he’s never met. It will take a while for him to adjust to her.
Can you say capital E Extatic?! He’s been working so long to find her, and he did it. He’s finally got his mom back. He’s always been a bit self conscious at school events, with all the kids talking about what their moms had done for said event (ex. made pie for bake sale, decorated, etc.), but now he can live it! Uncle Donald seems so much happier too, having his twin back. Uncle Scrooge is less cold having worked things out with her as well, everyone was happy! He feels he’s done something good for his family!
Let’s just say it bluntly, he’s pissed. This woman has been gone for basically his entire life, and now what, she just shows up again? Where was she when he got his tonsils out when he was 3? Where was she when bullies at school shoved him into the brick walls repeatedly? Where was she the hundreds of times uncle Donald had been passed out from work and he’d had a bad dream? Gone, that’s where. The thought had never crossed Louie’s mind that his mother was dead. He always assumed she had just left them with her brother and then took off because she couldn’t care less. Now she’s just set herself up in the centre of his life, kinda throwing it into chaos. He resents her for it. He wants nothing to do with this person. She’s not his mom. He doesn’t have one.
I’m sorry, I just almost cried at the last line. I love this AU so much!
For the Harry Potter AU: what do you think would be the scene in the last book where Harry and Ron argue and Ron runs away?
Well, that would still be the Horcrux turning Louie into a resentful and hate-filled little jerkface.
Dewey and Louie already have a tendency to fight. We’ve seen so in The Beagle Birthday Massacre, when they actually wrestle-brawl on two occasions. One when Louie tackled Dewey for his “Captain Lost” chanting. A second when Dewey found out Louie had eaten his banana.
So they fight for stupid reasons. Both times above Huey attempted to break them apart and be the peacemaker, albeit by his own semi-violent methods.
It gives us an idea of what sets them off on once-off fights. The kind brothers and siblings have that don’t change much, and that they forget about within the next 20 minutes. Or at least until they conveniently remember during their next fight.
But the kind of fight Harry and Ron had in The Deathly Hallows was, although fueled by the Horcrux, far more emotionally based. And the words they say to each other still cut deeply.
It isn’t a physical fight, though there is some pushing and shoving at first. If you’ll remember, Huey would erect a barrier between the two of them to stop the fight getting to that physical stage. But then words would be exchanged.
Louie’s grievances are very similar to Ron’s, minus the jealousy over Hermione. It’s the same problem he has in the canon universe:
Being in someone else’s shadow.
Resentment for Huey’s brilliance, and Dewey’s “special-ness”. The fact that he’s never the leader and always on the sidelines. The “third brother” to two gifted students whose names everyone admire and respect.
He snaps with the Horcrux around his neck. Throws it to his brothers feet and disappears into the night.
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH?!?!?
I loved it, but STILL!!!!!!
Whats the most embarrassing thing thats happened to you?
Louie: Well, I think Webs is incapable of feeling embarrassment.
Webby: That's not true! I felt kinda embarrassed when I got us all thrown off the bus.
Louie: Ok, there's that. For me, it was probably the day I got tripped in the cafeteria at school. Not because I got tripped, but because Huey and Dewey made a big deal over it and started yelling at the dude. With the entire school watching. That was a bad day.
Webby: Why did it embarrass you that your brothers were standing up for you?
Louie: *sighs, rolling his eyes* They're always overprotective of me because I’m the youngest.
Webby: Oh... I don't get it.
Louie: I didn't think you would.
Remember to ask more questions!
OMG I head canonned Lou as left handed almost a year ago, I never thought I’d be RIGHT! This is cool!
I just notice, Louie is Left-handed
Huey is Right-handed
So Dewey is probably both??
Then, because I’m weird, I digitalized it.
So, yeah. I’m sorry about the quality, I traced the picture of the sketch on my phone, so it’s my hand drawn style instead of digitally drawn style :/
PS, I just laugh at Huey in his red rectangle of sanity XD
Ask Louie and I whatever questions you want! -Webby (Side note from Louie: HELP ME!)
