My favorite fandoms are Harry Potter, Star Wars, the Hobbit/LOTR, Game of Thrones, Eragon, Avatar the last airbender, how to train your dragon....

Harry Potter takes Place in our world as Star Wars so if I have not been chosen to be part of it I would still be unable to use the force or magic, so no.

Eragon is a simplified version of Tolkien World even if I love it.

Avatar I would love if I could be a bender, if not... no.

Au cri du coq, Cryda se retourna sur la paillasse grinçante. Ses articulations la faisaient déjà souffrir, et le jour se levait à peine, mais elle n’allait pas lambiner pour autant. Pas son genre. Dans l’autre petit lit, sa sœur avait plus de mal. Elle la comprenait parfaitement. Qu’est-ce qu’il faisait froid, dans ce pays de bouseux ; et puis, Ygerne était la plus âgée des deux, et celle qui avait eu la vie la plus difficile. Mais enfin, ce n’était quand même pas une raison pour se laisser aller, et, ces derniers temps, elle avait sérieusement l’air d’être sur le point de jeter le manche après la cognée. Cryda s’était pourtant dit, quelques mois plus tôt, au moment où elles avaient passé la barre des dix ans dans la ferme nordique où elles avaient trouvé refuge, que si elles avaient tenu le coup jusque là elles pourraient bien continuer à tenir le coup tout pareil. Mais la morosité silencieuse d’Ygerne n’avait fait que se durcir à partir de ce point. Ça ne lui ressemblait pas tellement, à la sœurette, de ruminer dans son coin, mais la situation était quelque peu inédite, et l’espoir d’en sortir se faisait de jour en jour plus mince.

How I see vampire physiology :

- Temperature :

It seems stupid to have vampires as cold as ice, because to maintain a frozen temperature, they would need a biological system dedicated to this only goal. And why ? Venom conservation ? If venom if active on human body it needs a human temperature for that so ... no need to be cold.

I think that vampire are cold because they are dead. So like every non-alive item they are as warm as the room they are in. That's why they can hold snow without melting it. But if you put them under a blanket whith someone human or in a hot tub they will have a rise of temperature.

- Skin as hard as stone :

I think their blood circulation is replaced by venom so if tissues are inpregnated by venom they will be slightly modified. So their skin is not hard as stone but it could be indestructible. If venom molecules form a mail/mesh inside the skin, it could still be moved by touch or follow movements but couldn't be pierced or tore apart. And it's that venom's mail that sparkle in the sun .One could pinch Alice's cheeks but wouldn't be able to stab her even whith a sharp knife. Like the sand on the beach, you can push slowly your arm under the sand but if you stab it with your finger you will risk a visit to the hospital.

- Why drinking blood ?

If they have a need to drink it then blood have an utility within their organisms, I think venom replace blood in their blood circulation and that's why their heart doesn’t beat but the other circulatory system still function but slightly differently. Their eyes are still humid to facilitate the movements BUT they don't have tears (it exist only to protect the eyes and theirs aren't as vulnerable as human eyes) inside are still wet too to maintain the possibility of movements (if your organs weren't humid, your abdomen would be impossible to move). Ears and eyes have their liquid replace by venom and that could explain the amelioration of senses.

For that I think blood is necessary to bring essential elements : water for the organism different systems and molecules like hemoglobin, needed to synthetize venom.

- The golden eye color for vegetarian vampire :

Science cannot explain this, Smeyer wanted a physical difference between "good" and "bad" vampires. But it brings a good aesthetic so ... let's keep it 😁

I need help. 🐢

For my upcomming PhD, I need to sample several turtle species to obtain chemical data based on their environment. For that I need to contact rescue centers, sanctuary, etc

I have found rather easily contact informations for sanctuaries working with marine turtles but I struggle to find centers working with Malaclemmys Terrapin. The difficulty is that I need tropical latitudes, so the south of the USA would be great, in coastal areas to have specimens living in brackish waters. The majority on the centers I have found are in NJ or NC.

So if you have informations, it would be great 😁
