i have bestowed upon you mcd/mys aphmau angst : )
hai aphblr and owl house fans maybe , have this joke piece i did for funsies. i wanted to practice rendering brighter haircolors so thank u amity blight for helping me with that šš
the aphmau, specifically minecraft diaries, brainrot has hit pretty bad again after like 8 years.
and you wanna know what my roman empire about MCD is? the fact that aaron had a wife and son. i think about that ALL OF THE TIME!
i can imagine him being serious/stoic as lord of a village (similarly to how he was in the beginning s2 of MCD), but actually tender and loving in private with his family. we saw glimpses of this side of him in his interactions with Aphmau and baby Lilith (& im sobbing at aph and aaron naming the baby after his wife Lily UGHHH), but can you imagine this gentle nature of his in full bloom? aaron said the first time he talked to his wife, he brought up the lily flower to her because of her name. aaron, the strong quiet loner, being young and shy about the girl he liked sounds so bizarre, yet so soft and sweet. can you imagine the fact that aaron had a wedding, and that was the probably the happiest night of his life? well, that was the happiest day until his son was born. aaron likely spent so many mornings adoring his baby boy. he said although he was afraid of disappointing his village, the one thing that kept him going was that he would never disappoint his son. imagine the quiet nights between him, his wife, and son, and how he wished for many more nights like those. he probably had so many grand plans for the village he was gonna raise his beautiful family in. he saw a bright future ahead, and it was all stolen away in an instant.
i do have my reservations about MCD aaron/aarmau, but he really was a compelling character. we knew he had a sad past, but thinking about these small details adds to the tragedy of his life and his sacrifice, making it that much more important.
Laurance actually doesn't do everything for others, isn't totally selfless, isn't morally perfect, and isnāt incapable of calling someone out.
While I like Laurance, I don't like view people have on him. It's both uninteresting and goes against canon.
"Laurance does everything for others" yet he constantly oversteps others boundaries because HE likes teasing and flirting with them. He constantly calls people out even when the situation doesn't call for it because HE is bothered by it. Laurance repeatedly told Garroth to give up on Zenix. Laurance shamed Aphmau for being sad about Aaron. Laurance refused to let go of his pride and listen to the advice of others who knew more about his situation(Vincent and Vylad) in season 2.
Laurance CAN be selfless, he can be self-sacrificing. But I am tired of people pretending he is only ever selfless, and only ever does things for others. He doesn't, he does many things out of self interest.
Laurance also has very good qualities though! Laurance is very brave, he never hesitates to call something out and stand up for others! He tries his best not to hurt those close to him!
I am tired of people taking Cadenza's shitty and misogynistic Laurance defense in mcd season 2, and taking it as genuine proof of their Laurance characterization. Characters can LIE about personalities of other characters, they do ALL the time in the aphverse. Like Vylad saying Garroth would never get swayed by his emotions. Jess doesn't know the characters she is writing, we need to be SHOWN not told.
Y'all gotta stop making Laurance harmless. Allow him to be morally grey!!
i doubt iāll finish this so iām posting it now šŖ
Iāve been thinking hard and and like⦠the idea of mcd aaron being part of the jury of 9 in the beginning of mcd is so interesting to me. it would make sense too- if we really think about it. zane wouldāve actually had a reason to go after falcon claw if it meant aaron would be forced onto the jury- since heās shad descendant and therefore powerful enough to be a huge help to them.
and aaron wouldnāt have a choice in the matter- since zane had full control over the entire situation. so despite how much he despised it- aaron would join the jury. it was that or death. and despite everything- at the time, he was too scared to die. so he joined- and stayed for a while.
He wasnāt particularly close with any of the other members- but he didnāt hate Jeffory and Katelyn. They werenāt as cruel as the others tended to be, so he was sometimes friendly with them to an extent.
But then Jeffory died- and Katelyn had to mourn him. Something flipped in Aaronās mind that day- seeing another person lose their lover like he did. Jeffory was killed by the same hands that took lily- and it broke something inside him. He watched katelyn sail to phoenixdrop to get answers- and eventually he followed.
thereās so many things that could happen after that- but iām suuuuper tired so Iām just gonna post this and get back to yaāll later on this lmfao š
hi iāve been terrified to post on here because of what aphtwt says about aphblr but uhm hi guys ^_^ please donāt be mean to meeeee

hello my fellow writers and really anyone who has knowledge abt dealing with anachronisms in historical fiction- i am writing my first draft of a novel centered around the life of penelope from the odyssey and iāve come to realize avoiding modern slang and phrases is extremely difficult to do altogether. SO! i was wondering what you guys considered too far when including anachronisms in a book that takes place in ancient times? i would really appreciate any feedback you have!
MY FIRST EVER ANIMATIC IS DONE HOLY FLIP!?!?! i love mcd aaron and alina :((( especially in my au where aaron gets his body back- so have this lil thing!! š
