Do You Have A Favourite Character (or Favourites)?

A personal headcannon of mine is that everyone who was petrified the 3700 years are all on varying degrees of touch starved, some might be more clingy or used more subtle touches around people. Especially for significant others, family and friends, now take that and applied it to the main who now is sperate from their s/o who by themself again but having the whole weight in getting the revial fluids or else. 😬

I imagine the like Suika they began to imagine their friends/family and their s/o encouraged them to continue that they'll be there supporting them, when ever they feel down. Heck, even just spending some time hugging the status or even rambling on how their day was to try to maintain some sort of sanity 🙃

Just imagine it. You go 3700 years trapped in stone, then when you're free you either reunite with your partner or meet them in the stone world and you can touch and be touched and have that kind of physical comfort

But then it's taken from you

And you have to try to figure out how to make revival fluid all on your own while without true companionship. All you have is your own voice, and the statues of the people you love most for company

Anyway I'm somehow even more sad about this now

I saw someone say that Senku probably counts to keep from falling asleep out of pure anxiety and I can't find the post now but how fucking dare you put that idea in my head while I'm trying to write a fanfiction.

It's bad enough he's horrendously touch starved and desperately lonely.

Ryusui x Miryuu

A match made in heaven honestly

“Mir-chan!”

She looks up from what she’s doing at the sound of Ryusui’s voice, her heart fluttering when she sees him running right to her with one of those big grins on his face. 

“Hey, Ryusui!” She says when he stops in front of her. He was breathing hard, he must have run all the way from the ship to get to her. How very like him, she thinks. When he wants something or to be somewhere, he makes it happen no matter what. 

“I have a gift!” He says. 

“For who?”

“You, of course!” 

She blinks at him, head tilting a little in confusion. She hadn’t asked him for anything before he left, that she can recall. She stands, holding out her hand for whatever he has to give her, only for him to shake his head. 

“No, you need to close your eyes,” He says

“Why?” She asks.

“Because I don’t want you to see it until it’s in your hand, of course!” He says, grinning at her.

There’s something in the way he’s standing, in the way his tone comes out a little shaky, that feels off. But she can’t quite put a pin in what it was. Could Ryusui be nervous? No, that’s not possible, he was never nervous. 

Closing her eyes, she wiggles the fingers of her outstretched hand, encouraging him to just give her what he has. She hears him take a breath then the rustle of a hand digging in a pocket. He mumbles something under his breath she doesn’t quite catch, then the tips of his fingers set something small into the palm of her hand. 

“Okay,” He says quietly. “Open.” 

She opens her eyes, inspecting the object that she’s been given.

It’s a ring, with an aquamarine gemstone in the middle. The band of the ring wrapped around the stone like waves on the sea, and had several smaller yellow gemstones set into it. The stones were no doubt lab grown, as she wasn’t sure where they would have found natural aquamarine in the stone world, but even still, it was beautiful. She could tell that a lot of careful care and craftsmanship had gone into making it. 

She looks up, lips parting to tell him what she thought of the ring, only to find him no longer standing in front of her. Instead, he was kneeling. Waiting patiently for her to give him her attention once more. 

“What…are you doing?” She asks, heart leaping out of her chest. There was no way he was doing what she thought he was doing. Not in a million billion years, was he about to ask her-

“Miryuu Capitana, will you marry me?” 

She stares at him, eyes wide. Was this real, or was she dreaming? Had he seriously just asked her to marry him? But-

“W-why?” She asks in her shock. 

“Because I want you,” He says it like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. 

“You want everyone!” 

“Not like this.” 

Miryuu looks between him and the ring, taking in the style and size of it. It was small and simple, nothing like what you’d expect to be given as an engagement ring from the Ryusui Nanami. And yet, it was perfect. It had her birthstone in the middle surrounded by an imitation of the waves encrusted with his birthstone. It was meant specially for her, to show just how intertwined the two of them always were, and always would be. 

No one else would ever be given something like this from him. Money, sure, but nothing this intimate. Nothing this special. Only she was being given that opportunity. 

“I- Ryusui-” 

“Please.” 

That startles her even more. Ryusui only pleaded with maybe two other people, and even then it was rare. Extremely, extremely rare. 

He was being serious, and he was showing her in every possible way he could think of. There was no wide grin, no laughter. Just a serious looking Ryusui, a ring, and his question. 

“Yes,” She finally breathes. “Yes, I will marry yo-”

She’s in his arms being spun around before she can even finish her acceptance. Ryusui was laughing now, excited and purely happy. She can’t help laughing too, wrapping her arms around him and pressing a few kisses into his hair. 

“We’re going to have the perfect wedding!” He declares. “Only the best for my wife!” 

Wife. She was about to become his wife.

In a world of soulmates, you're only ever told that when you find The One, you'll know. But they never tell you exactly how, because for everyone, it's different.

Simon goes through his life feeling the same about everyone he meets. No one gives him any weird butterflies or epiphanies, nor does he feel especially drawn to any one person.

It still takes him almost five years to accept you for what you are to him.

Oh he absolutely can, but imagine this with me if you will.

Add to the pulling of the tie: his full government name.

That's how he knows he's in real trouble. The kind of trouble he can't talk his way out of, or smooth over with a few soft words of appeasement or apology.

No, he's in danger when he hears not just his first or last name, but his middle name.

"Xeno Houston Wingfield!"

He starts making a mental last will and testament, and hopes through some miracle he can telepathically send it to Stanley, who bailed from the room faster than a bullet shoots from his gun.

"My darling-"

"You motherfucker!"

He's either about to be strangled with his own tie, gripped between the fingers of his lover, punched in the face, or kissed so hard hard he's going to be dizzy.

Talking about fantasy and horror themed stone world! What if some humans during the perrification turned into mythological creatures? What creatures you think Senku, Taiju, Yuzuhira, Gen, Tsukasa, Ukyo, Ryusui, Francois, Xeno and Stanley or other characters would have turned into? Would they had turned fully into these creatures or only gaining some traits? Also would being petrified again turn you more into this creature and get them to loose their humanity entirely? Your post truly got my gears moving now!!!

Getting transformed into something is a process that isn't always all or nothing. It depends on each person's ability to fight off the magic being cast on them. As for re-petrification, so long as they maintain enough of their humanity, being turned to stone would in theory fight off the lingering magic. However, if they turn completely, they're no longer human and therefore have no hope of being petrified again.

That's not to say there aren't spells that could fix them, but they'd have to find someone who can do that, which may not be as easy as it sounds. If we're basing this on the magic system I built instead of classic fantasy magic, it's more of a cosmic horror type thing that will definitely leave them all scarred in some way or another.

Now! The list! Most of them are classic mythology and some characters might get the same creature, based on their general attributes.

Senku: Kitsune

Fox spirits known for their high intelligence and occasional tricky nature

Yuzuriha: Elf

Not in the Tolkien way, necessarily. Known in many tales for their beauty, wisdom, and crafting skills

Gen & Francois: Fairy

They're both tricksters and helpers in most mythology, which fits them both pretty well

Tsukasa & Taiju : Griffin

Griffins are creatures of power and protection, that should speak for itself

Ukyo: Naga

Creatures known in some mythology for peace and wisdom who will absolutely wreck you if you piss them off

Ryusui: Dragon

Dragons are known for their greed, but also they can be surprisingly benevolent

Xeno: Illithid

Yes, like in Dungeons & Dragons. Creatures of extremely high intelligence also known for a bit of madness and desire for conquering the world and twisting it to be in their image.

Stanley: Demon

Demons are pretty versatile in myth and fantasy. But Stanley, as we know, is beautiful, intelligent, dangerous, and extremely capable of whatever he deigns to do. Also, technically, he's under contract with Xeno (whether personal or professional it doesn't matter a contract is a contract)

Oh, I have a question. If you could change anything in Dr Stone, no matter how small a detail it is, what would it be?

I'd have them revive a surgeon before setting out to America. They had the resources, and it baffles me that nobody thought of it. I mean, yeah, it's for plot. But still.

Oh that's a tough one. I'm going to answer now, but I may come back to this later as I'm doing a rewatch of it currently.

I definitely agree that they should have thought about getting themselves a medical professional. After all, they may not have known about the American colony, but at this point how many times has someone been seriously hurt?

For me, though, I feel like most of my complaints are tiny little nitpicky things like "Why did Senku choose to do that instead of this" and "I don't think that's how that works actually"
