Resources Wednesday

Today in our Resources Wednesday, we are making a general shout out for @writingwithcolor, a blog dedicated to create resources centered on racial, ethnic and religious diversity. Their incredible team of Mods have important resources for writers, plus they answer questions about writing, as far as they comply to their guidelines. Their site works beautifully and is very easy to navigate, so if you ever have any doubt on any topic, go check on what they already have. We highly recommend you to stop there from time to time to check the resources and asks to keep yourself thinking and learning! We certainly do so <3

Some examples of great resources they have (but there are so, so many more, including those that talk about the importance of diversity, of defying the default whiteness of media, and other topics):

Words to describe hair

Stereotypes and tropes, that includes general resources for POC and specific ethnic groups.

Go and give them a follow, their resources are invaluable for everyone, even those of you that don’t write!

Not to sound like a 90s shallow prep, but how you dress can affect your self esteem, and putting energy into wearing things you actively like and projecting an ideal of yourself through fashion instead of seeing clothes as things you have to put on out of obligation helps.

It also can give you a sense of control over your appearance that you otherwise wouldn’t have lmao
