it is disgusting to be alive in america right now. what have they told us? “let them eat cake” comes out of the mouths of every other politician. we are told to send kids back to school, that only their friends will die, and their teachers, and maybe you. we are told to just find another job in the middle of a hiring freeze and massive unemployment. we are told that healthcare is a privilege while being encouraged to “be smart” about covid. we are told to move somewhere else if the rent is too high. to just grow more vegetables if food is running thin. to spend less on coffee. if you don’t like it, they assure us, the problem is you. america is the land of opportunity! there are a million ways for you to be taken advantage of, and we will blame you for all of them.

jeff besos could pay each person on earth one billion dollars and still be the richest man alive. the police continue to open fire on protesters, but the media has moved on. citizens are kidnapped by federal officers. children are in cages. flint still doesn’t have clean water. disney, gleefully paying minimum wage, happily opens to crowds. 

i click on another article where another rich white man tells us to simply be brave and to be proud when we are afraid and dying and aware we are being mulched for profit. there is a parable, somewhere, about what happens when the wolves are starved but the mayor has hundreds of sheep.

i am getting hungrier and hungrier. and there is no more bread to eat.

They only look like us so we’re able to understand what we see, but what are they truly… A collection of ideas and concepts for them :) maybe i’ll talk about them more another day (Yes before anyone comments, Pride from FMA was a big inspo for eef)

Help!

My mom thinks I'm spending too much time using my phone and reading, and not studying. How she expects me to study when my school is a joke and the world is crumbling, I don't know, but that is a whole other post.

She also found out that I use Tumblr, and she's furious. I'm literally not allowed to be on any social media platform, so she wants me to delete my Tumblr now.

Anyway, after many hours of lectures and yelling and tears, and explaining what exactly Tumblr is, she's decided that if this post gets

10,000 notes I get to keep my phone

20,000 notes I get to keep my phone AND my Tumblr

30,000 notes I get to keep my phone and Tumblr, and I also get as many books as I want

She's doing this cause she thinks Tumblr is useless and that I'll never get enough notes, so help please! I know this is near impossible.

I have until September 28th, 2020.

To those in Texas dealing with this shit show of a polar vortex, your friendly neighbourhood Canadian is here.

SO you've lost power and fucking freezing? First things first. You're going to grab literally every blanket and pillow and cushion you can find.

Grab some newspaper or other papery material, it's insulation.

Next, you're going to build yourself a motherfucking blanket fort. Keep it small but with enough space you won't feel like death.

Put the newspaper on the floor, put cushions and pillows, then your blankets. Build it up.

Any form of light source will also help (just please don't light anything on fire). Keep that there.

As for clothing, you need to layer it up. Keep moisture wicking material as a base, then build it up. You might look like the Michelan tire man or Pillsbury Dough Boy but you'll be warm.

If you have pets that are susceptible to the cold, put one of your shirts on them and bring them to the blanket fort.

KEEP YOUR TAPS DRIPPING SO THEY DON'T FREEZE.

DO NOT OPEN YOUR FRIDGE OR FREEZER UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. The temperature there will not protect your food enough.

If you have to go out at all, look for shiny patches on the road. That is black ice.

If you hit ice, don't panic, don't hit the pedals, lightly take your foot off the gas, steer into the skid to gain control again (do not over steer) and then straighten your wheel. Look where you want to go and then start slightly steering that way.

Pack clothes and blankets. Cardboard, shovel, and cat litter if you have it. This will help if you happen to get stuck.

IF YOU GET STUCK IN THE SNOW for the love of God do not just gun it. That will damage your vehicle and dig you into a bigger hole. You need to either wait for help or "rock" your vehicle. Hit the gas a little, then back off of it. Do this in a steady rhythm so that your car rocks. Rock with it.
