Happy 2024! New Marvel Prompt!!!
(Tony had been turned into a child once again, but this time not from a time stone. Clint had been so close to being hit by a rouge mage had it not been for Iron Man taking the hit. Now the Avengers had a small five-year old Tony to protect till the spell wore off.)
Loki: Sadly I can't reverse what has been done, unless you want this change to be permanent or his condition made worse?
Steve: *worried* It's fine Loki. Now that we know we have to wait this spell out it is just a matter of what we do with Tony, since he is currently a toddler.
(Tony shyly walks up to Loki. He Holds out his hands in a silent request for upsies.
Loki couldn't refuse the Bambi eyes Tony was making and picked him up.)
Tony: *quietly* You're really pretty.
Loki: ...
(Loki blushes with immense embarrassment.)
Loki: *flustered* I am keeping Anthony till this is over. I am not negotiating this, I shall watch over this bundle of joy. Anyone who tries to take his shall meet a fate worse than death or any torture you have experienced yet.
(Loki disappeared with Tony in his arms, stunning the other Avengers.)
Clint: *whistling* Well... I never would have expected to see Loki embarrassed ever, or see him so protective over a toddler Tony.
Thor: *unfazed* Ay, my brother may not seem like it but he has always a soft spot for children. He also has a softness for Tony as well from what I observed, so our friend as a child has Loki in a protective instinct currently.
(the Avengers decided that Loki would be the best person to watch Tony. They learned a long the way, however, is that you don't make little Tony upset. Clint learned that the hard way when he accidentally startled Tony. Loki had set his pants, quite literally, on fire.)
Happy 2024 Pride Month everyone!
I know I haven't been posting like I used to, but I've been dealing with a bit of life stuff. Nothing bad, just general life things, such as ADHD and school.
I am so excited to celebrate this pride month and hope all of you feel proud to be yourself! Live authentic and be true my friends, and Happy Goddamn PRIDE MONTH!!!!
I've been wanting to write this for a little while, but I wanted to do some rewatching and research on the topic again.
This is my view on the topic of who was right, and who was wrong.
My answer? They were both right.
Let me explain:
Tony, after all the damage done that leads to this conflict, wants and does sign the accords. He wants the Avengers to be held accountable for the damages they cause and to have some restrictions so supers can't do anything they want willy nilly. He has the point here. People need rules and structure to avoid anarchy and chaos, to avoid things just ending up a mess.
Steve didn't want to sign the accords because his point was that the avengers couldn't be held down waiting for the green light, not when lives were at stake. His argument is made further when you take in the question of: 'who could actually hold this power?' Hydra invaded SHEILD, the government isn't safe either, and lord knows how corrupt politics are anyway. Hell, after Thanos snapped the government had to go make a consensus. Nobody could hold the avengers when lives were on the line.
Steve and Tony are both right. But they end up also being wrong too.
Tony is blinded by his overwhelming guilt at this point. After all he lost, the new trauma, and dealing with everything, Tony is hyper focused on redemption here. He wants to make up for the things he did, for the people lost in the cross fire. But he ends up not seeing the issues presented to him about signing the accords.
Signing the accords is a problem because, like I talked about with Steve's point, no one can simply have a leash on the heros. If they have to wait then people die, if they are leashed then Hydra would have been pulling the strings. Hydra invaded SHEILD and the government, if they pulled the strings then it's over. Not to mention that the person pushing the accords is General Ross, the man who hunted down Bruce to use him- to make the super soldier serum. General Ross is not an ally, he is a threat.
Steve was also wrong too. Avengers can't have full freedom to do whatever they please. Having powers being used recklessly and causing unnecessary damages to surroundings isn't a good thing. It's a risk to the people he wants to protect.
So Both are right and wrong. Mainly cause this conflict is complex, when you see the risks and factors of why things couldn't work one way or the other. But also remember, this is a conflict created by design too. Zemo had a part to play in this issue. Playing the game just right that would cause the leaders of the avengers to reach a boiling point on the argument that they split.
What I personally feel is that because of the trauma, pain, and exhaustion the two of them were dealing with when the accords were just presented that they were even in a good healthy mindset to even begin dealing with any of it. Both were stressed, dealing with issues on all sides, and couldn't see past the black and white view of absolutes. Steve and Tony were stuck on a chest board as pawns and both were fighting to win. Only we know how this ends up going.
I am Team Captain America AND Team Iron Man.
Cause in the end they are still a team, and I don't pick sides of my team- I choose all of them.
As an added part to this post I wanted to share my thoughts on Steve lying to Tony about his parents. It was wrong and unjustified, yes but I'm not talking about that. That is a simple fact. I want to explain my view on Steve's reasoning for this decision: He wanted to protect both friends of his. He wanted to protect Bucky cause he was brainwashed and innocent, he didn't want him hurt or kill for it. He wanted to protect Tony cause already he was traumatized, beaten, and utterly exhausted from so much happening. He didn't want Tony to have another thing on his mind that could potentially cause him to snap a part.
In the end it didn't matter, Tony finds out and everything falls from there. Steve here, from my pov, is the people who have the purest intentions and want the best for us, but end up making decisions that only harm us in the end unintentionally. When we make choice that we think help, but don't.
In conclusion: Do I think one or the other is wrong? No, both are right and wrong for their own reasons- making the answer a more complicated discussion.
Do I think Steve or Tony deserves the bashing they get from either side of the conflict? No. They are fundamentally human characters who wanted to do the right thing but were blinded by their own issues and too twisted and turned to properly communicate things.
Should either one be hated for these choices they made? No. They made the choice they did but in the end worked to fix what had been ripped apart, doing their best to mend that scar. They were adults about it and made up while finally having a more healthier mental state to deal with everything.
Are both still my favorite characters and ship? Fuck yes.
😎Marvel Prompt Time!!! 😎
Loki is a character that is complex in the fact that he is conflicted internally, as he wants to do the right thing but doesn't knows how and that it wouldn't matter in the end.
From his home life being disfuctional, neglected and essentially being raised with the intent to be a bargaining chip, to being treated as the villain consistently despite countless effort to show he can be a hero, Loki is just handed out the worst cards over and over. It makes sense he acts the way he does.
If the myths have any truth, Loki also suffered abuse in many forms besides the emotional neglect he endured. Possibly his mouth being sewn shut the biggest one.
It makes sense then that he would be in a constant state of hypervigilance and pushing back against anyone: especially Thor.
But the chronic stress and torture on his mind from the constant cycle takes a toll.
So my prompt to the fanfic writers:
Loki has reach his breaking point. The const stress, hypervigilance, the paranoia that anyone and everyone is against him, and the negative world views, causes his internal narrative to collapse. He can't hide his feelings anymore, screaming into an empty meadow on an empty planet, everything- every feeling inside starting to drown him.
Loki can't even physically stand, pushed to his knees and dropping his head to the ground with his arms around himself. This is Loki at his lowest. His magic is uncontrollable at this point as well, lashing out and exploding at random some parts of the ground, creating pillars of ice and thunder, ripping apart the planet inch by inch.
Then Thor appears to Loki, real and true. He could feel Loki's soul tearing itself up and about to implode. He tries to reach out to Loki desperately, to save his sibling from himself. Loki pushes Thor away.
Thor isn't deterred.
Shielding himself using his hammer, Thor makes his way to Loki through the chaos. When he finally reaches his brother, he falls beside him and takes Loki into his arms. Holding Loki tight Thor says the thing that cuts through to Loki's conscious: I love you, Loki.
With no barriers to stop the emotions from rising, no strength inside his heart to continue pushing Thor away, Loki sobs as he allows himself to be held. The chaotic hurricane around the brothers becoming lesser and lesser. Thor repeats the words and quietly murmurs words of reassurance.
Thor tells Loki he is forgiven and that he is sorry for his part in Loki's suffering.
They stay there, the chaos finally gone and the peace returning, allowing themselves at last the space to letting themselves to feel grief. To feel anything at all.
When the time comes, Thor offers Loki his hand to go home. Not to Asgard, but home. Home with Thor. Loki makes a choice; taking Thor's hand and following him back.
Marvel Prompts (Brothers addition)
What's up! I'm back at it again on Tumblr, so what has happened in the time I was gone?
Actually don't answer that, I don't want nightmares in my brain.
Hope you all are having a great holiday!
What are your three genders? Are they fluid/flux/fluix in anyway or are you always all of them at once?
Hello! Thank you for asking, I identify as male, female, and nonbinary. I use they/them pronouns and I am all of them at once. I don't flux between the genders.
Do you like cosplays? I doooo OwO
I think they are cool, but I myself do not cosplay.
:D
Am I valid if I’m tri but prefer to be predominantly veiwed as fem?
Hell yes! You are always going to be valid, you know why? Because it is your choice on how you express your gorgeous self! If the identity you find yourself to be, so long as it makes you feel more authentically yourself, you'll always be valid!
Just remember that identity is fluid, you just need to find who you are by what feels right. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
I agree, this was the first date... But Loki is right, he he was promised a drink first!
:D
Tony(after nearly dying from space): You ever tried shawarma? I don't know what it is, but I really want to try it.
Avengers(internally): *sighing in relief* Oh thank god! We atleast got a fancy date after fighting off an alien army and seeing this adorable self-sacrificial idiot almost die!!
Loki: I would like to remind all of you that I was promised a drink first.
*Thor shutting Loki up with manacles and a gag*
I'm out, I'm proud, and adore Marvel Stuff! They/Them pronouns! Ask me anything, I don't mind!
