Basically just reader having a toxic relationship and how Mordecai, Rocky, and maybe other characters deal with it. Hope you have fun writing this angst prompt and I’ll be looking forward to it! Second of all, when I saw the request I was like: 'wait, that will be cool to write!' although ngl I've kind of procrastinated the writing process, sorry, I just lost my motivation and I had to push myself to start writing this ( ༎ຶ⁠‿⁠༎ຶ)

However I've finally got my motivation back. I'm not very good at making oneshots, it's my second time making one if I can even call this thing an one shot so if it's not looking like a proper one, I'm sorry. I wasn't sure how to get a hang of it. I was struggling a bit due to the lack of information so i tried to keep stuff neutral enough to not imply names nor gender which usually is not a problem to me, but lately I've been feeling like someone put a block to my creativity so if this writing isn't as good, you'll have to excuse me...

In case it is not what you expected, please let me know what to fix. Any advices are welcome!

Summary: How would Mordecai, Rocky deal with a reader who's in a toxic relationship.

Warnings: mentions of a toxic relationship of course, mentions of death, reader is gn, the relationship between the reader and canon characters is undefined.

Mordecai:

When he heard you complaining about some unreasonable arguments that you've had with your partner, he's been trying to be polite, trying to give you a few advices, telling you your partner was not acting wisely, not like a proper partner should. As the time passed, you had more and more complaints and on top of that you looked more gloomy. Seeing that, Mordecai's comments about how you should do something about it or just leave the person, worsened. How could you be so stupid not seeing what a two-faced, serpent with no respect your partner was?!

He always felt strange towards relationships, but now it was even worse after observing how someone close to him hurts themselves because of some weird relationships and odd feelings.

The line has been crossed when he saw you crying in a corner one day. The look of you - helplessly trying to wipe the tears off your cheeks, but only making it worse, rubbing them all over your face - reminded him of the time his little sister had scraped her knee and was weeping until he himself came to help her.

That was it.

You were too stubborn, too jumbled in those stupid feelings to do anything. If not him, no one is gonna take care of this situation.

That night he left his apartment with a fedora that cast a shadow over his face along with a coat that blended his figure into the darkness of the night. He already got everything he needed to know. He connected every little dot, every fact you said about your partner and the places you hung around - Mordecai quickly figured out their place of living.

In the future you have to be more careful what you say... he probably should tell you that.

After he reached your partner's flat, his lock picking skills were up to use. Much to his dismay, the rest of what he had left to do was a bit messy...

He didn't know how to comfort you the following days as you weeped over your not-so-alive partner, but at least neither you nor he had to worry about a certain somebody ruining your mental nor physical health anymore.

He's not a guy of many words nor one who shows much emotion / affection if any at all so you cannot expect much comfort from him, but he'll try to be there for you despite everything.

He will not tell you it was him who killed your partner tho, no, you would hate him for that even tho he 'did the right thing'... Or at least that's what he's been telling himself.

If you really want to, you'll find someone better, who will be the right for you, for sure.

Rocky:

He was happy to see you and your partner in the speakeasy. He loved bothering and teasing you two. It was fun and giggles until he started to notice you coming to Lackadaisy alone more often or acting somewhat odd when with your partner.

He observed you as you sat alone at the bar, leaning over a glass of illicit beverage. He was curious about the reason of it hence he came up to you:

- "hey there sulky-puss, where's your partner?" He rested his fists on his hips.

- "I don't really want to talk about this." You grumbled out.

- "Oh c'mon, pal! Spill the beans!" He cheered with his usual toothy smile.

- "No, Rocky, I'm not in the mood" you cut him off. Seeing his grin getting wiped away from his face exchanged for a confused look made you wince, you hated seeing him upset. "Sorry, I just-... It's a bit complicated, don't worry about it, okay?"

He nodded, he didn't want to bother you too much, he tried to ignore it... at least for now. However he couldn't shake off a bad feeling he had about what was happening. However he started to pick up stuff like: how your arms were often drooped, how hunched your posture was, how you looked like a walking ball of anxiety. He tried to talk to you, to crack a joke, to cheer you up. Sometimes it had the intended effect and sometimes it had the opposite outcome, but he didn't want to give up. After some conversations during which you may or may have not been slightly tipsy he concluded 'your partner was the matter'.

- "Woah, Woah, Woah-... Your partner did what?"

- "yeah... They started threatening me after I said I wanted to leave." You admitted quietly.

- "Oh no, that is not the spirit of love!" He pressed his palms to his cheeks dramatically, making his lips pursue like a fish.

- "Unfortunately you're right, it's not... I don't know what to do anymore." You whined and then took a sip of your beverage.

A burning bottle filled with motor oil and gasoline hit the wall of a house and set it on fire.

- "TASTE THE BURNING FLAMES OF LOVE! Ahahah- Or rather the flames of sweet justice. I probably should've said that instead." Rocky brought his finger up to scratch his chin. "Hmm, I should have-"

- "YOU BASTARD!!" A sudden yell came from the window.

Rocky looked up and his lips widened in a twisted grin.

- "You brought this on yourself!! BhAHahHa!!" Once he saw the figure rushing and disappearing deeper into the house, he knew that was the moment to run and so he did...with a maniacal laugh.

The condition of your partner and their house depends on how generous Rocky felt that day.

Let's hope your partner is scared enough to leave you alone and not seek revenge.

finally I found some motivation to write so here we go! I wasn't exactly sure how to write it, but I tried.

Romantic headcannons, but no mention of established relationship.

At first he didn't think much of the gifts that you gave him. He saw them as rewards for his succeeded runs.

However when you didn't stop gifting him, he started feeling a little confused and awkward about it. He wasn't complaining tho, hah.

He started showing you more and more gratitude.

Subconsciously he was looking forward to seeing you, but it wasn't really because he wanted to get something from you. He was just yearning for this nice sensation of feelings he used to get around you.

One evening when he came back from one of his adventures, you heard him complaining about him damaging his violin. - That was the moment you knew what your next move was.

He was really skeptical about borrowing you his beloved violin but he decided to trust you since so far you've never let him down.

When you gave him back his violin, he was in tears (of joy ofc). He couldn't thank you enough. It was his old violin but it was repaired now and it looked almost brand-new.

He offered to play you something on it as a token of appreciation ;3

You were already used to Rocky reciting some random poets he came up with in the span of the moment, but now it got more frequent and more personalized.

He's very grateful for everything you do for him. He might not always be the best at words but his actions speak volumes you wish those 'actions' were less disastrous tho...

You need to tone down spoiling him or else he might feel like he's using you which is not good cuz your poor boy feels awful with that😔

There is a possibility that once Mitzi catches on how rich you are and that you're close to Rocky, she might try persuading him into asking you to help the speakeasy or she might ask you herself.

If you ever deny helping Mitzi's drowning ship and give them a good reason why, Rocky won't ask you for it again. What you do is enough for him and he doesn't wanna make you feel used.

I'm sorry this request took a bit long to reply, but this week's been quite busy for me. Now that I've got some free time, let me write that out. Thanks for the free choice of characters too haha. The amount of characters I chose might not be a lot, but they're fun to write.

Summary: How would Zib, Wick, Rocky act at the begging of a relationship.

Zib:

okay so first of all, I think that if you wanted to get into a serious relationship with Zib, you must've been friends or whatever else you were for a while already.

Once you've finally decided to put a label on your uh situationship he'd be... Somewhat less stressed about you suddenly leaving and finding someone else. It's not like you knew he was stressed about it anyway.

There wouldn't be a lot changing in your relationship except stuff like:

He'd be a bit more clingy in public, whether it is leaning onto you as you sit next to him, sending you looks from the stage as he performs which unfortunately happens very rarely or just simply flirting with you a bit more than before.

He also might get a bit more gentle-like, but don't mention it🌚

Wick:

Okay so there are two ways of starting a relationship with him:

1. If you're meeting him after the 'Mitzi incident' and you're the first one to jump up with the relationship, he might be very careful at first. He must make sure you're not a gold digger or anything. No offense tho.

2. However if you were a trusted one and always acted nice towards him, it might go pretty smoothly actually.

DATES👏 This man will take you out on cute dates👏 prove me wrong, or don't. Let me dream. He will take you out to a nice restaurant from time to time, treat you to a nice meal or take you out on a walk, and all that jazz.

He will try his tricks to woo and court you. He might not be the best of bests at it, but he's definitely not bad either.

At first he'd try to tone down his bragging about his special interests, but as the time passes and he sees he can be comfortable around you, he goes all with it. You can be out on a date and he's yapping about different types of stones and telling you some random fun facts. Well, isn't that fun???😼

Rocky:

If you don't say it very clearly, he might not know what you meant. He might still treat you like a "pal", a "friend" for a while.

He would have to get used to the thought of having someone dear, who would love him again. Just be slow and patient with him.

However once he already processes it, he's quick to soak in all your love and affection. He's starved for it.

However if you wanted him to open up a little bit more to you... It's a completely different story... It will take him a lot of time, but you will get there someday, eventually.

Hi, I was wondering if could you write Husk from Hazbin Hotel and Reader who see him like a father figure or a mentor? The Reader are introvert and they have difficulty about to trust for the next one. But when they meet Husk, they slowly start to see him like a father figure while Husk tries to deal with it.

At first, when you joined the hotel, you didn't want to socialize much. Sure, Charlie was nice and she really wanted to help, but sometimes her exercises were too much. You preferred to sit in a quiet place by yourself such as your room or if you wanted to loosen up a little, you found yourself at the bar accompanied by the grumpy bartender.

To be honest, you were a bit afraid of him at first. The way he yelled at some of the customers made you cringe and it definitely didn't help your anxiety.

To Husk you were nothing unusual, just another lousy sinner to tend to.

As time passed by and you became 'regular' at the bar, he started to recognize you. He started to pick up on how you tried to avoid the crowd and the spotlight. You seemed to come to him every time you tried to run away from society. You were pretty polite and didn't make a mess. Maybe you weren't so bad after all?

When Husk was in a better mood, he'd start a conversation with you to get to know you, to understand you better, to see what's the cause of your behaviour. He knew you were really shy, so he was trying to be slow and patient with you.

At first you didn't want to open up, so he didn't force any interactions. He just tended to you like he would to anybody else. Once you've decided you wanted to give him a chance, he was somewhat glad you took enough liking of him to trust him.

Surprisingly, every conversation you've had with him felt so... Natural. He seemed to understand you and he didn't make fun of you nor try to force you to face your fears.

You spent time with him more often, even outside the bar. You looked at him in a way he couldn't quite picture, in a way that made his 'cold heart' feel a bit warmer.

In your head you pictured his humour, the way he spoke, the way he cared, very fatherly.

At some point, you think he picked up on what you were thinking since his behaviour became somewhat protective over you. He started to ask you in a subtle way to text him once you get to your destination safe and sound, or he wouldn't serve you drinks when he knew you were reaching your limit/wouldn't let you make a habit of drinking away your sorrows- (he doesn't want you to end up like him.) He even tried to lecture you a few times about it (or lecture you about life in general).

He was happy to see that his words influenced you in a way.

On a rare occasion when he is in a good mood (he also might be slightly intoxicated) and barely anybody is around, he'll tell you "I'm proud of you, kid."

Overall: Sometimes your relationship might be a bit rocky, but once you talk through the problems/you let him do his thing, it's wholesome :)

Hello! I was wondering if you could write how Rocky would be like with a shy, kind-hearted reader, please? Maybe reader is trying to get Rocky to realize their feelings for him through small gestures — like helping clean up his injuries after he goes rumrunning or suggesting they have brunch at Little Daisy Cafe (both to make sure he has eaten that day and plus make it feel like they’re on a date) etc. These gestures are all too subtle for him to notice, so he’s all like “they’re just being nice! 😄” until reader gathers the courage to confess their feelings. Idk, I just want to see how this goof would react to knowing someone is lowkey down-bad for him😅🤣. Sorry for the long request and thanks in advance!

A shy person with rocky?.. that's not a very good mix. He's the guy who is always the centre of attention. If you're with him, you're most likely also gonna be a part of it.

However if you try to calm him down a little or when he notices you're not very comfortable with what's happening, he'll try to tone it down. He doesn't want you stressed out.

He might as well just tell you to "relax" because "everything is going to be fiiiineee" even if it's not😭 Basically he's trying to reassure you about things all the time.

As for the romantic part:

At first he'd be pretty oblivious, thinking you're just extra-friendly towards him and he's happy with that!

This afternoon lackadaisy gang went rum running. You felt a little uneasy and decided to wait in the bar till they come back to make sure everything's fine. A few hours had passed, the afternoon turned into very late evening. You were growing a little bit tired.

"How long are they gonna take?''- you thought to yourself.

Suddenly...

"GUESS WHO'S BACK!!! AND LOOK WHAT WE'VE BROUGHT! TA-DAA!!" Rocky bursts into the bar with his hands in the air. He was holding a few bottles of questionable liquor. Ivy walked in a few seconds later, dragging Freckle along by his sleeve.

You turn your head towards the entrance and gasp loudly.

"Rocky! What happened?!" You stand up quickly and trot over to him. You want to grab him by the coat so you could bring him closer and take a look, but you stop and hesitate.

"Ah, just some minor incident. Nothing to be worried about!" Rocky shrugs his shoulders and smiles awkwardly.

"Minor?! Rocky, it looks bad!" You pout your lips. "Sit down" you order.

Once he listens to you and you get the supplies you need, you start to clean his wounds and patch him up very carefully. You noticed his ears drooped and his gaze lowered at the floor. You sigh.

"Hey, I'm not mad at you... I'm just- worried, okay?"

He nods slowly. He seems a bit nervous. After some coaxing from you, he opens up. He starts speaking about how their journey went and what happened during it. You nod slowly while finishing your work around him.

He's not used to that kind of treatment, but he appreciates it at heart. It feels good to be finally cared for.

When you ask him out for brunch at the little daisy cafe he's happy to oblige, of course you get him pancakes with extra syrup.

Once he makes a quick wit about how this whole thing looks date-like, you lower your gaze sheepishly in silence. He swallows his food slowly and opens his mouth to say something, but backs off. He's not sure what to say. He's quick to laugh his silly thought off and move on with his bragging to something else.

"You were just being nice right? Nobody would care that much about him, right?..". He appreciates it while the moment lasts but again, he's quick to move on.

He doesn't wanna ruin what you have. You mean too much for him. He ruins everything. He cannot lose you too.

As much as he likes you, he might distance himself a tad bit at times. Buuut it happens rarely, just when he's feeling somewhat unwell, when his head is throbbing and he cannot think straight (just like after the "haymaker" episode where he got badly injured and wasn't exactly himself till the next morning.)

You didn't want to lose him either. You were afraid, but you had to make a move.

It is hard for you to get yourself to do it... You practice in front of your mirror, saying your speech over and over again, circling around your room till you finally gain the courage.

Next time you see him, you try your best to confess and not screw it up.

You did it! Finnaly! But... Why is he still acting so oblivious? Why is he trying to turn it into a joke?

"Ah, that's so romantic! You really put your thoughts into it, didn't you? Maybe you are also a poet at heart?" He rests his hands on his hips with a grin.

You frown a slight bit and try to explain it as clearly as you can, that you love him.

He goes silent.

"Rocky?.… Please say something"

"Are you... Serious?" He tilts his head in doubt.

"yes? Why wouldn't I be? Didn't you notice all the signs?..." You ask in confusion. Was he THAT oblivious???

"Oh. Soooo... You weren't just being friendly?" He asks while fidgeting with his hands.

"No. I thought It was pretty obvious-"

"well, shucks!" He pouts "I wouldn't even dare to think-.. Are you sure tho?.."

You sigh and a small smile creeps up at your lips. "Yeah, I'm sure." You say calmly as your hands drift up to wrap them around your torso.

Rocky grins widely and starts to bounce on his feet. He opens his arms widely while making some weird buzzing noise. You smile goofily at the scene in front of you and you open your arms at him too.

In this exact moment, he flungs himself at you, picking you up, spinning you around in his arms.

He's a huge dork, but he's your dork. :)

Yeah ofc, I'll try!

I assumed that Atlas's child is also Mitzi's since they were married in the comic, in case it is not what you wanted let me know! I can try changing some stuff up.

Summary: Rocky Rickaby x May's daughter!reader

Warnings: established relationship. Female!reader.

About the parents...

Okay so first of all, Atlas wouldn't be too happy to see you dating Rocky, however Mitzi would let that slip somehow. After all she was the one to grow fond of Rocky and bring him to the speakeasy.

At first your parents especially Atlas would be a bit very skeptical towards you spending some alone time with your new boyfriend, but they would get used to it over time as long as you'd be safe and sound around him.

Despite that, him taking you out to any kind of bootlegging/smuggling mission, or anything akin to that would be a big NO.

Your dad might not be a big fan of your boyfriend, but at least he makes you happy and that's what counts, right? He'll let your partner live... For now.

And now let's switch to Rocky

He'd be over the moon to be in a relationship with you. Like, c'mon... A GIRLFRIEND?! Who is the DAUGHTER of his MOTHER FIGURE?! It's like killing two birds with one stone. Wait maybe let's not use this certain saying-...

He's trying to be as careful as he can around you, which might be kind of hard for him considering the way he is, but he's trying okay? He doesn't want anything bad happening to his precious partner after all.

Rocky definitely soaks up all your affection. Have you seen that short comic on lackadaisy site called "beam" where Mitzi complimented him? It's the same way with you. You compliment him, say a nice word or call him any cute pet names? He's all giddy and fuzzy. Don't overdo it or the consequences might be catastrophic.

(No survivors reference, haha, get it? ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ)

He'd probably get a bit more comfortable around Atlas too. You can sometimes see him trying to crack a bad joke or nudge your dad with his elbow, but the result is very similar to when he does that to Viktor, however it's less violent.

If anybody ever tries to hit on you, Rocky's quick to react.

He slides up to the guy who tried to hit on you and wraps his arm around the guy's shoulders. "Hey there pal! Sorry to tell you, but this girl is taken, however do not worry! I have just someone you can talk to instead!" Then with that huge maniac grin, he slowly reaches to his coat and is about to pull something out, but the other guy is already skedaddling halfway through the room. Rocky pauses his hand mid air with a small piece of paper in it. His shoulders dropped and he put on a sad expression on his face. "Oh what a loss! Im sure he would've got along with Walter!"

"Who's Walter?" You ask with amusement.

Suddenly you heard something in a distance behind you. "Oh, sometimes I play the drums-"

"ANYWAY!"

After Atlas's death, Rocky tried to be there for you and Mitzi, doing his best to help as much as he could even tho his actions didn't always have the intended outcome. Despite everything he loves you dearly.
