Part 5 of past uquiz results:
I’m bored and been wanting to do this for a while so please feel free to have fun(?) in my ask box
I won’t accept anything nsfw, but other than that send whatever y’all want.
I most likely won’t answer right away, but I’ll try my best to answer/reply regardless.
🤸 Welcome to marine facts with Bagel: part 5
Sperm whales, which are one of the loudest animals in the world, can produce sounds waves so powerful that it can cause your eardrums to burst as well as vibrate your body to death

I saw the part about how the patriarchy also negatively affects men, and I wanted to expand(?) a bit more on that.
Yes, the patriarchy centers around having men in the main position of power, both at the home and on the political scene (to name a few examples), but it also sells the idea to men that they have these conform to the stereotypes that the patriarchy perpetuates.
And I’m not ignoring the great privilege the patriarchy gives to men, but we can’t ignore the harm that it also causes them.
The idea that men HAVE to be leaders, that they HAVE to be strong, that they CAN’T be vulnerable
We should be able to recognize the harm the patriarchy causes to women without pushing the harm it causes all other genders, but specifically men in this instance, out of the picture.
I want there to be fewer MRAs. Do you want that too? Do you want to know what helps us get there, from a feminist perspective?
You may not like my answer: acknowledge that sexism can affect men. Recognize that, although the patriarchy generally privileges men, they are also subject to restrictive gender roles that are harmful to them (shunning all things “feminine,” not showing emotions, being protectors/strong, never admitting being victims of SA/IPV, having to “earn” their manhood, etc.).
Give young men a place other than the right-wing manosphere to be heard about the issues they experience. If these grifters are telling them “only we understand how hard it is to be a man, the left hates you for your gender” and they look to the left and see “men claiming they have ‘problems’ are losers who just hate women, all men are trash,” do you think they’re going to be drawn towards or away from feminism?
Before you leave an angry response: no, this does not mean to center men instead of women in feminism, it just means including them at all. No, it is not “coddling” men to treat them with human dignity, you can and should continue to hold them (and every other gender) responsible for unpacking sexist beliefs. No, this does not mean it is every individual woman’s and feminist’s responsibility to prioritize men’s issues, it just means at the least not shutting them down when they do speak up about sexism. No, it is not “not all men-ing” to point out that “men are trash” sentiments hurt the feminist movement rather than helping it. Ask questions before you make accusations on this post, please. I have been abused by men too, I get it, this isn’t easy to hear.
Imma use this as an opportunity to talk about one of my favorite creatures from Celtic mythology: the kelpie
(All of this is copied and pasted from my notes app 😇)
Now the kelpie is a shapeshifting water spirit that is usually found near like streams and rivers and I think other bodies of fresh water; it usually takes the form of a horse but is capable of taking on other shapes such as that of an old woman or a man. The thing that gives the kelpie’s identity away is the fact that the kelpie is perpetually wet and cold with waterweeds in its hair or mane. When in horse form the kelpie is known for luring weary travelers to ride it; once they get on its back the kelpie then takes off into the nearest body of water, the rider, who is now stuck to the kelpie, is forced underwater by the kelpie and eventually end up drowning, after the victim is dead the kelpie eats them. If a victim ends up on the back of a kelpie one way they can prevent their death is to grab its bridle, this essentially gives the rider control.
I may or may not add more stuff to this though not specifically kelpie or folklore based, that or I might just do so on my page in general
Please info dump on this post!!
I know a lot of times people autistic/neurodivergent people feel like they have to apologize for their interests and I want to help change that.
I genuinely want to hear about your interests! I want to hear the "fun facts" and the lore of really specific media. Don't shy away from including details, you can write out a whole essay and I'll read every word. Just share about something you like unapologetically!

(This is a time sensitive question)
I’m bored so I decided to share the results of some past uquiz quizzes I’ve taken
Part 1:
(I don’t have the link to any of these quizzes cause I took these a WHILE ago)
I have half a mind to see about getting a buzz cut, but 1: it’s too cold where I live at the moment and 2: I know for sure my parents wouldn’t let me
Edit: I’ve talked to my mom about it and it sounds like she’s genuinely considering it…?
Edit 2: My dad, however, seems to be very much against it 😕
