how could anyone NOT expect byler to be canon after mike’s entire arc this season was about being unable to tell his gf he loves her while being trapped in a car for days with his best friend whose entire arc is about being in love with mike. like???
i have a disease that makes me see every female character as a lesbian and its called being smarter than everyone
“my favorite this season was the fruity four”
be more specific bitch
we’ve got pride parade
internalized homophobia
polyamory
and old spice
No cause this like I’m happy that I think Byler is actually gonna be canon but the Duffers r still shitty ppl because queerbait was just one from a long list of problems and removing just that still leaves us with a long list of problems
I know I see a lot of people who have changed their minds drastically about volume two; however, even though byler may possibly canon, the way they treated their poc was still unacceptable and I hate seeing people worship the duffers again for their details or their writing. Lucas, Erica, and Argyle, still are stereotypes and were put in uncomfortable situations for poc viewers to watch such as Lucas and the Jason scene or the Erica and basketball player scene. I’m not saying that the ship that we all want to become canon is a bad focus but I’m saying we can’t ignore issues of the show now that everyone is relieved that Mike and Will could get together
maturing is the “wait, she didn’t even say let them eat cake?” -> “omg marie antoinette did nothing wrong sofia coppola is a genius” -> “maybe marie antoinette is not a supervillain but is not an angel either” pipeline
U guys r making my mind explode FJJFJF guess I’m delusional again lmao
Mike knowing what Will meant in the van scene is not a POSITIVE thing actually is the OPPOSITE. It means that the Byler storyline is over and that Mike is homophobic towards Will and that he actually meant what he said to El in the monologue
No it doesn’t? Lmfao what? The entire reason Mike even gave that monologue is because Will told him to. He literally had to be told to tell El he loved her by Will. That is literally canon 😂🤨 idk how you melvins are happy with this. Will is canonly the only thing holding that ship together LMFAOOO
Mike gives an ILY confession to El because of Will’s coded love confession. Mike’s monologue is literally a direct response to Will’s monologue????? Mike surely knows Will lied about the painting or at the very least he suspects it, or suspects will is talking about himself, but there are many reasons Mike might not confront him about this lol, because what if he’s wrong? Then he would expose himself.
like seriously? Look at the way he LOOKS at Will here. Really bro? He looks: scared, shocked, unsure, nervous, hopeful, happy? The way his eyes subtly shift back and forth like he is SEARCHING for an answer. He at the very least suspects, but it would make sense if he is doubting himself, especially considering it is Will that literally tells Mike to say what he said to el…. Mike would not have given that monologue otherwise. Mike is confessing his love to El, a DIRECT RESPONSE to Will’s confession where he pretends to BE el…. This is not very subtle subtext lol.
Will pretends to be El in his love confession. Will confesses he loves Mike as El. Mike then confesses he loves El back, where Will is the one actually pretending to be El the entire time. Come on now
🤨🤨🤨
it's fun to joke about will becoming a villain, but it's very confusing to me that there are people who genuinely believe that's a thing that might happen (and would even want it to!) since:
1) one of the two gay characters being a villain would be far worse than him being sad over unrequited feelings. not to mention how awful the part of the audience that already hates him for no reason would get once they feel validated in their contempt.
2) he deserves to have a moment where he stands up for himself (or someone else), and i would hate to see that villainised. it'd be such an important step for his character, and he deserves it to be framed as something positive!
3) if henry tried to manipulate will into joining his side by pointing out all the similarities they share, but will refused (highlighting how different they are when it actually matters) that would make for a much better story, a much stronger message, and would make much more sense for will's character.
4) unless he was being controlled again, will just wouldn't do that. he's loving and selfless and he'd never hurt his friends or family (or fight his sister) out of his own choice. which is not to say that he isn't allowed to feel hurt and hopefully even talk about how upset he is but.. not in some villainous monologue.
writing a fic or joking about it is one thing, but in reality making will a villain would be even more unfair to him than being sidelined. meanwhile having him play an important role in defeating vecna would be super interesting, and would actually make sense!
Yeah I think I might literally do something. U don’t know what yet but I would be doing something to ruin the Duffers’ lives.
If we have to endure all these homophobic comments and death wishes towards Will who’s only “crime” was daring to be in love with a boy, and then the duffers DONT give him a happy ending and a romance???? I will be going ballistic
