If we had a friendship or a prior connection, I would have asked you for a few simple things that mean so much to me and my children.
I would have asked you to share my pinned post, hoping your share could reach people who can help.
I would have asked you to stay in touch with me and always ask, “How can I help you? Are your children okay?”
I would have kindly requested that you share my story through my GoFundMe campaign—whether on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook—because a simple share could make a big difference.
I wouldn’t ask you to donate because your support in other ways could be more valuable than money. Besides, I don’t want to put you or myself in a situation that could cause embarrassment.
I would have politely asked you to write about my campaign and post it on your blog, or even ask your friends with large platforms if they could do the same.
But unfortunately, you are not my friend, and you probably don’t care about me or my children. Still, I am compelled to try for the sake of my family.
Or perhaps... could you be my friend? And a friend to my children? Could you stand by us and try to help us?
I apologize for using the Ask feature to send this message, and I also apologize for reaching out to you without prior acquaintance. But if you were in my place, you would do the impossible for your children. And I would never wish for you to face such a situation.

1. You are responsible for your own media experience.
2. There is such a thing as a healthy level of avoidance towards topics that make you feel unwell or even (in a real-life clinical definition of the term) trigger you - but you are the one to actively take care of what you view.
3. Avoiding does not mean policing others.
4. You have no right to tell artists to censor themselves - you may criticize what others do, you may dislike it, that’s fine - but actively asking for censorship when you could easily unfollow or block a person just makes you look incompetent in your use of the internet.
5. Do not give people on tumblr or /any/ website the responsibility for your emotional well-being. Because these people do not even know you so no, you have no right to ask them to take care of you.

but everything changed on October 7th, 2023, when war destroyed Gaza. I was forced to flee my home, and now I live alone in a tent made of torn fabric in southern Gaza.
The constant bombings are unbearable, but the fear of violence because I am a lesbian in a society that rejects me is even worse. Every day, I live in constant terror of being targeted, judged, and harmed simply for who I am.
Alongside this fear, I’m struggling to survive with extreme shortages of food, water, and basic supplies. Life has become a daily battle just to stay alive.
I urgently need your help. I cannot stay here any longer. Please help me find safety, dignity, and the chance to live freely as myself.
