It's such a small thing, really.

The moment is a blip in time, and yet it meant everything in the moment.

Gen was humming to himself a song from the old world that he missed while taking a brisk evening walk.

The moon was high, the sky was clear, and the world was at total peace.

He does a little spin, losing himself in the moment, and not even considering that anyone was watching.

But just as he finishes his twirl, he catches Tsukasa from the corner of his eye.

The two men greet each other politely

And though there is no real reason to remain together

They do so anyway.

Tsukasa asks Gen what song he was singing

Gen just shrugs and doesn't give a real answer, as is typical

"It sounded nice coming from you," Tsukasa said

Gen's face flushes

And dares to ask if Tsukasa knows how to dance

He admits that he doesn't

Reminding Gen that he'd never gotten the chance to do such things

It's a risk, but Gen offers to teach him

"Just for fun," Gen says. "I won't tell a single soul if you don't want me to."

Tsukasa considers it, then hesitantly agrees.

He wasn't sure he could be gentle

Even with Gen, the man he cared for

But he lets Gen take his hands, and pull him in

One hand rests in Gen's, one on his waist

Gen's touch on his shoulder is featherlight, yet heavier than anything Tsukasa had ever felt

Tsukasa thinks his heart might explode when Gen smiles up at him

It's a real smile

A rare sight from the mentalist

"I'll lead, my dear Tsukasa," Gen says

He's awkward and stiff compared to Gen's more fluid and easy movements

But he manages not to step on his feet

Or trip

Or otherwise embarrass himself

Gen hums his song, giving them a soft soundtrack as they dance together

At some point, Tsukasa gets more confident, and takes the lead himself

Gen praises him, but his words don't feel flowery or fake, like they usually do

Not when his voice is so soft

His eyes filled with such warmth

Tsukasa twirls Gen, pulling him in and dipping him low like he'd seen in movies

Gen's face is bright red

"My, my. Already an expert, I see~" Gen coos

Tsukasa chuckles, pulling him back up.

"I have an excellent teacher."

Neither of them moves, both letting the moment really sink in

Then they part, hands hesitant to let go of the other.

"Shall I walk you back to camp?" Tsukasa asks

"I'd be honored, dearest."

Tsukasa curses himself for not kissing Gen before leaving him

It's in the quiet of night, so late that neither of you should be awake, that the words escape you.

"It wasn't your fault."

They're whispered, so softly that you don't even realize you spoke them aloud until his head lifts from your chest to look at you with tired, confused eyes.

"Hm?" He nuzzles his nose into your chin, peppering soft kisses into your haw.

"It's nothing," You say softly. He takes your words at face value, or at least he seems to. Whether it's because he's not fully awake, or because he just trusts you that much, you'll never be sure. He just lays his head back down, resting his head against your chest once again.

What would he think, if you told him exactly what you were thinking? What would he think, if you told him that everything that's happened to him to make him the way he is now wasn't his fault? That it wasn't his choice to be born, to have a father like Endeavor who treated him so poorly he snapped at such a young age. That there had been no reason for him to burn himself alive over and over again just to prove a point that never should have needed to be made in the first place.

It wasn't his fault. He'd been a child. He never should have had to endure any of it.

But, like always, you keep your mouth shut. You hold him tighter, kiss his head, and whisper that you love him.

If anyone knows pain, it's Simon.

After years of torture and hard missions, his body aches in all kinds of ways. Most of his days are good, but when they're bad, they're bad.

He doesn't moan and groan about it, doesn't complain. To him, there's just no point in crying over something like that.

But then comes you.

You, who after an accident in your younger years, suffers from chronic pain. You who keeps it in, and doesn't tell him about it until he bends you the wrong way in bed and has you in tears, but not in the way he's used to. It drives him insane.

He questions you about it, demands to know why the hell you didn't say anything. And to his absolute horror, you just shrug, and tell him it's not a big deal. You were used to it, there was no point in crying about it.

Its a jarring moment, to see himself in someone he loves, and he's not sure he likes it too much. You have to take care of yourself, you have to tell him when you hurt. He can't help you if he doesn't know what's going on.

It's massively hypocritical, and he knows it, but he refuses to let you be. He watches how you move, pays attention to how you twitch and sigh and God does he feel like he's looking at himself some days.

Your house fills with remedies. Heating pads and reusable ice packs, ibuprofen and tylenol, teas and oils and whatever else he can get his hands on that are supposed to help.

And he starts to complain.

Whenever his ribs hurt, he heaves heavy sighs. When his knees are stiff, he groans. It's so exaggerated, you can't help laughing, but you're not mocking him. He makes it clear, that if you were going to keep your silence, he was going to let it out for you.

heyy i love your oc and id like to know her abilities? Like can she shoot like Stanley? Cause in the manga they mention that Stanley knew how to shoot at the age of 10 so he was probably taught at home. Ty xx

Stanley made a point to make sure Odie knew how to handle a firearm safely and effectively, but he's pretty stern about her actual use of them. In other words, Stanley doesn't fully trust her with a weapon like that, so she's not allowed to shoot. If you see her with a gun, it's usually a bluff.

However, that doesn't mean Odie is helpless. She's been taught self defense, and can absolutely hold her own in a fight.

Pre stone world, Odie was the person who read random articles on Wikipedia/Google, and watched those long-ass video essays on hyper-specific topics to keep her self busy and distracted from the things happening in her home. She's a treasure trove of the most random and specific facts you could think of, though she's not the best at putting that knowledge to use without a little poking from an outside party (usually Xeno or Senku)

She also pays very close attention to the people around her, and though she's not an expert in body language, she knows what it means when Stanley stands like that, when Xeno uses that tone, or when Senku tilts his head at that angle.

Odie is far from a perfect person. One of her biggest flaws is that she doesn't think she's good at anything, which can be detrimental to her in a lot of ways. She's also petty and holds grudges (see: her relationship with Stanley), and can be very foul tempered.

If you ask her, she's "just alright, I guess," and is pretty quick to wave off any time someone compliments or praises her.
